    Love this Keyboard and Mouse

I'd like to preface this review by saying that I bought this keyboard and mouse set nearly 8 years ago... and I STILL use them daily. One of the features I brag about this set for is the efficient battery life, since owning the set I think I've only replaced the batteries in the keyboard like 3 times and the mouse about 5, no joke.. I work in IT and am a heavy user and these batteries will easily last a year before needing to be replaced. When I bought this set it Logitech had recently released it and I already had another high-end logitich set that I used at home but wanted a more practical and simple set for the office. At the time this set was over $100 so seeing it available now for around $60 feels like a great deal. Keyboard I prefer the low profile keys and shorter keystroke that is not available from other high-end keyboards often used in my field, specifically the mechanical keyboards. Since I don't like any of the ergonomic keyboards that I feel actually are worse for your wrists and hands I tend to stick with the simpler flat keyboard layouts. This keyboard I find very comfortable to type with and rarely feel any fatigue even when typing most of my 8 hour day. The LCD display shows useful info such as battery life, CapsLock, NumLock, and Mute. The images on the LCD are an odd, almost copper color that are easy to quickly see, but are not distracting like they would be if the LCD was some bold bright color. The keyboard also features Fn buttons that can be programmable to just about what ever hotkey function you like with the Logitech SetPoint software. So repetitive tasks or launching specific apps can be done very quickly. If you take the time time identify actions that can be programmed you can really save a lot of time in be much more productive. I'd have to say one thing I did miss when switching to this keyboard from my other one though was the calculator function. My previous higher-end Logitech keyboard had a digital LCD display so instead of just displaying simple icons you could actually hit the calculator button and do your calculations right there on the keyboard. This was a surprisingly useful feature With the MK710 the calculator button simply launches calc.exe and then you need to select the app as it doesn't become the active window when launched. Maybe it's just me, but this has always kind of bugged me. But still, that is probably my only beef with the keyboard. Mouse The M705 mouse that is included in the MK710 pair is not the best mouse Logitich offers, especially considering it's age now, but for the price it is far an away better than anything else available. It is a Right-handed mouse (sorry Lefty's) that is very comfortable under your hand and has a good sold weight to it. There are actually 3 programmable buttons on the thumb side. By default they are Back, Forward, and Application Switcher. I'v found that changing the Back & Forward buttons to Copy & Paste is much more useful though, the application switcher I have left as default only because I haven't found a more useful hotkey function to set it to. My favorite feature of this mouse though is the wheel. There are two "speeds" available line scrolling where you can progress the page by a set number of lines programmable from the SetPoint software, or Speed scroll to quickly scroll to the bottom\top of a page\document. To toggle between the two simple click the "clutch" button just in from of the mouse. I have gotten so use to this functionality that it's to the point that I won't by another mouse without it. In line mode, the scroll wheel "bumps" to positions as you scroll, in speed mode the wheel is free to spin allowing. In addition to the dual mode wheel, the wheel also supports horizontal scrolling. This is especially useful for spreadsheets as you can just rock the mouse left or right to advance horizontally. While useful in other scenarios spreadsheets are where you will get the most use out of the side scrolling. Summary For the price being offered today I would buy it again, and maybe another one as a back up! I would like to see Logitech upgrade a few things, but for the most part this is a solid keyboard and a great mouse. As far as "would you recommend it" YES and I do often!

Keyboard never works properly. The mouse scrolls and does it all on its own. Very annoying product. I really enjoy the quality but the product software must have lots of issues

I had a friend who had this and thought it would be a good keyboard. I was wrong. The keys get stuck (second day I had it). The keyboard stops working sometimes and it's not the battery. I would not suggest buying this thing. I had a keyboard I paid half the price for that was 100 times better. I wish I had never tried to upgrade.

Geek Squad fellow said to take it back for a new one as the mouse was broken or use the old one. As I had thrown the box away that it came in I plan to use the old one. My advice is don't throw the box away.

I bought this product to replace a competitors product that didn't work out. The drivers were easy to install with the included CD, and I was using the combo within minutes of getting it out of the box. The keyboard has it all: hot key combinations for 90% of what I use my computer for. The pad at the bottom is very comfortable and ergonomic. A dashboard at the top of the keyboard clearly displays which "Lock" keys you have enabled, as well as a battery monitor. Overall the keyboard is sleek, very user friendly, and I've had no problems with missing keystrokes (unlike my last wireless keyboard/mouse combination). Speaking of the mouse, it has a variety of functions that make navigation a breeze (i.e. a side button lets you easily switch between windows you are working on). Two scrolling speeds are available that can be switched by simply pressing a button up top. It's light, responsive, and also has a low battery indicator as well. One of the more creative features is a space by the batteries in the mouse to store the USB for when transporting the mouse and keyboard on the go. The USB by the way is tiny, but has no problem picking up commands from the keyboard and the mouse. I don't usually write reviews on products, but I was so happy with this keyboard/mouse combo that I felt compelled to.

Great combo for productivity and gaming

I picked this combo up on sale mainly because I needed it for a new build and because... well, it was on sale. I couldn't be happier with my purchase thus far. The keys are wonderfully silent although not as springy as I'm used to, but I like the feel of the keyboard and I'm adapting to it quickly. The LCD display is a nice touch for at-a-glance monitoring of the keyboard's various states, including battery level. The mouse included is the Marathon Mouse M705. It's a great mouse, albeit a bit small for my large-ish hand. I'll probably upgrade to a beefier Logitech mouse in the future (Unifying Technology will make that a breeze), but for now the M705 is fine for my purposes (which include marathon sessions with Starcraft II and Skyrim) . I had my worries about wireless, especially when gaming, but these units are just as reliable and responsive as any wired setup I've used in the past. I was planning on sinking a Benjamin into a "real" wired gaming mouse for increased performance, and I'm sure glad I didn't. I've been a fan of Logitech peripherals for many years, and they have yet to disappoint me. This combo is no different. Great buy at the retail price, and a steal if you can nab it on sale.

This is the strangest keyboard I have ever used. The keys are very sponge like and it is difficult to use. You cannot tell if it registers the key stroke without looking to see if it is on the screen.
