Good Budget Speakers for Non-Discerning Listeners

There are 3 things I like about this Speaker System (2 would not be enough and 4 would be too much) 1) Control Pod 2) Fills the room with better than expected bass sound. 3) Uses the PC earphone jack. The control pod has 3 functions for the speaker system. 1) Power on and off. If it is not turned on (with green light indicator), then there are no sound (easy). 2) Volume control. Very handy because I don't have to reach over and look for the volume control on a right speaker where they would normally be on a system that do not have a pod. 3) Headset connector. Another good feature because I do not have to plug my headset into my PC (which is already being used by this system). The pod's volume control can also adjust the volume of your headset if your headset does not have volume control; although went you try to adjust the volume of your headset by this method, the changes are very minimal. Adjusting it using with your PC's volume control gets greater results. The sound coming from the wooden subwoofer, and satellite speakers are powerful enough to fill my bedroom and through my closed door and through the floor to downstairs thanks to a 4-inch down-firing driver and a front bass extension-port (when cranked up you can feel it shooting pulsating air) When I cranked the volume up to maximum, I can detect a little distortion which sound a bit blurred and muffled. Unfortunately, there are no bass or treble controls which would help in reducing the muffled sound when you turn the volume up to watch a movie (the whispering are hard to hear and the shouting are hard to understand). Fortunately, I can plug my headset into the control pod and (surprise!) everything sounds clear as though I'm in a cinema. Music, especially instrumentals, with mid range being more prominent than the rest of the frequencies is where this system excels in. The bass will deliver a punch that you can feel which is more than I expected from a budget speaker system. The set-up is easy and there is nothing to download. 1) Connect the satellite speakers to the subwoofer. 2) Plug the power from the subwoofer to the surge protector. 3) Connect the control pod to the PC's earphone jack.

Great speaker set for a great price

This set was the perfect add on for my husband's new high-end gaming CPU and big 4K screen. It had a nice small footprint but big sound for the size and price. His office is only 11x11 feet so this amplified the sound without blasting the rest of us out of the house. LOL. And it's capable of much more volume with good sound integrity.

What a fantastic journey to finding the perfect audio! We're genuinely thrilled that your new Logitech Z313 speakers are delivering such a remarkable experience right from day one, especially after your previous Logitech sets. It's wonderful that the woofer's depth makes such a significant difference for you, and we're delighted you appreciate the updated design of the volume and power controls. Your enthusiastic recommendation, particularly considering the value, truly highlights what makes these speakers special! Logitech

I jUST took delivery of these speakers and hooked them up within 2 minutes. The sound is quite decent and they're attractive too. One thing I thought was odd, but turns out will be VERY convenient - with the speakers is a unit connected to them with a volume control, on/off switch and headphone jack. I've never seen that before on computer speakers and my raised eyebrow came down to join the other when I realized that I don't have to unplug the speakers to use headphones, plus I can turn the system off when it's not in use, thereby saving on electricity, and it's all within reach. Very handy. Headphone jack works just fine - note that the computer volume controls headphone volume, as these are not affected by the volume control on the little power/volume unit. The setup/troubleshooting sheet that comes with it points this out, so it's not a complete surprise. I think the sound is great, but then I don't have really high expectations for speakers at this price. It's light years better than what I was getting out of my laptop without speakers and that's all I needed.

I just bought these today and I was blown away by their performance. These are much better than any $80-100 speaker set you can buy nowadays. I'd say these are even better than the 5.1 surround system by Logitech, since most people tend to put the 2 rear/side speakers in front of them too. With proper settings they are on-part with the low-end Bose sets you can buy... To get perfect quality, set your equalizer to increase base SLIGHTLY and Treble all the way. You're going to love them. The only problem I have with these speakers is that the volume control is not physically on the speaker system... it's a "remote" coming out of the subwoofer. Useless wire if you ask me but tolerable since Windows 7 volume control is so easy and most keyboards have volume control too.

    Good Price for Sound

These speakers more than met my expectations. The sound far exceeds that of the factory speakers I previously used. One neat thing that I noticed is that if you position them on each side of your monitor or in my case monitors the sound comes from dead center. I'm astounded by this. My only gripe, and I use that term loosely, is that the speaker wiring is a bit of a mess. The wired remote is kind of a fail. They should have had a knob on one of the speakers. One more thing, the sub woofer packs a pretty good punch, but should have also come with a knob. BUT THIS IS TOTALLY WORTH THE BUY... for the money. I got them for 39.99. Caution: If you do in-store pick up WAIT for the confirmation email. I waited for more than the 45 minute wait time. I couldn't even get them from the shelves. I had to wait until the purchase was confirmed. Weird.

    Amazing Budget Speakers!

WOW! I'm amazed by these speakers. As a professional audio engineer, I can share with confidence in that these speakers produce clear and full sound. Yes, they don't blow the roof off of the place in terms of volume, but they sound great at modest volumes. I'm amazed at the frequency response in the 100-200 hz range. I have these hooked up to a mixer so I can run all of my components through them. My explosions on Call of Duty: Black Ops, really sound nice through the subwoofer. If you are using this system with iTunes, select the "Hip-Hop" Equalizer settings (under window) for best sounding music. For $35 they just can't be beat if you're in the market for budget speakers.

I have come to expect a good quality product from Logitech. These speakers are replacing a set of Logitech Soundman X2 that I have had for years. Other Logitech products I use include a Pure-Fi Anywhere iPod speaker dock, G15 gaming keyboard, G9x gaming mouse, and a Momo force-feedback steering wheel/pedal set. I'm really happy with the Z313. The satelite speakers don't take up much desk space, nor does the subwoofer, yet the sound belies the size -- very clear and powerful. Explosions in games produce a deep clear thump from the subwoofer -- no fuzzy or distorted sound at all. The corded remote/headphone jack is an added bonus. I put the remote on the LCD monitor base so it doesn't take any additional desk space, and it's perfect for controlling the volume, on-off switch, and using headphones. These speakers are definitely worth the price.

this is probably the fifth set of computer speakers ive gone through, bought some phillips before, they never seemed to last, the hookups are just bad, i saw these on-line, having dealt with logitech before I thought it would be worth checking out, so I get to the store and they had them hooked up so i could listen to them, man, I was impressed, really nice bass sound, the subwoofer is pre-set so you dont need to adjust it, speakers look nice as well, theyre warranty is for two years rather than the usual one, all in all, if your like me and you dont care to fork over $ 250.00 for a set of computer speakers than this set-up wil do just great.

I bought these speakers to replace an older different brand set that would really crank. With this subwoofer being smaller than my old one I wasn't sure what to expect but this one will put out some good bass sound. The satellites are very light but attractive. Very nice sound overall and I put them through the test of my music library ranging from metal to country. All types of music sounded great. The ONLY negative is that the whole idea of having the volume control in-line with the audio cord between the computer and the subwoofer is kind of lame. Plus that cord is hardwired into the sub - I don't like that. It would be nice to be able to disconnect the wires if I ever needed to. It was a little awkward finding a good place to run that cord so the volume control would be accessible without sticking out like a sore thumb. Other than that - great set of speakers! Great output which blows the cheaper ones away. Sound is comparable to the much more expensive speakers for a fraction of the cost. You can't go wrong with this set!

    Decent speakers for $34.99

I did a lot of research before buying these speakers because I wanted to replace some speakers that came with my desktop. They were good and produced sound clearly and loudly. However, the cable broke for one speaker so I could only hear from one. Also, I wanted to buy some speakers with bass. I originally wanted some for my LG LED, but they were too expensive. Computer speakers seemed like the alternative because I rarely watch any TV except only when I hook up my laptop to my TV to watch something. Logitech seemed to be a reputable company, so I decided to focus on this brand. Too many options were out of my price range. I had to look for something within the $50 range. This speaker system from what I had read from reviews was a good system to buy. Long story short, these speakers offer a decent amount of sound that is enough to fill a medium to small sized room. The sound becomes somewhat distorted when put to full volume. Also, the the bass becomes more boomy, drowning the sound out. Plus, from a distance the bass can be heard more than the sound from voices. Don't get me wrong these are some good speakers for the price. Don't expect to get the world out these. They are best at half the volume. Somewhere in the middle because it strikes a balance that makes sound clear. All in all, if you want to upgrade from a two-speaker to a 2.1, you can't go wrong with these speakers.
