Great thought, horrible execution - key spacing

First, keyboardists ... that is those who can touch type 95% of their keys, will probably find this keyboard as I did .. frustrating. The good? Logitech did the full inverted T for the cursors, and gave room above that for the standard 6 key horizontal layout of del/ins, home/end, and pgup / pgdwn. Where they failed however, is in key to key spacing across the keyboard. Its like typing on an uncomfortable laptop keyboard, where everything is jammed tightly and causes your WPM to drop because you have to keep going back to correct what you've typed for having miss-typed or inadvertently hit caps lock vs shift or tab as you intended. Because the keyboard was designed to be universal (mac is like what .. 5% or LESS of the market) between PC & MAC it includes the CMD key, a FN key (stupidly on both sides with one smaller on the left and one biggin' on the right) and this makes it *NOT* the keyboard you want it to be. Love the idea of getting 3 dongles to cycle not only my mouse and my keyboard to 3 machines (desktop & 2 laptops) via dongle or bluetooth ... but the keyboard is so uncomfortable to type on for someone that's been using computer keyboards for the better part of 30 years and before using selectric typewriters ... I'm constantly frustrated by such products that take one great step forward, but then perform a complete design stupidity by not just biting the bullet and making two different keyboards. The function key is really not needed at all .. how many people have really looked at their F keys and gotten to know how each keyboard maps different functions there, just like keyboards with dedicated volume and back/home keys for browsers. Its the design to placate idiots that really should just do, verses fit form and functionality. And if it really needed to include one, then having a smaller one on the right side only .. would have been the way to go .. but no... design idiots at Logitech just had to try to be ambidextrous and screw the lot of us. Sadly, though I'd really love to have a keyboard that does 3 PC's or 3 Mac's or combination of the like, this will not work for how tight the alphabetic keys are, and forcing people to type on a smaller than standard size layout. If you're serious about your typing skill and speed, this will *not* be the keyboard for you.

This is plug and play right out of the box. Both are wireless and work flawlessly, I got this at 50% off on a sale and couldn't be happier. I might buy another one for my computer at work. I would recommend this. You need this, buy it now!

We're used the Logitch KM710 for a while before 'permanently' switching to the KM850s. These are the best keyboard/mice that Logitech makes. Price is extremely good for how impressive they perform.

Great Concept, needs to go back to the lab!

This is an awesome concept but execution is in betta stage at best! In short, if you decide to purchase this product, know that you are only buying the concept because the technology in this device is not there yet! So as long as you are fine with PAYING over $100 to deal with glitchy technology and aweful customer service then I say go for it! As for me, I’m returning this puppy tomorrow! Logitech has gotten really sloppy with their products over the last couple of years. I have purchasd several Logitech products in the past (3+ years) and have always been very pleased with the quality and reliable of their technology, Logitech was a name you could trust. However, in recent years (2 yrs give or take a year) I have noticed a significant downward shift. The quality of their products have taken a dive while their prices continue to rise. Logitech Customer Service has never been great, actually pretty darn bad but this was not a big issue because the products worked, well that is no longer the story. To be more specific about my experience, I tried using the toggle with my Macbook Pro. The mouse was glitchy, not showing up on the monitor and I’d have to keep wiggling it to make it come back online. When I paired the keyboard to my iPhone. That function worked as expected but when I tried to switch back to typing on the computer, the keyboard would not pair...yet the mouse worked. I recommend Logitech send this fabulous, CONCEPT ONLY, back to the lab and refuse to release it until it represents the quality standards your company was initially founded on.

    Logitech MK850 keyboard

I wanted to like this but I can't. It seems to have a new feature that my old one did not. After a couple of minutes with no use, it goes to sleep to save energy. If I pause to read something then start typing again the keyboard doesn't log the first character I type. It seems like a small thing but happens so frequently it has become annoying. My other computers don't do this so I would have to remember this one is "special". All the online forums indicate this can't be changed via any setting so I will return this. Other than that I thought I had found the perfect keyboard.

We appreciate your feedback on the Logitech MK850. We're sorry to hear that it stopped working after two years of use. While we're glad it served you well for that time, we understand it's frustrating when devices stop functioning. We strive for long-lasting products and will use your feedback to improve future designs. Logitech

Horrible keyboard. Don't waste your money!

Do not buy it. Worth experience with this keyboard. It loses contact with the computer (blinking blue light) all the time. This is even worth it when you have large files open. I have a Dell computer with Bluetooth with a lot of memory. Use the Logitech options. Did not resolve anything. Talk to service and they tried a couple of things and then told me that it was a problem with the driver. When I asked what to do, they just disconnect me. Will never again buy anything from Logitech. Save your money!!

Used and broken out the box

The entire purchase experience with Best Buys has been horrid. I first tried purchasing a keyboard and mouse online for in same day in store pick up. Both times the orders were confirmed. I never received a notification that the order was ready. So I cancelled and decided to go into the store. Some guy, I presume loss prevention, followed me around as I tried to search for a product to purchase. I finally made the purchase, opened the box and the keyboard obviously was used. There was dirt and debris on the keyboard, one of legs on the bottom to prop up the keyboard was completely broken off and gone, and on top of all of that the keyboard didn't work. Meaning, the keyboard didn't come on at all. In summary I went through all this trouble to buy this crap only to open a box to a used and broken product. How awesome is that.

      Hi Jack,
I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with your Logitech keyboard. I suggest you look at Logitech's Keyboard assortment because each is unique in its primary functions, so some keys may be included in some keyboards but excluded from others. Also, some Logitech keyboards have a Start key instead of a Windows Key. If PrtSc shares a key, you may need to press Fn + Windows key + PrtSc. I hope you find this information helpful.
