It takes a while to filter out the dirty water that’s backed up in the pipes (more than what was specified for the initial filter).

I'm typically a "brand name" kind of purchaser, but after replacing this $60 water filter twice a year, I looked at third party alternatives. You can purchase a three-pack WITH three air filters of a generic brand for $27. I will NEVER purchase another LG filter again. Absolutely atrocious pricing for a basic carbon filter.

The filter or water line

We discarded more of the water and it appeared to be ok.
