The velcro panels are 100% removable, but don't work tremendously well at creating walls for other parts, such as additional lenses. If you have a larger lens, you can probably store the camera with the lens attached, but are likely unable to store anything else inside. There is a zipper pouch on one exterior side that creates a bulky interior if anything larger than a few papers are put inside it. Even the manual is to big. The outer side and rear pockets do not close in any way whatsoever. I do like the interior zipper pouch on the opening flap, though. If you can get it for free, get it. If not, look for something else.
