Comfortable, Clean Sound, Can Hear the Footsteps

I’ve been testing this headset for the past several days and I have to say it’s replaced my daily driver for gaming and It’ll probably be my main headset for work from home as well. Logitech seems like they really strived to make the best sounding headphones while also being appealing to pro gamers who are willing to use this product while having great quality and comfort that you need with hours of use on the daily. Sound is probably the first thing to dive into the details on. I don’t have the ear to tell the difference between a graphene driver and a neodymium driver, but what I will say is that these sound clean. I don’t hear any distortion or static at louder volumes. I can tell the difference whether it’s connect to my KVM switch or directly to the computer I’m using it on. I recommend plugging the wireless adapter directly into the PC as I got some static when using a hub. Also sounds really good when connected via headphone jack. As for sound profile, I prefer music without surround sound activated. I feel like there is unintentional volume leveling happening and I don’t get a consistent sound. Once I turned it off, I played with the EQ until I got the sound mix I like for music. I do wish there was a few extra sliders in the EQ for a finer level of control but this seems to be the standard for gaming headphones. Speaking of gaming, you want to flip that surround sound back on, because buddy, you can hear those footsteps running up behind you. Talk about anxiety. I tested this in Call of Duty MWII. I just played a few small maps where I knew I would have people frequently running around the map. You can hear the footsteps coming but I’m not trained well enough to pinpoint exactly where the enemy was popping up at. It was a lot of fun to experience the game in a different way than I had before. The next shining feature is the sound quality of the microphone and your ability to customize how you sound. Blue microphone is a technology owned by Logitech which specializes in making great sounding broadcasting microphones to try and pick up the most natural sound and detailed sound from your surroundings. These very sensitive instruments also allow for a detailed level of customization and playback features where you can make changes to how you sound in real time. It can be very important in competitive gaming to have a clear and heard voice because missing a call-out could be the difference between winning and losing. When it comes to streaming, you want your viewers to have a great listening experience as well. I’m not sure it replaces a dedicated microphone but if you’re looking to get great sound input and sound output all in the same product, I’d say these checks both boxes. Design and build quality are what I would consider in the premium category. The ear cuffs are comfortable use a leather cushion. The leather ones are swappable with a plush like material, not sure what to call it, but if you prefer that type of material, you can swap them out. I love this because if they get damaged or worn, you can just replace them. They’re USB type C rechargeable like all things should be, there’s a volume wheel and dedicated buttons for mute and modes. There is a slight swivel forward and full 90 degree swing back to allow contouring to your head as well as laying around your neck on the collar bone. It’s a mixed bag, but I like headphones that swivel with the ear cups facing down, which these do. The ear cuffs mount to a metal bracket that connects to the metal head band. The same leather cushion covers the headband and I’ve not had any fatigue at all on the top of my head with it. No issues with design or comfort. There is a few preferences I would have liked to have seen with the controls. The dedicated mute button makes a tone to indicate mute or unmuted, but I think it’s too subtle of a difference between on and off. I would have liked to have something less subtle, so I know for sure when I hit the button, which way It’s going. For now I just remember, button in, it’s on, button out, it’s off. Also, there’s no simultaneous Bluetooth/lightspeed mode. It’s one or the other. I’d say most people are probably buying this for gaming and will use the dongle on their gaming computer, but I also use my peripherals for work, so it would have been nice to have dual use. Switching, however, isn’t hard and it connects very quickly to your Bluetooth device and back to the lightspeed adapter. Again, a more aggressive indicator to which your using would be nice. A voiceover being the preference. Overall, I really like these headphones. I’ve adjusted to using these all day for work (music and podcasts when not using for meetings). Then I transition to gaming for a few hours before I take them off. Battery life is superb at 50 hours and I can use 3 or 4 days before it needs a charge. I really need Logitech to make a hard case for them so I can pack them with me without fear of banging around in my laptop bag.

    Excellent Headset for Gaming!

I can't say it enough that love this headset! It is so comfortable, the sound quality is excellent - for both the speakers and the microphone, and the battery life is amazing! I charged the headset the day I received it, have been wearing it for at least 30 hours, and the battery is only down to 68%. It can connect to a computer via Bluetooth, the included Lightspeed dongle, or the included cable. I initially had a glitch when connected via Bluetooth, but either the Logitech software or Windows updated, and the error was fixed. In the process, I learned that Logitech support was also great when I spoke to them. The person on the phone actually listened to me and did not read from a script, so I was happy. At this point, the headset is working perfectly. If you have any issues, make sure the software and headset firmware are up to date since they recently pushed out an update. I highly recommend connecting via Lightspeed so everything can run through the Logitech G Hub software. It is extremely simple to use because Lightspeed is plug-and-play. It is as convenient as plugging a cable into an audio jack because the headset instantly connects to the dongle with no additional pairing. G Hub has some really impressive features like allowing people to fine-tune the speaker EQ settings along with every channel of 7.1 surround sound. Whether listening to music, game audio, or phone calls, I am happy with the high-quality audio. It sounds great whether loud or quiet. The bass is deep without distortion, but high-pitched pin drops are just as clear.  When it comes to the microphone, they have Blue Voice which blew me away. It has a ton of effects, both for fun and for professional use. Besides the entertaining effects like alien voices and things like that, it has a few professional broadcast profiles which clean up the sound to make the microphone audio crisp, clean, and a little deeper than my natural sound, without it being obnoxious or obvious that it is running through a processor.  Within each setting, they even have faders for fine-tuning the sounds. The microphone is also great at picking up voice while filtering out background noise such as pops, hisses, and my clothes dryer. While my webcam picks up the dryer loud and clear from the other room, the headset mic completely filters it out. I specifically tried the headset out on one of my games that is completely controlled by voice. It requires a good microphone to properly hear the commands and the headset worked perfectly with it.  This headset is comfortable to wear for hours on end. With the microphone being detachable, I can plug it in when needed or have it unplugged when I know I will not be using it. There are two different types of earpads included - memory foam leatherette and breathable velour. They are labeled with large, bright, contrasting letters inside the pads showing L or R, instead of the typical letters barely visible in the plastic of the headset. It makes it so easy to know which way to wear the headset when the mic is not attached. Another great feature of this headset is the tactile controls, including a rotating wheel for volume, a latching switch for the microphone mute, a sliding switch for power, and a momentary switch to switch between Bluetooth and Lightspeed. This makes it absolutely simple to activate the various features with little effort. I can feel whether or not the mic is muted or the power is on without having to look. The rotating wheel for volume allows for fine control instead of the typical 5-10 stops before the minimum or maximum levels. There are no playback controls on the headset, but this is not intended to be used for mobile uses. I would not want to be traveling or working out with this high-quality gaming headset, but I could not ask for better features when sitting at my desk.

I don't know where these great reviews came from, the surround sound on this is awful if you're playing valorant. The surround sound would be great for something like a movie but gaming? no way. You cant tell where the minor sounds are like footsteps cause they all sounds like theyre literally surrounding you. Theres no actual directional surround sound happening. Besides that, I used the lightspeed mode and it randomly disconnected twice and ive played for 2 hours... so otherwise the headset is nice. Can't speak for the mic because i use a separate mic. I did adjust the settings and nothing helped. Also the BASS is so loud!! .. whats the point of that...

i love these headphones and all but the one things that sucks is that these keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting mid activity no matter what i do, even if i delete the driver or update doesnt work. nothing online helps and i tried talking to a logitech customer service they couldnt help. and i found out that I am not the only one that is having this happen too, like is this only happening to my pair or are they fixed on other pairs. but overall great headphones js if i pay 250 for a pair of headphones they shouldnt be disconnecting like that every 10-20 minutes

These aren’t small, and for the size they are light but they certainly aren’t lightweights. If your number one priority is that you can travel extremely easily with them, I wouldn’t not recommend them, as I just took them on a trip where I only used a carry on with them, but they were a tad bulky. But if you are looking for a legit gaming headset that has some amazing features that all headsets (especially work ones) should have, then these may be the ones for you. Let’s start with comfort, what you give up for compactness you get back in build quality, looks, and comfort, I can easily wear these all day, though the leather pads make my ears get a little hot I love how they feel. But the more import feature is they they fit snuggly on my head without squeezing it and giving me a headache. One feature I almost always complain about is how headphones struggle switching between devices, these don’t switch automatically at all, there is a button to switch in between, it is absolutely perfect, I love it, I have the wireless dongle plugged into my laptop docking station (unless I’m gaming directly on my laptop) and Bluetooth hooked to my phone. Then I just hit the button to switch in between without having to shut one off after the auto transfer features fails. It’s absolutely amazing and leaves me wondering why other headsets don’t have this feature. I love that the mic detaches so I can just use them as a headset, and on top of that I love the mute button that is easy to tell what whether I am muted for meetings mostly as I use push to talk for gaming so I don’t have to reach for the mute button. The mic is also flexible and retains it shape so you place it exactly where you want. The best quality I’ve found for the mic is actually through the wireless adapter, hooked up to aux it works good but not amazingly, through the adapter and Bluetooth the quality is excellent. The power seems to last forever on these, they go and go. To top it off if you do kill them, the headset and mic work with the aux (that is 3.5mm on both sides) with no power. This seems like a given but it’s not always in my experience. One thing to note (which does make sense) is that the volume control doesn’t work when the headset is off and connected with aux. Lastly, they sound great. Overall, the only bad thing I have to say out these is the dongle is USB A and a little big, it should be USB C like the charging port on the headset itself. Pros: - Great build quality - Physical mute button - On/off switch (versus a button) - Volume control scroll wheel on headset - Manual switch between Bluetooth and wireless connection - Comfortable - Detachable Mic - L/R extreme visible before you put them on - Works via aux for mic and speakers without power - Sound great - Excellent battery life - Good fit Cons: - Not exactly compact though they fold into a manageable size - Dongle is large - Dongle is USB A

The Logitech G PRO X 2 Lightspeed is phenomenal. I've been looking for a proper gaming headset for my son headed into the summer. We work from home, so reducing the gaming noise from his room while my husband and I are working is critical for our concentration. This is THE headset and he absolutely loves it. The battery life is no joke. It arrived already charged about 70% and after a week of gaming - all weekend and most evenings - the headset is still going strong. No doubt it can hit the 50 hours of life on a charge as promised. My son literally forgets that he's wearing the headset because it's so comfortable. I had to suggest that he take a break from it when he was just watching videos and not actually gaming online with his friends because he was still wearing it. The audio is incredibly clear using the Lightspeed headset. My son had a no clue how much he was missing in the audio of games using just the speakers on his laptop. He even said in one game it was so much better than listening through the laptop speakers that it sounded like a rock concert. Clear audio brings so much more life to his gaming experience. Lots of pros for this headset. The one challenge we've experienced is that occasionally the microphone seems to disconnect. The audio connection is retained, but the microphone doesn't work so we'll have to play with that a bit more to see if there's some gap we're missing that's causing that experience. Aside from that one issue, this is a fantastic headset. Perfect for online gaming whether it's online with friends or just gaming solo. I highly recommend this headset.

The audio is super clear, great for gaming to hear low sneaky sounds. The 50mm Graphene drivers provide clear surrounding audio with low distortion—game sound cues from footsteps and actions pickups are easy to discern. This is a true Pro gaming headset and worth the wait for the new release. I truly love the wireless feature and rivals wired headset, the battery life is off the chart at easily 40 plus real time hours I have gotten. The wireless range is fantastic as well, I think it is like readily 70 feet of pure clarity and noise that is truly non existent. Console compatibility with popular gaming systems from PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. I do not do a lot of team play but the communication from the 6mm detachable microphone boom with Blue VO!CE technology allows you to communicate with clarity. The headset are fairly comfortable for long term gaming with noise isolating soft memory foam earpads and pretty cool on the ear. The price is very competitive considering the quality build, battery life, wireless range and the clarity of the microphone.

Great headset for Gaming. One small issue w/mine

Genuinely love these headphones, they sit well on my head and are easily adjusted. The button functionality is great, easy to mute, easy to switch the device you are paired to, easy to change volume. Nice sleep feature if you leave them on accidentally. Great battery life. I am by no means an audiophile but the sound quality is great for gaming and for listening to music. My only complaint, and this may be specific to my headphones, there is a strange snap/click sound that randomly occurs in the ear pieces. The headphones don't seem damaged in any way but 4-5 times now in the couple weeks I have owned them they will randomly snap/click in my ear and it's a painful sound. The best I can compare it to is the sound of something arcing within the ear piece but it happens at random times, like I said 4-5 times total in several weeks while wearing the headset multiple hours a day. If it were not for this then the headset would be perfect. Frustrating for such an expensive pair of headphones.

Potential Is There, But Not There Yet

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

SYNOPSIS The Pro X2 has potential, but needs a firmware update to fix the odd sound quality using the lightspeed connection, until then, look elsewhere. INITIAL SET-UP I am fortunate to own several Logitech G products. As with any other of my G products, initial set-up is simple and straightforward. Once you download and install the G Hub software, you plug in the device and are good to go. The G Hub software is simple and gives you full information on your products including battery level, onboard memory settings, current profile, and firmware. It is slick and reliable. USE Like all my other G branded Logitech products, these headphones continue to impress with their premium look and robust design. Logitech has wisely chosen to stray from the rest of their competition and omit all traces of RGB lighting?!?! Just when you thought a premium product couldn’t be found that didn’t have some form of EDM lightshow, Logitech comes through. Nice touch Logitech. Much appreciated. The new Pro X2’s have just about any and every connection you could think of, or need, covered for use. They can be hooked up via an old school 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C, Bluetooth, and via their Lightspeed dongle. As a bonus, if you don’t have a 3.5mm connection & desire its use, there is one built-in to the Lightspeed dongle. Super thoughtful! The Pro X2’s feature the requisite 50mm drivers that are now standard and expected in premium headphones. The sound quality is good without being bass heavy like many of Logitech’s competitors. Logitech has done a good job of tuning the headphones for accuracy vs bass heavy sound reproduction. It works well for gaming, keeping the audio clearer without muffling footsteps and ambient noises during FPS games, but leaves a little on the table for music. The mic plugs in via a single 3.5mm connection but does not flip up and down. Some like that feature where flipping the mic up shuts it off and pulling it back down turns in on. Whatever your tastes are there is no argument that the sound quality of the mic is very good. Voices come through clear, clean, and intelligible and Logitech’s Blue Sound algorithms do a great job at evening out and cleaning up spoken words even during the most intense battles. NEGATIVES As far as negatives, I’ll get right to it and the reason I can’t recommend the headphones – It’s the weird audio quality using the Logitech Lightspeed dongle. The G Hub software says it is using DTS audio processing with the Lightspeed dongle, but if it is, something is amiss. Audio is muffled, muted, and is often hard to understand spoken words from games or other players. This problem can be alleviated by plugging in the included 3.5mm audio cable, but at that point what is purpose of buying a wireless set of headphones? No matter what setting I tried in the G Hub software, I could not get decent audio quality from the Lightspeed connection. Even turning all audio processing off failed to correct the issue. This odd sound quality is only exhibited while using the Logitech Lightspeed connection. The sound quality is restored to normal when using any of the other available connections: Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio or USB. The Lightspeed dongle is supposed to provide a high-speed, wireless connection between the headphones and the PC eliminating the dreaded Bluetooth audio lag. Unfortunately, the sound quality is so poor, I resorted to using my PC’s Bluetooth connection and letting my DTS Sound Unbound app (which includes DTS Headphone X) to control the audio processing. Thinking it surely was a user error or computer issue, I installed the G Hub software on my son’s computer and let him try the Pro X2’s. After about an hour into a gaming session and multiple different attempts at using the G Hub software, he came out and gave them back to me. He was not impressed. Said the sound quality was terrible and went back to using his much less expensive headphones from a Logitech competitor. Lastly, and this is only a matter of preference, not a necessarily a ding on Logitech, is the fact that the mic doesn’t swing up and down. Like my son, I also like the convenience of being able to swing the mic arm up and down to quickly disconnect the mic. Not a deal breaker by any means, but a matter of preference. CONCLUSIONS The Pro X2’s have a lot going for them. They have a premium look and feel. Come with 2 different ear cup materials and are light enough that they would surely satisfy any gamer. In addition, they offer an impressive 50 hours of battery life. These headphones have the ability to reproduce good audio quality, but the Lightspeed dongle and connection that Logitech wants you to love and use isn’t ready yet. Plugging in the dongle deactivates any form of PC audio processing, relying solely on the Logitech software and it doesn’t work correctly. Quite honestly, audio quality using the Lightspeed dongle and Logitech software is quite poor whether it be for games, movies, or music. Fortunately, the Pro X2’s have many different connection options and you can defeat the Lightspeed dongle and enjoy that premium Logitech sound, but that also defeats the purpose of these headphones. I have no doubt Logitech can fix the issues with a firmware update, but until they can, I would look elsewhere. NOT RECOMMENDED

Hello, NAMO! I'm sorry to hear that you're having audio issues with your G Pro X 2 headset over Lightspeed. I would recommend making sure nothing needs an update in G Hub. If you have already done this, I would then recommend reaching out to our support team here https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000621393 for more troubleshooting or filing a warranty claim, as they are not supposed to sound muffled over Lightspeed. Thank you for the feedback! I will be passing this along. - Maggie from Logitech G
