I think it is much better. I need to use a mouse pad with the 510 for it to track well. This mouse works well on most surfaces.

The build of the mouse is for those that like higher grips. The side buttons is a bit out of reach and you would have to hold the mouse a bit higher up in order to get full utility. The program that is pairs with does not have DPI settings.

It's lost contact with my computer a few times, necessitating a reboot, but it doesn't happen very often. Most of the time it works well. Worth the price.
