    For the price of this item, i feel it should last longer, especially, after we have to dump so much of the water we first get out of the new filter!

We understand that the LT1000P/LT1000PC Water Filter didn't meet your expectations regarding its lifespan and the initial flushing process. Your feedback is important, and we understand your inquiry. To ensure the best performance, please remember that the filter is designed to be replaced every 6 months or 200 gallons, and flushing the first 2.5 gallons is necessary to remove trapped air and carbon fines from the new filter.
