    Awful on Mac

It jitters like crazy when scrolling on a Mac. Have to download 3rd party software to alleviate it, but that doesn’t often work. Not remotely worth $100.

The Logitech MX Master 3S is a fantastic mouse. I have had the PC Version of this mouse for some time now, and that one has been a stalwart device. Since I have an M1 Mac Mini I figured I would give my other one to my spouse and use this in its place. It does the same job I am accustomed to with extraordinary battery life, flawless tracking, and tons of buttons for mapping to different functions via the Logitech Options app. The biggest differences are that it has space grey accents instead of being totally black and does not support the old unifying receiver instead opting for primarily Bluetooth or the new bolt USB wireless receiver that it does not include. I stuck with the Bluetooth route which works great on my Mac. Syncing it is easy and with the Logi Options app available and supported on Mac everything is just as useable on Mac as on PC. Just like the PC counterpart it can be synced with 3 devices at once with a small button on the bottom as a toggle between devices. I was also able to sync it up with my iPad and it worked just as well there as on my Mac. Using a mouse on iPad is an experience that takes some getting used to, but it is a nice alternative especially if you have a keyboard for it as well. It is comfortable to use for long sessions, and I had no trouble with connectivity or tracking on tons of surfaces including a thick clear vinyl covering on my kitchen table. If you are an apple user and want a mouse that has far more functionality, battery life, and comfort than other options out there make this your first choice. It is by far my favorite mouse I have ever used alongside the PC version.

I love this mouse. I also had its predecessor, which was my favorite until this one. What's in the box: the mouse itself, usb charging cable, receiver dongle. Setup: VERY easy. You can connect this mouse via bluetooth for basic setup, with no extra software needed. You can also install the Logitech software to unlock all of the features. You do NOT need to use the dongle, but can if your computer does not have the required bluetooth hardware. Windows and Mac OS will also automatically pop up with the link to download the Logitech software if you'd like. This mouse can connect to 3 separate devices, and you switch with a simple button click on the bottom of the mouse. Use: Again, I love this mouse. The grip is very comfortable, with a nice feel. The two scroll wheels are made out of metal, and the rest of the buttons are a nice feeling plastic. The main scroll wheel has a nice click to it, and has a user adjustable speed at which the click goes away and it free wheels. You can also push a button to make it always free wheeling. The side scroll wheel does a horizontal scroll, and next to that wheel has two buttons which are adjustable but I use them for forwards and backwards (web page browsing for example). This is a laser mouse, but somehow, via magic, is able to be used on glass. This updated version also has insanely quiet . Insanely. Overall: Get this mouse. battery life is amazing and the feeling is great.

MX 3 series Mac are the best

This mouse is one of the best mice I have used to date. I have like the MX series and this one exceeds the previous models I have used. They are always smooth and very comfortable to use. This mouse can be used on quite a few surfaces including glass. The mouse has 8,000 dpi tracking. It also has gestures mode if you download the Logitech Option plus software. The mouse comes with a usb-micro to usb-micro cord for charging. I have had this mouse for a few weeks and I have not had to charge the mouse so I have not checked on how many days it holds a charge. Setting up the mouse is very easy and loading the logitech software was easy. The operation of this mouse is very smooth due to the scroll wheel (vertical). In fact you can spin the wheel very fast but it also can be very precise. There is also a horizontal scroll wheel which also is smooth. The buttons do not have the usual clicking sound but the buttons feel almost like a mechanical keyboard click. There are forward and back buttons as well which also are quiet operation. I am purchasing another one for my pc for work.

Great mouse. I also have a "regular" MX Master 3 and MX Master 3S which are almost the same, and find it super comfortable in my hand. Even though this one says it is for Mac (maybe just a coloring difference?), I got it to also work fine on my Windows computer. Smooth and responsive on my Mac Mini, MacBook Air and Windows laptop, and I love the option for multiple devices (up to 3) via the USB dongle or bluetooth. Simply flip it over and tap the button. Super convenient since I have multiple computers connected to the same monitor and keyboard setup as well. The side thumb roller wheel is great for panning large Excel files or CAD drawings. Top roller wheel smooth as well. Great battery life, and easy to connect to a charge cord and still use like an "old-time" wired mouse. Definitely recommended.

BEST MOUSE I'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME

This mouse is awesome. So many great features that I just love about it. #1. BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY: doesn't require the little usb dongle, you can't lose that, it's better range, it's super smooth, it connects every time, you can connect to up to 3 devices and quickly switch between them all as needed. The only complaint one may have here is if you're device doesn't have bluetooth (some older laptops don't) but seriously if you don't have bluetooth it's time to upgrade. #2. SUPER SILENT!!: This mouse has the quietest clicks I've ever heard, or NOT heard. It is near absolute silent with clicks, scroll wheel, even the forward/back buttons. Really nice feature not to hear the constant click - especially if you're a gamer or constant click worker like me. #3. FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE: Remastered for Mac which it work tremendously well with but this mouse is also a flawless pair with ipad, iphone, windows pc's and tablets. This mouse really does it all and is incredibly easy to setup-customize and use. Setup was scary simple, I connected it to the laptop via bluetooth and then it downloaded, installed and opened the customization software all without me needing to do anything!!! I was the quickest and easiest mouse setup/customization I've ever done! #4. ERGONOMIC DESIGN: This has a nice ergonomic, well-contoured design. The curves and shapes are nice. Only complaint here is that it seems a little too large top to bottom for me. I'm average size male, hands aren't small but not huge and this just seems a little thick in my palm. Some may like this feel, some may not, just a personal preference I think and how much you like your wrist flexed or not. #5. USB-C CHARGE/QUICK CHARGE: Super speedy charge and awesome battery life. I love that the app shows charge level and updates as it charges so I know where battery life is at any given moment. The mouse came about 50% charged, took about an hour to top off to 100% and I've been using it about 2 weeks without need another charge yet so fantastic battery life as well. Overall this is just a superb specimen of a mouse for a mix of any usage. I've had a lot of them over the years and this one is about the best one I've had for all the reasons listed above. Just a really solid all-around great device.

    Great Mouse, Inadequate software

Now I’ve personally been using the MX series of mice from Logitech for years. When they decided to release a version of the MX line for Mac I was thrilled. Finally, a mouse that I can use with my MacBook that isn’t a magic mouse and will work wonders for my carpel tunnel. Look and Feel The mouse is nice and large. Feels great on my palms and after using it for at least 8 hours straight, I’ll admit that it is the most comfortable mouse I’ve ever used. The buttons are perfectly placed, my only gripe about the actual mouse buttons, they aren’t loud. They are silent, I think Logitech was trying to go for the same tactile feel of the MacBook’s touchpad, and I will say for what it’s worth it succeeds in this. But it’s still too silent. I like a more classic feel to my clicks. I don’t like the textured feel of it. Overall I give the look and feel of the mouse an 8/10 just because of the clicking. Software and Performance Now, on the software end… It was quite annoying installing the software for the mouse. It had me download one version of the app, then it directed me to download the plus version of the app, and then when I wanted to actually perform an update on the firmware, it had me download a different app, which then it didn’t even recognize it or see that the mouse was being used. But once the software was configured properly, the actual customization of the mouse was seamless. The fact that it has app-specific profiles and performs different functions was amazing. One second I’m in photoshop editing photos, and with the simple move of the horizontal scroll wheel, I was able to switch brushes in a snap. Then with the gesture controls, I can seamlessly add a new layer. The complexity yet simplicity of the customization options are phenomenal. Logitech needs to make better decisions when it comes to the apps and their naming conventions. Or at least streamline the process like Corsair and just have 1 software that manages all the products. Overall the customization of the mouse features is something they should continue to do even on Windows platforms. Also to note… increasing the mouse to 8K DPI… INSANITY!!!! Can’t even see the cursor move. It’s like overclocking your mouse! Can’t wait to see what it’s like in a game. Overall I give the software and performance a solid 6/10 due to the hoops and ladders needed to install it and also because I’m still not able to do a firmware update. I give the MX Master 3S for Mac a solid 7.5/10. Just gotta fix some bugs and quirks here and there, but this is truly a solid entry into the Mac space with a mouse that I believe surpasses the Magic Mouse 2 in all its glory with comfortability and more features.

I've been a long time admirer of the MX Master Series of mice for a while now, but was put off by the price as if I'm dropping around $100 on a mouse I want it to be gaming focused. But as I said, I was super excited to get the MX Master 3S in for review as From the first touch of this mouse felt like heaven. Has a nice weight to it and sturdy feel while remaining comfortable to use. Clicking the buttons was nice and tactile and the scroll wheels are addictive to just spin through. The silent clicks of the left and right buttons make minimal noise as that is what the "S" in 3S stands for. So it'd do great in a office environment. Set up was super simple with my M1 Mac Mini. The software to modify and adjust the functions of the device was very intuitive and offers a wide range to make it feel like mine. There's even specific functions dependent on the web browser you utilize to make quick actions or macros. I unfortunately don't have a real use for the side scroll button, but I do use as sort of stress release as it gives my thumb something to do. Overall I am in love with the Logitech MX Master 3S mouse with my current Apple Setup. The device switching function will come in handy when I decide to grab a MacBook at later date.

I remember when the original MX Master mouse came out...I wanted it so badly, but I couldn't justify the price, at least at the time. But I couldn't justify the price because I hadn't experienced what that price brings. I've been writing reviews on Logitech products for years now, and every time I'm asked for a recommendation on a keyboard or mouse, I direct friends and family to the Logitech MX series of devices. I thought when the Master 3 mouse landed it was great, but that it had reached a sort of equilibrium wherein no further significant improvements would be made. Still, when it came time to get my hands on the 3S, I didn't hesitate. Straight out of the box, I thought I was looking at the MX Master 3, and side by side, they are basically indistinguishable. The same curves, same design, same pattern. Even using it, thanks to some really great software, it was a very familiar and enjoyable experience. But the click. The MX line recently got into mechanical keyboards, which was a nice change for people who don't love chiclet style keyboards like I do. And they did the MX Mechanical reasonably well, tailoring to the preferences of people who like devices who make a lot of noise (satisfyingly so). But what about the rest of us, who want super quiet devices? The MX Master 3S gives a click experience unlike the 3, or the 2S or the 2. It's soft, gentle, and it's quiet. In some applications, I am a very heavy keyboard user. I am a project manager by trade, so I take a lot of notes and rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts. But sometimes, I'm reliant upon quick, often monotonous mouse movements with a lot of clicking...and during these marathon mouse sessions (longtime Logi fans...you know what I did there), that high pitched and often times sharp click can get very annoying. Even moreso if it's coming from the desk next to you. Well, this is a problem of the past. The only potential downside to this very light click is that it's very easy to click the left mouse button...sometimes resulting in accidental presses. This is something I'm sure I'll adjust to over time. And in all these years since the original MX Master mouse, the price hasn't changed...$99 buys you one of the best mouse experiences, hands down (pun intended). Now, if you currently own the MX Master 2S or 3, I'm not sure you need to spring for the upgrade...but if you're not using something in the MX line, that's a problem you should address immediately. Just buy it...you won't regret it.
