I am glad that the fridge has a water filter, but IT'S TOO HARD TO INSTALL!!!! I wrenched my forearm trying to get the old one out. I replaced the filter weeks ago and I STILL can't hardly lift anything with my right arm. :-(

Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG Water Filter (LT1000PC) model. We understand how important it is for your filter to deliver clean, fresh-tasting water, especially given the investment.

For this model, one helpful step is to ensure the filter is installed correctly and fully seated in the housing. If it’s not locked in place, water may bypass the filter and reduce effectiveness. Also, replacing the filter every 6 months (or sooner if water quality is poor) helps maintain performance. Running 2–3 gallons of water through the dispenser after installation can flush out carbon particles and improve taste. For more information, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-refrigerator-water-filter-troubleshooting-CT10000021-20154713344860. If the water still doesn’t meet expectations, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com with your product details so we can assist further. We're here to help. ^Juvy LG

    Tons of floaties!

There is no other option that I can find for this LG fridge than their LG water filter. We do not like how the water comes out with a lot of haziness in it. When you look closely you see tons of whitish floaties in it. Most of the floaties will disappear after much time. My previous brand didn't do this. Wish I hadn't bought LG.

Hi, Deborah. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the haziness and floaties in the water dispensed by your LG Water Filter (LT1000PC) model. We understand your disappointment, especially compared to your previous brand.

To address this issue, we recommend checking if the water filter is installed correctly. Sometimes, improper installation can lead to water quality problems. Additionally, we suggest flushing the system by dispensing a few gallons of water to remove any air bubbles or residue that could be causing the haziness and floaties. For additional troubleshooting, you may visit this link: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-refrigerator-white-substances-buildup-on-fridge-dispenser-CT10000021-20153121237804. If you find that the issue persists, please send us a private message on Facebook or X (Twitter) using @LGUSSupport. Hi, Raul. Thanks for reaching out about your LG Water Filter (LT1000PC) model. We understand how important it is for your filtered water to taste clean and fresh.

If you're noticing an unpleasant taste, we recommend flushing the filter by dispensing at least 2.5 gallons of water (about 5 minutes of continuous flow) after installation. This helps remove any trapped air or loose carbon particles that can affect taste. Also, make sure the filter is properly seated in the compartment to ensure full flow-through.

We have LG model LFXS26973D and this was the filter that is supposed to work with our fridge. Filter clicked in and turned clockwise amd flushed at least 10 gallons. Water coming out of fridge still had a chemical smell and tastes awful. TDS test shows same measurement as the tap water as if the LG water filter is not filtering any of the sediment. I am going to buy an inline water filter and hopefully that works better. I simply wasted $60 on a product that does not do what it says it should do. This is the last time im buying an LG filter and probably will not buy LG products in my next home.
