Slightly deceiving title
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this was going to be an introspective movie about an angry man named Max. Instead it was a post apocalyptic adrenaline fueled Australian nightmare. ****SPOILERS FOLLOW**** Max is not mad at all at first and sure he gets angry after his wife and child are run down by crazy gang members, but the real twist is that he goes crazy because of that. He goes mad. What the heck was Max doing taking a vacation in a post apocalyptic Australia, anyway? I mean non-post apocalyptic Australia is dangerous enough, with saltwater crocodiles and poisonous spiders and poisonous snakes and poisonous saltwater snails and poisonous jellyfish but throw in post apocalyptic gang members and maybe you should just have taken a staycation, eh Max?

No plot what so ever.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The last time I saw this movie was maybe 15 years ago. I remembered only bits & pieces. I purchased this to get me ready for the new Mad Max out now. The movie looked & sounded great, but there simply wasn't any story to be told. I understand when it was released & the budget it had & all, but a good plot point doesn't require either. I would say it is worth it to ready the trivia on IMDB about this movie before hand, it makes it a little more bareable.

4K??
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was disappointed with this "4K" disc.I understand this is an older movie, but the 4K version is not very good. The audio is not what I expected from a 4K disc. The original Mad Max was a budget produced movie when made so the audio could have been better.I should have waited for the price to drop before purchasing.

Mad Max fans rejoice!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie that launched Mel Gibson's career and one of the best loved action franchises is now on blu ray! Now there are now several versions of this film on blu ray I choose this version to add to my collection and couldn't be more pleased. Great packaging and cover art and a decent price go out and grab a copy

old school classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wasn't sure if I saw this back in the days of VHS. Fury Road piqued my interest so I picked this up for $5.99. Somewhat raw film but entertaining also. Good to see Mel in his early days. Not a bad storyline which started a far-out, apocalyptic franchise.

nice time to re-visit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't seen this movie in over twenty five years, but still enjoyed it. The movie is extremely dated. Nevertheless, it's worth owning for the collector's case housing and for one of Mel Gibson's first few films.

How mad is Max?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this is what all the hubbub is about? Still unsure about this one. But Shout Factory makes great bluray/dvd cover art and as a bonus you can flip it around and get the original poster art as well.

What can I say?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to see the original "Mad Max" so I bought this... it is a good watch if you want to see the beginning, but don't expect anything like "Fury Road"

old school car mayhem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You don't need this on Blu-ray. DVD would be just fine. Great classic movie about revenge, just let a little to be desired as far a story goes.

Started the franchise and made Mel's career
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun movie that kick started Mel's acting in the US. Not the best in the series but if you want to start at the beginning its the first one.

It was okay.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this movie because I enjoyed the sequel that came out recently. It doesn't seem to have aged well and I didn't really enjoy it much.

worth seeing at least once
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's goofy at points... really goofy. But, that kind if serves it well, at least as far as setting it apart from the crowd goes.

Not as good as Road Warrior or Thunderdome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was good, but the 1st half of it was kinda slow. However, it should be watched before seeing the next 2 after it.
