Customers are saying

Customers highly value the keyboard quality and the protective case, frequently praising its ease of use and convenient stand. Many appreciate the long battery life and find the price reasonable for the features offered. However, some users note that the added weight and bulkiness of the case are drawbacks, and a few experienced issues with the keyboard connection and magnet strength.

Nice Keyboard Case for the 10.5

I almost avoided this case because of all the negative reviews, but decided to take a chance because of BB's return policy. I found the keyboard to be outstanding to type on (using it now), nice backlit keys, and an overall nice feel. I have no problem using this case on my lap unlike others. The smart connection is flawless and although somewhat wobbly doesn't create any issues for me. The ability to remove the iPad from the keyboard is another nice feature. One reviewer complained about the lip around the iPad not being flush. Personally I find this a plus because it protects the screen better. I previously tried the Zagg keyboard case and really wanted to like it but kept getting double keystrokes and returned it for the Logitech. I’m very satisfied with this case. Although I wouldn’t call it a “slim case” I don’t find the thickness as a negative because of the quality of the keyboard in general. I gave it 4 stars because I feel that the connection platform should have been a more solid foundation. It’s not really a flaw, just could have been a little more stable. All in all, the great quality one would expect from Logitech.

As much as I wanted to love this keyboard/case for the iPad Pro 10.5, I simply couldn’t due to the following: Cons -The magnet that connects the iPad to the keyboard isn’t strong enough and easily detaches -Kickstand feels cheap and flimsy though it provides several viewing angle adjustments -Keyboard shortcut keys isn’t as useful as the ones from ZAGG Rugged Messenger Book Pros: -Keyboard keys are comfortable enough to type in -Keys have good travel distance -Backlite keys -Shortcut keys -Uses the smart connector rather than Bluetooth -No need to charge keyboard. Uses the iPad as its main source of power -Protects the iPad completely from drops -Keyboard detaches from iPad case via magnets -Case has a pen holder -Thin enough compared to ZAGG Rugged Messenger Book but not as thin and light as Apple’s own keyboard/case

    Fully Featured Keyboard, Bulky Design

    Posted .

For a keyboard that is easy to setup and use, and doesn't lack any of the features that make an iPad keyboard great (shortcuts, ease of use), this is an A+ keyboard. I love how easy it is to connect to the iPad - it simply magnetically clips to those three little holes on the side of the iPad that I never knew what they did before. But that's also one of the things I dislike about it. The keyboard part of the folio can fairly easily come un-"clipped" from those magnetic holes. Not while you're using it, but if you fold the folio and go to open it back up you'll sometimes have to realign the magnets. I also find the overall design of the keyboard to be kind of clunky. It's definitely slim, but the part of the folio that clips to the iPad itself feels kind of cheap, and the stand isn't the best designed compared to other keyboard folios. Overall I think this is a fantastic keyboard folio, and none of them are going to be perfect. You either sacrifice features or protection. The features this one lacks are design-based. But the keyboard itself is top notch!

Awesome Case. Best for Photoshop Drawing

I use the Astropad app to mirror my mac and you can use Photoshop to draw and edit photograph. This is the best case for a strong and sturdy stand to use the ipad is that type of way. This case has gone through a lot with the year that i've had it. I'd produced art and designs for many jobs just using the Ipad with pixelmator. The ipad and this case is a great combo for when you put it on a table. If you want to do put this on your lap. don't expect anythign it to have results. There's no great ipad stand that works on your lap unless your small. You just need a laptop for that.

    Great idea, Poor Execution

This keyboard case meets the need to protect the iPad. The keyboard itself is also very comfortable with all the special keys expected. The kick stand works well and also works with the keyboard on my lap. The issue with this is the connection point! The magnetic connection seems great, in that it uses power from the iPad, the BIG DOWNSIDE is that the connection is very intermittent. It does not stay connected after the iPad case has not been used for an hour, I have to pull it apart and reconnect. It also stops working while typing some times. I was hoping this would be a great solution to replace my Clamcase, but alas it is not. Unfortunately the Clamcase has yet to be released for the 10.5 iPad. Logitech is Average at best. I'm going to try Zagg!

    Great Keyboard and Option

Pros: The unit is a nice addition to the new 10.5" iPad Pro. It provides a solid hard rear cover with fantastic ability to angle the display much more so than previous covers for the iPad. The keyboard face is easily detachable and is powered and lit when attached and it does not use much power at all. The keys feel great to me and replicate the MacBook in my opinion. The backlighting is good and dimmable just like the MacBooks. Cons: When keyboard is attached it is a bit thick but the protection if excellent. I believe the distance between the screen and the keyboard is the reason for the thickness and understand keeping the keys from rubbing on the screen but would like to see it get a little more thin as improvements are made.

    Nice attempt, failed execution

I purchased this keyboard case as soon as it was available for the Ipad pro 10.5". I like the concept that logitech was going for, but they produced a very flawed product. First off, there is nothing slim about this case...it's bulky and heavy. It easily adds about 4 to 5 times the size of the ipad without a case. They designed it with a rounded back to the part that hold the ipad....so it wobbles if you are just using that part of the case and set it down. It has a huge lip to protect the screen, which is both good and bad. The keyboard types very nice, but becomes unattached very easily. I loved the logitech create case. The slim combo doesn't even come close to being as nice of a case. There are starting to be other options out there that are much better. They may not use the smart connector, but they are far superior cases.

I like the fact that I don't need external batteries. But the connection between screen and keyboard is so weak that the product is nearly useless unless you can mount it on a flat surface in front of you (no taking notes from your lap, which is my main need). So while I bought it for the keyboard, I use it simply as an inert, and fairly heavy, case.

Positive: The keyboard works great and is laid out as expected. Negative: It falls apart. If I pick up the IPad, the keyboard falls off. It’s nearly impossible to walk around with it open because the bottom comes apart too easily from the IPad. I know what you’re thinking, “why do you need to walk around with it?” Well, if I’m using it for a FaceTime call and need to go look for something in another room, if I’m using it to take pictures or videos of a property, etc., the IPad is open but I might want to keep it attached to the keyboard for making notations. I would never buy this product again and am kind of irritated by what the darn thing cost. I am considering the Brydge but am also irritated by the cost. Once you buy them, its an act of Congress to return anything.

    Not great

I commend Logitech for being one of the few companies to support the smart connector standard from Apple. Being able to connect the keyboard directly to the ipad without charging and cable is exceptional. However, the rest of this case leaves a lot to be desired. Using "slim" is very misleading for this case. Although no heavy, it is very bulky and feels like cheap plastic. The kickstand, which was the standout feature for me on this case, feels cheap and fragile. The pencil loop, which awkwardly hangs out on the top, feels like a total afterthought. The keyboard portion connects easily enough but does not have enough strength to keep the keyboard connected. I would have much rather seen Logitech make a 10.5 inch compatible version of the create case that was made for the 9.7 inch/12.9 inch ipad pro models. This "slim" combo makes the sleek ipad pro bulky, utilitarian and cheap looking.

Love the function keys. But it is so bulky. And even worse heavy and hard to use. The first day I dropped iPad once and keyboard once because of weight and weak magnet. Returned!!

The slim combo would be fantastic if you could count on it every time you need it, however, this thing is about as reliable as a Yugo. If you plan of buying one of these you should plan on mastering the “Keyboard Flex” move to get all of the keys to work properly. The pros are this thing has a phenomenal battery life, great key size and feel. The cons are as state above, don’t be surprised when P, L, E, S, A, and Space Bar decide to check out until you flex the keyboard again.

Good Keyboard; Accident Waiting to Happen

Keyboard works great. No complaints. Very functional, 5-star. And great set-up if using on a flat surface 100% of the time. However, I’ve had the keyboard case for 24 hours and have dropped it at least five times. Very awkward setup if using in your lap and any other makeshift prop. Determined to make it stay up under on-the-go circumstances, I was sure there had to be a way. But 24 hours later, I’m still looking. Having to buy another product that’s not so unstable.

    Not good for the lap

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Since it uses a 4" wide stand to hold itself up, you can't use this on your lap - you have to use it on a table. Also, it's a little flimsy because it comes apart and it jiggles when you type. I'd not a big fan of this keyboard. However, if you understand it must be used on a table and can't rotate vertical, it might be good for you.

    Logitech Really Disappointed this time.

The case works. It provides protection, most the time, it gives you a (conveniently backlit, only real positive) keyboard that types fine. However, the case is *not* slim. The case is *not* light. it is bulky and heavy Makes my Lenovo T460s *lighter* than the iPad when it's in the case attached ot the keyboard. Besides the overly large case, which would be fine if that were the only negative in most cases, the iPad constantly falls out of the case. Repeatedly, I'll open the case/keyboard combo after pulling it out of my bag and the iPad stays resting against the keyboard. More than once, the case has come out of the bag leaving the iPad behind. Really poor design.
