No extra software required to get it running on Windows 10 or Mac OS 10.12.3. If you want to use the special features such as manual focus, zoom and pan, you will need to download and install software from Logitech. In case you are wondering, this is the exact same hardware as the C930e business model. In fact, it is detected by Windows as a C930e. The only differences are the packaging and the warranty (the Pro Webcam has a 2-year and the C930e has 3-year). There was a firmware update available on Logitech's site for the C930e but it is actually older than the one that was already installed on the camera. The software offereings are very sparse for this product which is probably the correct marketing approach these days. It is assumed you will use this product with another vendor's application. They do provide a small utility to control the focus, pan, and zoom functions locally and remotely over Skype and a few other apps and that's about it. You will have to load up your application first to see what effect your settings are having on the image. There is a similar app available in the Mac App Store for the Macintosh. The quality of the picture is very good even in low light conditions. It is heads and shoulders above my older Logitech 9000 Pro. The privacy shutter is a nice touch although you will always know when the camera is on by the white LED ring around the lens glowing. There isn't a way to shut it off in the present software. I haven't tried out the H.164 compression features yet so can't comment on how well that works with streaming.

Works well. Only issue is sometimes it can be a little finicky with focusing. I'm mainly using it as a cat cam so that isn't a big issue. Definitely worth buying on sale.

I bought this camera for use with Skype, the set up was simple and super self explanatory. The actual quality of the camera is phenomenal and the wide angle lens is so perfect for capturing an entire room (almost).

I absolutely loved this camera. It could capture in 1080p at 30fps, and the wide field of view was great too! However, I had to return it because it was constantly freezing whenever I tried to use it. Every few seconds, the camera would randomly freeze, even when connected using USB 3.0.

I wish it had its own recording software. The G Hub is great, but it was very unclear that it was only to set the webcam up.

Its a good camera. A LOT more costly than the previous generation of its kind and not quite sure why. The picture is okay but I honestly don’t see the difference between my macbook pro built-in cam and this one.

This camera has the worst packaging ever. It does not need all this package for this small camera. My hands have so many nox cuts just trying to get it out. I am returning just because of this.
