I had nothing but trouble with this keyboard. Had a very difficult time trying to customize the F keys. Too expensive for no more than what you can do with it in my opinion.

Great Quality Keyboard with no compromises

The Logitech mx mechanical keyboard is the best keyboard I have used in years. The keyboard has many features and that I found myself using more that I thought I would. The backlit keys are great. The keys have great feedback and travel distance is just right. One feature I love the most is being able to have different profiles for different devices connected via bluetooth. From what I have seen you do not have to use the included dongle and can connect to the device directly. I have a windows device and a Mac that I have to switch between during the course of the day and the seamless transition from one device to another has been amazing. The battery life is amazing. I've had the keyboard for about 2 weeks now and the battery level is still showing 100% after fulling charging on the first day. The only downside I have found with the keyboard so far is that I have not found a key that maps to the option key on Mac. This could be a mapping issue on my part. Everything else has been great.

Sounds troublesome! Make sure the product or receiver is connected directly to the computer and not to a hub, extender, switch or something similar. Keep other electrical wireless devices away from the USB receiver to avoid interference. Also, move the device closer to the USB receiver. If your receiver is in the back of your computer, it may help to relocate the receiver to a front port. In some cases the receiver signal gets blocked by the computer case, causing a delay.

I like the keyboard. The extra functions and the quick switching between devices is the major selling point. Major flaw is that the keyboard flex is really bad. I transport this keyboard with me from home, school and work. Noticed that if I just tossed it in my bag it would flex and stay bent. I would have to bend it back straight. I ended up getting a hard shell carrying case for it but it still flexes really bad. Didn’t notice it till after the 30 day return period was over so I couldn’t return it anymore.

The Logitech MX mechanical keyboard is a new professional keyboard that brings the best of gaming keyboards to the business world. The keyboard is wireless and connects with Bluetooth LE or the included Logitech dongle if your computer does not have Bluetooth. The keyboard is rechargeable lasting up to 15 days with lighting on or 10 months with it turned off. The keyboard is outfitted with Low-profile backlit mechanical switches with smooth feel and reduced actuation depth are great for typing. There are 3 switch types available the Tactile quiet, Linear or clicky. I have the tactile quiet keys and I think I would prefer the clicky type as they provide additional tactile feedback. The backlighting has what Logitech calls smart illumination automatically turning on when your hands approach the keys extending the battery life. You can use the Logi Options+ application to change the effects or directly from the keyboard by pressing the Function and bulb key. The keyboard has programmable keys and can be configured to have the function or media keys active with direct keypresses. The Logi Options+ application allows you to set the backlighting pattern, customize key functions, gives status and notifications and supports Logitech Flow. With flow you can copy content on one device and past it to another paired device even across operating systems. You can pair the keyboard with up to 3 devices and it supports all major operating systems. The keyboard layout is optimized for both Windows and Apple Macintosh. The keyboard has a built in battery and has a USB C charge port Logitech includes an USB A to USB C cable. You can get a full days use with just 15 minutes of charging. The build quality is great with an aluminum frame giving a solid feel and good weight. Logitech has made the keys and other plastic parts from 45% recycled plastic. Logitech has created a great keyboard with quality hardware and well thought out software to the business world!

That's unfortunate! Refer the mentioned steps and check if that helps to resolve the issue: 1. Verify the product or receiver is connected directly to the computer and not to a hub, extender, switch or something similar. 2. Move the device closer to the USB receiver. If your receiver is in the back of your computer, it may help to relocate the receiver to a front port. In some cases the receiver signal gets blocked by the computer case, causing a delay. 3. Keep other electrical wireless devices away from the USB receiver to avoid interference. 4. Try on a different computer. Incase if the issue still persists, reach out to Logitech Support Team.

This keyboard makes me sad. The backlight is basically a scam and I'm kind of annoyed nobody mentioned it before. The backlight turns off after 3 or 5 second of non use and there is no setting to keep it on longer. This makes the keyboard useless at night or in a dark setting. If I'm being honest I really like this keyboard and how it feels.. but I will be returning it. Also apparently people have been asking for this option for a long time and no software support has come. So nope. No good. 0 starts if I could.

    Very Convenient for Multiple Devices

I'm a huge proponent of Logitech devices. I've gone through multiple keyboards and mice of theirs over the years. The few times I've used a different brand because I thought it would be a better experience, I always end up exchanging it for a Logitech. I'm no stranger to Logitech's mechanical keyboards, I use the G815 full size wired keyboard on my gaming computer (linear switches), and absolutely love everything about it. I was excited to try out the new MX Mechanical keyboard, as well as to experience a different set of MX keys. Let's discuss the setup first before anything else. It's SUPER simple. I have a work laptop that I'm not allowed to install software on, which is needed to get the multi-os functionality to work properly. I was able to setup my Macbook at home with the Logi Options + software in minutes. The best part is that once I paired my work laptop via Bluetooth, I could make changes to that device profile back on my Macbook. So with only needing software on one computer, I was able to successfully pair two different OSs. This is huge since when using a "windows" keyboard on a Mac it's really inconvenient because it will always use the Windows Key location for Command vs the "Alt" Key (same location as command on Mac Keyboard). The device switching takes seconds, and it is able to properly switch between Windows and Apple keyboard layouts (and the keys are printed with both OS's keyboard functionality on them). Charging via the USB-C cable is great, I'm excited that more and more devices are switching to USB-C. I will say one thing I'm disappointed in is the inability to hide the receiver on the keyboard. Devices I've used in the past had a slot you could safely tuck the receiver into for travel, unfortunately not the case here. However the Logi receivers are always really tiny so it isn't a problem to leave it in your computer when you travel but it would have been nice for them to include that like they used to. I haven't been able to test out battery life as it's only been a week, but I have no doubts that the 15 day use time is accurate. I also have the backlights set to only show keystrokes instead of constant illumination. The claimed 15 day battery is with the lights always on, so I would guess that I'll be able to go longer than 15 days. The keys are excellent, they are very similar to my G815's Linear switches in sound but the Tactile switches here have a bit more resistance (like they should) before activating. I would say they're more clicky sounding, but not nearly as clicky as the "clicky" switches would be. My personal preference would still be the Linear or Clicky switches, though since this is a work keyboard mostly, I'm glad I'm not that guy clacking away on a loud keyboard.

Quiet, Feature Rich Keyboard, Excellent Touch

The Logitech MX Mechanical keyboard is a feature rich wireless keyboard. I wanted to remove the wire clutter across my desktop and a wireless keyboard and mouse were the ticket. The keyboard comes with a usb-c charging cable, Logitech Bolt dongle, and some pictogram instructions and safety warnings. Setup is easy, Bluetooth or dongle, I chose Bluetooth to connect with my (Windows) desktop. Paired immediately, installed the Logi+ options utility (highly recommended, more later) and I was up and running. The keyboard came partially charged, but was sufficient for the first day and I charged it fully overnight. It's been on for four days and still pretty fully charged. Typing is fast and quiet. The keys are short throw, with excellent tactile feedback and a very soft click. Although the keyboard is full size, there is no wasted space between keys and there are about a half dozen 'extra' keys. The function keys do double duty as 'media control' keys, but can be 'locked' as either function or media control keys. You select the mode with 'function+esc', and can access the alternate key function with the 'function' key. Using the Options utility, all the function keys can be programmed bring up any app. The Options utility also documents the special key functions, which is very handy since the included documentation is pretty skimpy. A rather brilliant feature is that the Logi MX keyboard can be paired with up to three devices and switched between them, like a built in KVM switch. There are three keys to select the active device. This actually worked really well, I was able to switch between the desktop and my TV streaming box without having to re-pair each time. Construction is quite solid, with a metal top, good heft, and nice rubber feet so it won't slide around. The backlight is a nice touch. Brightness can be set from the keyboard or the Options app and can be turned off entirely to save battery life. There are several lighting patterns, although there is really only one that you can use while at the keyboard. The others are just distracting while you're actually working. Speaking of battery life, it's claimed at up to 15 days with the backlight enabled and 10 months with backlight off. I'll probably just charge it once a week or so. So far, the only real downside I've found is that there is no place to store the (unused) Bolt dongle; it would have been nice if Logi had provided a little hideaway storage like they do with their mice. All-in-all, the Logitech MX Mechanical is a good, solid replacement wireless keyboard with excellent touch and loads of features. A MX 'Mini' is also available if you prefer a more compact keyboard. Highly recommended!
