Despite being advertised with a digital copy the UV copy code is expired and will not work. I will think twice about ordering movies for a UV/Digital code from Best Buy again.

"What is the perfect crime? I don’t know if killing men sent from the future, and therefore unidentifiable, qualifies, but it’s certainly close. Of course, if you should screw up somehow, those same people would know immediately. What then? It’s 2044, and while time travel has yet to be invented, those in the future use it to their advantage by sending individuals who threaten their business interests back to that time where they can be eliminated by men awaiting their arrival. The men who execute these unfortunate individuals are known as Loopers. Joe Simmons (played by Joseph Gordon-Leavitt) is one such man. Simmons (Gordon-Leavitt) is in the employ of a mafia boss in Kansas City who he calls Abe (played by Jeff Daniels). Abe (Daniels) was sent back in time to manage the organization’s hired guns as well as their other illicit operations as only someone from the future is uniquely equipped to do. When Loopers have outlived their usefulness, they are sent back to be executed their younger self who receive payment in the form of gold rather than the customary silver. This is referred to as “closing your loop”. In his spare time, Joe abuses drugs, maintains an intimate relationship with a showgirl named Suzie (played by Piper Perabo), frequents a club owned by his employer and is studying French to prepare for his eventual retirement in France. Things start going awry when Seth (Joe’s friend and a fellow Looper played by Paul Dano) is confronted with the task of closing his loop and fails. His superiors are more than a little displeased by this and so Seth goes to Joe, hoping his friend will hide him. Eventually, Seth is found, maimed, and his now disfigured older self is executed. This is after Seth and Joe both learn that a crime boss known only as The Rainmaker is behind the recent rash of closing loops. As Joe resumes his usual routine, he too is given the task of closing his loop when his older self (portrayed by Bruce Willis) appears before him. Joe’s younger self cuts a message into his arm so that he can discuss the situation with his older self. Old Joe (Willis) confirms that The Rainmaker exists and is closing loops, in addition to killing the woman Joe would eventually marry. Both Joes are attacked by men working for their employer and flee, neither intending to do anything other than the task they set out to. Old Joe’s being to kill The Rainmaker’s younger self, young Joe’s being to close his loop.
(THIS BLANK SPACE WAS PUT HERE FOR A REASON. DON'T ASK!)
Obviously, this is a very complicated story. It’s made even more so by characters I haven’t mentioned yet. One of them played by the always talented Emily Blunt, the other by child actor and relative newcomer Pierce Gagnon. That said, I found it surprisingly good and highly entertaining. The complicated and paradoxical nature of sending someone back in time to be executed by their younger self as well as other questions about time travel are complicated and that is dealt with by a rather humorous line and then never brought up again. Thankfully. The story is gripping, the performances top-notch, and the conclusion leaves the audience wanting more and wondering what’s next. This is a great film." Interesting Plot But With Some Holes

Generally I liked it. Early on there seemed to be a lot of action. Somewhere in the middle it really slowed down and went from an action thriller to a very complicated plot that required focus to stay tuned in (think Inception). I don't mind that but usually when I pick an action movie its because I'm not in the mood for deep thought. Still, not a bad movie. The violence that was disturbing wasn't the fighting. It was the repeated scenes of brutal murder of helpless people who were bound and blind folded. I'm not generally squeamish but it bothered me.
SPOILER ALERT!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER . . .
The plot hole that disappointed was that if a guy kills himself in the past, then how would he be able to go into the future and wreak havoc, even if in the future, he went back in the past to do it? So, based on the ending of the movie, the girl and the kid should never have met him, much less remembered what just happened and the entire movie should not have taken place since he died before he was killed and long before he met his wife! Ouch! My brain hurts!
Still an interesting movie but not "great." Not even Willis' best effort I'd say.

A sci-fi film destined to become a classic in time

Looper was one of the best movies of 2012. I know there are some complainers out there with some of the huge plot holes and time travel consistencies, but when has time travel ever been logical? This movie's concept is just brilliant, making time travel illegal and the only ones who use it are criminal organizations sending someone back in the past to get assassinated and there being no trace of the body for them to get convicted. But what if you are the assassin and the person that gets sent back is and older version of you? An original idea where originality is thrown out the window nowadays, that alone is worth giving this movie a look.
You get mostly everything with the Blu Ray extras, but would've liked a commentary with Bruce Willis included, and you get a whole thing of deleted scenes and a time travel science featurette which was pretty cool. Great picture and sound, a must own for movie enthusiasts.
Combine it with great acting from Willis and Gordon-Levitt, a killer score, great special effects, and a emotional climax, this movie is going to be looked at as a classic in later years, maybe even compared to Back To the Future one day (well, maybe not that close, but close)

i love time travel. i love mysteries. i love JGL and Bruce Willis.
This was really a no brainer for me. The movie was not only amazing, but it was completely original, which is very rare in this age. aside from the story itself, the make up and special effects to make levitt look more like willis is mind blowing.
and if you havent seen it, check out Brick, from the same director, also starring JGL. another brilliant movie.

This is a good movie, I loved the different approach to the plot, but just like any time traveling movie, if you start looking for holes you will find them. Acting is great, Bruce Willis is solid as always. Liked that it came with an UV digital copy, I never used this before, but recently tried it, so nice to stream your movie collection on any smart device without looking for the hard copy.

Great Sci-fi drama with a fantastic plot that you don't see too often in mainstream movies these days. Doesn't depend on explosions and high budget special affects to deliver an entertaining movie experience.

Refreshing Take On Time Travel Actioner

With so many time travel movies, is it possible to come up with a new twist? I guess so, as this is one. There's a scene near the beginning that depicts the passage of time that stunned me when I first saw it. Well acted and a fitting ending makes it a strong recommendation.

Joseph Levitt-Gordon is really coming of age in acting, producing, and directing. Hard to remember he was doing sitcom in his youth. Just when you think the plot is about to be predictable, he throws a nice twist. You have to watch engagingly to find the answers.

When I first saw trailers for Looper I wasn't interested in it at all. Once it hit theaters word of mouth was strong so I decided to check it out and I was astounding. The film was mind bending and extremely interesting. A very great Sci-Fi film.

Awesome flick! JGL is top top notch, and Bruce Willis shows multiple sides of his character acting. With an ending that will inspire discussion about the nature of fate, you can't go wrong with this cerebral thriller.
