I was moved to tears three separate times while watching this movie. The action is real and hits you in the gut...which probably still does not depict what really happened. I could not be more proud of the sacrifice our men and women have given for our freedom after watching this. I must see is the real footage and interviews in the extras of the families of these 4 heroes!

This movie was the best movie I have seen in a very long time. The acting was outstanding, the story was heart wrenching. I am glad to see a movie that honors our fallen soldiers and our country, while still giving credit to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan who have helped us over the years.

The film is based on the Marcus Luttrell book by the same name. The story documents the actions taken by four Navy SEALs during Operation Red Wings. The majority of the story follows the SEALs and their fight to survive their battle with the Taliban. An interesting element of the story is how Luttrell was aided in his fight by local Afghani villagers who protected him from the Taliban. The acting was solid and the story is compelling. If you like military action films (Black Hawk Down), then you'll enjoy this one. An important fact to note, Lt. Murphy, the leader of the mission, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions that day.

If you have the 1080 transfer I might out this off but not long. Buy some 4Ks you don't own the film of at all but definitely do pick this up. The 1080 transfer is truly reference. Which is saying a lot with hiw many 1080 discs there are compared to 4K. A very nice transfer and improvement over the 1080 on PA and AQ, to be sure. Film's great, true American heroes all, and an inspiring story of survival. If you're a fan of this movie buy it straight away even if you have the 1080. If you're on the fence buy a few others or a dozen other 4Ks first but definitely do pick this up.

Be sure to check out the special features on the disc. Explosions in the Sky did an outstanding job with Steve Jablonsky on the score version as well. I appreciate that they worked with Marcus directly as a consultant to make sure that the movie was made as close to the actual events as possible. It's a great movie you can watch over and over and it never gets old!

I felt this movie was very well done. Great action and from what I understand, it followed the actual events in a fairly accurate, albeit condensed, fashion. Having never served in the military, I'm told that the portrayal of the action was well done. Great job of acting. I saw this in a packed theater and at the end of the movie you could have heard a pin drop.

Love this movie, tragic loss amazing story based on true events. Thank you to all military for their sacrifice.

A great combat movie, that conveys the courage, brotherly love and intensity of men in combat. The scenes of trying to escape and regroup under fire, many times while wounded, cause you to grimace and grunt as if you were the affected soldier. The raw humanity of the tribesmen that take him in and protect him reaffirm your faith in regular people under extreme duress.

I saw this movie the day it came out in theaters, it was an amazing movie! I'm glad that it stayed fairly close to the book and really paid respect to the men that made the ultimate sacrifice during operation redwing. I also highly recommend reading both books by Marcus Luttrell. I got to meet him, he is a good man and both of my copies of his books are signed by him.

Great movie, it reflects what service men and women go thru in the battle field, I personally have a brother who is actually in Afghanistan, he has seen this movie himself and he suggested that it is exactly what happens over there and the only difference is that we have the luxury of not knowing that it happens.I would recommend it to anyone who is in to war movies.

Mark Wahlberg becomes Marcus Luttrell in this movie adaptation of the book by Nay SEAL Luttrell. This movie has action of course but remembering that this is a work of non-fiction and contains details from the "Lone Survivor" makes it all the more visceral. Highly recommended!

This was a great movie...very intense, well acted. While we enjoyed the movie and the view into the situation, it was not a feel good movie at all. It was incredible to see what so many of our young military members are willing to go through and sacrifice for our country. Before you watch this, take the title into account and prepare yourself for a wild ride.

I had seen this movie prior to it coming out on DVD/Blu-ray. However, before watching it a second time I watched all the Extras which I thought were AMAZING!!! There was a lot of details and input into making sure the movie was done right. There are even a few scenes of Marcus Luttrell in the movie. Would highly recommend watching this movie if you like action.

We pre-ordered this and it ended up being more expensive and coming later then if we had just gone to BB to pick it up. Won't do that again. The movie is really good, though. It's a hard movie to watch because it is about war, but it is also about friends and trust. Everyone should watch it to see what loyalty and brotherhood about and how the military works.

This movie is a must see. A lot of adult language in the beginning and through out. But it's a movie that as your kiddos get older is important for them to see. Whether you agree or don't agree with war it's about those that chose to sacrifice their life for country and what they believed in. Its touching, it's sad, its action packed. This move has it all.

If you're reading this review, you probably already know who Marcus Luttrell is....check this movie out right away! I won't bore you with a synopsis, which you can read elsewhere. This BluRay is great, and I love that it includes the DVD also, I was able to lend it to my folks for them to watch since their TV isn't as new as mine.

Tony the Tiger style - it's grrrrrreat!!! Now that I got that out of the way I can really begin. Any war type of film when done right inspires men of all ages to go out to do something bold and positive. I feel that same way when I watch Lone Survivor. The fact that it looks amazing in 4K makes the journey even more worth it.

This 4K UHD was not a great jump in quality over the previously excellent Blu-ray. Main selling point for me for this upgrade was the to hear the DTS:X soundtrack which is a terrific DTS:X presentation. Lone Survivor is an exceptional, and for me an emotional, war film.

After watching this film and the accompanying bonus features, I came to develop a deeper appreciation of how Navy SEALS are trained and are fully prepared to defend America's interests overseas. The portrayal of the four SEALS, three of whom perished in a heroic showdown with Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, was realistic and touching. This film is a must-see.

This story on Navy Seals was excellent. The back and forth between the actors was spot on, almost as it really is with soldiers. It is a true story, and thus sometimes the truth is hard to tell. As far as I can tell, it was accurate, but lives were lost on that mountain, and we need to remember the guys that didn't come back. Overall a very good movie.
