Keyboard is made of plastic. Magnetic strip that attaches to the iPad is a large piece of plastic. The older version was much less bulkier and I wish I would have went that way with my purchase but I didn't realize it at the time.

I previously enjoyed the Logitech keyboard for my iPad 2. I loved how it snapped into place making it easily accessible. I purchased this in store, opened it and tried to use this on my iPad Air 2 and it didn't close easily and stay closed. I was so disappointed as I recommended Logitech for all my concierge clients. So sadly, I returned it and got a Zagg instead.

This is not a case. It in no way protects your iPad.

Great keyboard - feels like my MacBook Pro's

It's the perfect size, weight & color for the iPad Air. The keyboard has a wonderful feel & response and having it makes actually makes my iPad 10 times more useful, especially for longer e-mails and such. I also like the adjustable angle for the screen.
My only concern is that, unlike the my Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for my iPad 2, the magnetic locks for closing this new version aren't strong enough and I have found my iPad slightly open & warm from the screen being accidentally on while in my bag. To solve this, I'm going to need to find a thin sleeve which holds the iPad more closely to the keyboard while in my bag. That will give scratch protection as well.
But, over all this is a great keyboard cover.

easy to connect. I leave it "on" all the time but it must have a sleep mode to save battery. I like the tilt feature. It doesn't stay shut since there is no snap/lock feature but you have to give up something for the slim feature and I'm ok with it.

Good but - Stupid Design Choices

Ya know, if Logitech is going to go to the trouble of redesigning this product, why in the world do they have to be stupid about it. The hinge is huge and in the way when hold the iPad. WHY????
There is no auto power feature…again why not - makes sense.
Companies like Logitech continue to demonstrate they don't have a clue what customers really want. They just guess, and guess some more.
To be fair, this model is lighter (YEAH) and the ability to adjust angles is great. Both are features they should have offered YEARS ago!!!
I can't recommend but do suggest you not take my word for it and judge for yourself as there are few other keyboards as good.
Only 3 stars cause I want Logitech to take these comments seriously.

Extremely fun to use and very handy to have

I love this keyboard / case. It's fun to use and I look forward to "opening" it up every single time.
The case works with magnets that match up with the iPad. The two devices are very much two separate items at all times, but the magnets allow them to synch up and attach for the purpose you need. It's quick and easy to slide and prop your iPad in whatever way you need at the time. Previous iPads required you pull the devices apart with a little extra force, but this device separates the magnets with minimal force, leading to an extremely smooth experience.
The keyboard itself has some of the best feeling keys I've ever felt on a portable device - of this scale. It's a very responsive and replicated full-blown keyboard.
My only complain is that the stand wobble a little whenever I tap the iPad screen. Since the iPad is 100% touch related (no mouse), this means it wobbles frequently. It's nothing too bad, but it's noticeable. I'd prefer it to resist the pressure from my finger a bit more than it does.
The stand allows the iPad to be angled nicely, so you'll be likely to find a good spot no matter your layout.
I really didn't think I'd like it nearly as much as I do. The very act of "opening" and "closing" the two devices is always a blast - and it's one handy device to have around for various situations.

Weak Magnet

I needed a replacement for my current Logitech keyboard for my iPad air due to some keys not functional any longer. The magnet on the new Logitech case does not hold my iPad air. The iPad falls right off of it. Disappointed to have to return it.

Great thin keyboard

I really like this keyboard, keys provide enough feedback for a thin item like this and also the tilting feature is quite handy. my only thin is i do worry about it becoming separated when snapped together, i wish they had stuck with the connector they used on the old model as it gave a nice snap in to place.
