For this model, one helpful step is to ensure the filter is installed correctly and fully seated in the housing. If it’s not locked in place, water may bypass the filter and reduce effectiveness. Also, replacing the filter every 6 months (or sooner if water quality is poor) helps maintain performance. Running 2–3 gallons of water through the dispenser after installation can flush out carbon particles and improve taste. I don’t like the taste of the water that comes from the refrigerator for drinking but it’s ok for cooking.
