Best keyboard and mouse out there!

Keyboard and mouse awesomeness at a price that was too good to be true!! Where to begin? Let’s start with the packaging showing multiple views of these devices actually being used!! You know that within minutes of opening, you’ll soon be in wireless nirvana! From the tactile key response to the smooth glide of the mouse over any surface, you’ll wonder how you ever survived using your computer with anything else! The built in autocorrect feature blows the doors of WordStar and WordPerfect, and even give MS Word a run for the money! Derived spreadsheet formulas got you stuck? These things immediately detect the flaw in the logic, making suggestions along the way. The ability to choose your own LogiAvatar, who will then become your computer lifetime companion, is a really nice addition that they don’t even advertise! Pure genius!!

FIXED lag issue/poor connectivity, overall good

    Posted .

I was about to return this set due to the EXTREME lag issue and poor Bluetooth connectivity reported by some others. Both the mouse and keyboard were unusable, it was that bad. However I was able to troubleshoot it and resolve the problem by taking the following two steps: - Download the Logitech Options automatic driver update software from the Logitech website. Simply look up the MK540 product, scroll all the way to the bottom and click the "get support" button. Then click on "downloads". Select your OS version and install the software. - On your PC tower, switch the USB port that the unifying receiver is plugged into and see if that fixes the issue. I have an older model Logitech wireless set hooked up to a different PC that was laggy once in a great while and my husband discovered that the USB port itself was failing or damaged. A simple fix but effective. It seems like the majority of people who purchase this set don't have to do this and are able to just plug and play, but give these two fixes a try if you run into the dreaded lag issue. The set itself has a pretty good feel, although the keyboard action is a little soft for my taste. My only complaint about the mouse is that it does not have a smooth wheel scrolling option. It's a great value when on sale though and definitely worth the price when working correctly.

Nice improvement over the old MK530

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought the MK540 to replace an older MK530. After 6 years the batteries had started to leak in the keyboard to the point that the contacts had fallen apart. So I set out to buy the same setup since I liked the 530 so much. But then I found out Logitech had come out with a successor to the 530. The MK540 has better keys with better feed back and raised surfaces that make typing easier. The other functions are the same as the 530 but the buttons are just modernized. So overall the MK540 is a good keyboard as it does what I need it to do.

Great keyboard and mouse, works for Mac

    Posted .

Was hesitant to buy this because it said it was not Mac compatible. So far, I've had no issues with either the mouse or keyboard on my iMac. I'm using an older iMac model with the traditional USB inputs. I rarely use Mac keyboard shortcuts, but the ones I do use work fine on this keyboard. For common Mac key commands using the command key, you instead use the Windows key in the lower left. The keyboard itself is a huge improvement for me over the Mac wireless w/o numpad--I much prefer the more tactile keys for work, and the option to elevate the keyboard with the legs in the back make it much easier on my wrists. The numpad is also a huge bonus. I've had zero issues with wireless connectivity. The mouse is wonderful, very ergonomic and I love having the wheel. It was easy to change Mac settings from the natural scroll used with Mac mice to the conventional scroll for traditional mice with scroll wheels. Definitely go with this if you're wanting to upgrade to a more tactile keyboard with a numpad + a nice mouse, and don't want to shell out 100+.
