It comes across older than 1985

Some sci fi/fantasy movies are ahead of their time. Blade Runner, Fifth Element, never seem to get old. Unfortunately, Thunderdome is not one of them. From beginning to end it's all been done before, nothing new to pique your interest.

Bad screenplay, Tina Turner -excellent singer- more interested in showing legs than acting. Less believable than the first two. Good use of special effects for the time.

Definitely the worst in the Mad Max series but I needed to complete my set.

Never saw the first movies, so was difficult to know who was who in the film. Enjoyable action flick.

It's good up to the point of mad max being expelled from the dome then it reminds me of Peter Pan

I wanted a non blue ray!! wasn't available. my blue ray player is older would not play this movie!! my understanding is you constantly need to update your blue ray player to keep it working with newer disks. older disks work fine newer ones do not.

This is great action movie to watch, especially if you loved Mad Max. Ms. Anna May AKA Tina Turner was actually great as the Queen of the Thunderdome, which was a big stretch since she had just left Ike Turner

    Good DVD for $10.99

When the movie was about to be released in 1985, I recall a televised "making of" featurette, which included on site interviews with Tina Turner, Mel Gibson, Kennedy Miller, etc. If that feature had been on the DVD I'd have rated it 5 stars. The film used to make the DVD seemed worn with spots and scratches. Guess I may have become spoiled with today's use of ultra realistic looking CGI post apocalyptic city scenes, because the ruins of Sydney really looked like an elementary school student's model project. However, for $10.99 it was a good buy.

    Best Film of the Series

This final film of the famed 'Mad Max' trilogy, while not quite as heavy on the stuntwork and action as its predecessors, easily bests both previous movies in terms of visual display, character development, story depth and richness.

I grew up on the Mad Max movies, my mom took us to the drive in when the first one came out. My brother and I were supposed to be lying down in the back of the van but my we managed to sneak-watch the movie! By the time Thunderdome came out I could go by myself to see it, but I remember thinking it wasn't that good. Now that I am older I appreciate this film a bit more. It seems like the director realized that the first Mad Max film set a fast pace, this was bumped up with The Road Warrior, so rather than going crazy fast with even more crashes he slowed this one down. It isn't a great movie but I do think it is an essential part of Max's story.

It was 7.99 when I bought it on Blu Ray, fora movie I remember as a child, and still holds up! Looks great on Blu Ray. Mel Gibson, Post apocalyptic setting, and at the time a fairly fresh story. Not much else to say. Have a good one & thanks for reading.

It's hard not to want this movie to be great after the initial 45 minutes it wears pretty thin. Tina Turner fails to convince as a villain.
