The book was way better than the movie. At leat half the book was dedicated to SEAL training, but the only SEAL training shown in the movie was in the beginning credits.

Sorry, can't drum up the least tidbit of enthusiasm for this one. Maybe you can. Slow paced story, wooden acting. Nuff said.

I thought this movie was alright. I usually like Marky Mark movies better.

We loved the movie that's I decided to get dvd copy for husband on Father's Day. My MacBook player can't read the DVD. I tried using a different player but gave me the same error.

He directly influenced the decision of the team leader and is responsible for the deaths of his teammates. He is no hero and should be ashamed.

There was a nik or something on the DVD. The movie would not play.

Was expecting a good war/political thriller but got nothing in return.

I read the book in 2008 right after I met Marcus Luttrell. I had the privilege of meeting him again in the summer of 2013 right before this movie was released. It does not matter if you agree with the politics of what the military does, it only matters that we support them while they are gone and when they come home. I forgot I was watching Mark Wahlberg playing the role of Marcus Luttrell which is the greatest compliment I have for Mr. Wahlberg.

I loved this movie in theaters and I can't wait to get it on Blu-ray. The acting was great, Marcus Luttrell even had a minor part in the movie, and it was very accurate, up until the last third of the movie. The last third was not exactly portrayed as it was in the book, but otherwise, it was very detailed. Great movie to show the brave men who died in Operation Red Wing. The movie was also shot very well and the action was incredibly intense. Sound design was amazing, and I highly recommend it on Blu-ray for anyone who has a nice home theater.

I saw Lone Survivor in the theater twice. It is impossible to take it all in with one viewing. I knew I wanted to own the movie when it came out. I pre-ordered and it was delivered to my house on the day of its release in stores. I can't say enough good things about this film. Even more so I can't find the words for the real men whose story is depicted. The extras are great. The overwhelming sense of respect and honor the cast and crew had for the Marcus and his teammates was inspiring.

This movie is easily one of the best book-to-movies ever created. Peter Berg did deviate from Marcus Luttrell's book some, but not much. Berg and the entire cast did a phenomenal job of bringing these true life heroes to the big screen and honored their service and lives with their performances. Absolutely one of the greatest war movies of all time. Hard not to be emotional during it. Thank you to the soldiers portrayed and all current and former soldiers for their dedicated service!

Only a few movies are released these days which are worthwhile watching. This one is in- your-face intense. Excellent HD Cinematography. The HD surround is cinema quality with my system. Mr. Wahlberg is a fine, serious actor-I have several of his movies. The entire cast did a remarkable job: I say this as a neophyte movie critic-I'm looking at movies for quality, sound and acting. Only a few movies out of many I will give 5 stars.

I initially went into the movie with not high expectations, only bought it due to Mark Wahlberg being in it and being a war movie junkie. Boy was wrong. The movie hits you in every emotional way from the acting, storytelling, music, scenery, and gun battles. What I love about Lone Survivor is that it doesn't sugar coat anything, the movie feels raw and real. After you sit thru it, it will stay with you, which means the movie succeeds. Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster of realism. I just would like to thank everybody that has served and sacrificed their lives for our country. This movie does this 4 man navy seal team justice, and then some. Almost nearly on the same level as Saving Private Ryan. Highly Recommended!

I actually got to see and hear Marcus talk at an event in downtown Dallas and was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The movie was remarkably accurate in comparison to the movie except he was paralyzed in real life and had to crawl to water while drawing a line to cross every 5-6 feet and dragging himself across it to do it again and again for many miles. The sound on my home theater is some of the best and I use this movie to gauge the quality and reference point. A must have movie for any military fan or supporter.

This movie was a brutally beautiful tribute to the men killed during Operation Red Wing. Having read the book multiple times I knew I wasn't going to be surprised by anything in the movie but I was still moved by actually seeing what these men endured. Peter Berg did a great job telling this story. Marcus Luttrell did an awesome job keeping it honest. Thank God for our military and their willingness to serve selflessly.

This is a great war movie, period! The battle scenes are tense, harrowing and claustrophobic as a SEAL team is surrounded and in a very difficult situation keeping you on the edge of your seat. The movie portrays our troops as respectfully and as honestly as they can...a tribute to our special forces, who usually operate behind the scenes and aren't always in the limelight.

This movie arrived in less than a week and i live on the other side of the countries from where it was shipped from. This is a great movie, realistic, entertaining, good action, good emotional scenes. Mark W. is one of my favorite actors and he was fantastic in this movie, he did a great job.

When I first saw this movie I was shocked. I left the theater just saddened by the sacrifice our U.S soldiers make every day and how fast things happen. Being based on a true story just made it hit home for me even more. This movie was a fantastic representation of the every day struggle for Veterans and the families of the ones lost.

Great true story that must be seen. A ton of action. Excellent PQ and Audio on the Blu Ray paired with a good home theater will make you feel like you are there. Pretty violent so definitely not a movie for small children or adults that are offended by violence.
