My name is Max. My world is fire. And blood. Once, I was a cop; a road warrior searching for a righteous cause. As the world fell, each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy. Me... or everyone else. Here they come again. Worming their way into the black matter of my brain. I told myself... they cannot touch me. They are all dead. I am the one who runs from both the living and the dead. Hunted by scavengers. Haunted by those I could not protect. So I exist in this Wasteland. A man reduced to a single instinct: survive.

I got the 2015 blu-ray. The description does not say that it includes a DVD and digital copy, so I was quite happy that it did. Further, I redeemed the digital copy at Movies Anywhere and was surprised and again happy that it redeemed in 4k. Expectations exceeded. Of course your mileage may vary. Only disappointment was a big UPC sticker covering the old sticker, though it is on the plastic case and not the artwork. Soundtrack is Dolby Atmos, another plus, and the disc includes some good extras about making the movie.

Synopsis: Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron star in this fourth installment of the post-apocalyptic action series from film-maker George Miller. Set in a desolate desert wasteland, the story follows Max (Hardy), who, following the murder of his wife and child, has been captured by a gang, led by the tyrannical Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne). In order to escape Max teams up with Imperator Furiosa (Theron), a woman who wants to travel across the desert and find her way back home. But, after liberating five female captives from Joe's clutches, she too must escape from the crazy gang leader and his henchmen. Can they make it across the desert in one piece?

If you have a 4k TV with HDR, and a halfway decent sound system you NEED to buy the 4k version of this disc. I was apprehensive as I already owned this version for multiple years. But the difference in resolution, color, Atmos soundtrack, and dynamic range are simply breathtaking. BUY THE 4k VERSION.

Should Be Called "Furiosa feat. Mad Max"

I had such a fun time watching this movie. My wife and daughter loved it too. It's everything you would want from a Mad Max film. Except, Max. Seriously, he had hardly any lines, the story line had really very little to do with him. Heck, even on the cover Furiosa is front and center. That being said, it's still an awesome movie. The tone was prefect. It was almost non-stop action. And when people die you feel moved. As for this presentation. I love getting Combo-Packs for under $15. Although the box doesn't say it there is a good amount of bonus content. 6 good length behind the scenes bits and 3 deleted scenes. I would have liked to hear some commentary. But it is what it is. If for some reason you've not seen this movie and aren't sure about purchasing it and are hoping my review will sway you, let me say this. If you like action, apocalyptic adventure, car chases, explosions, strong women, or engaging stories...just buy this already. If you don't like it, I'm sure you know someone that would.

Amazing movie and even more amazing sound. This movie looks great, awesome use of hdr and specular highlights. If you have a dolby atmos capable surround sound system, this is the movie to test your subwoofer. The bass in this movie is insane, when the car engines rev up it will shake your room. This movie is the perfect advert for how sound should be mastered in a movie. Do yourself a favour and get this movie it does everything right great visuals, killer sound , story and action is top notch by a master director.

Saw this movie in the theater and really enjoyed it. The story is quick and easy to dive into with virtually non-stop action. Camera angels were amazing and the resolution was crisp, detailed, and exacting. The only issue when seeing it in the theater was the "hot" recorded soundtrack that on occasion was overbearing and washed out the dialogue. The video has been nicely transferred and will pop on a quality HDTV. Thankfully the audio has been adjusted nicely without sacrificing the director's intent to bring across the "raw horsepower" of the vehicles or the impacts of gunfire and crashes. This movie will be a wonderful addition to any film collection, bringing out the best in audio and video of your HT system.

At first, I was skeptical I would enjoy this, even after the first 5-10 minutes rolled by, but then the detour began and the music...wow, the music! There is a plot, despite it's seeming simplicity these actors really pull it off! A few major things this movie won me over with was stunt work, cinematography, and outrageous custom-built cars. The stunts are so well choreographed and the camera work really kept me drawn in. The special features, where they discussed the cars, almost felt as long as the movie itself, but it was definitely worth the time. Honestly, I really hope they're destined for some kind of Oscar. They really killed it with all things shiny and chrome! Witness!

Going into Mad Max Fury Road, I had very few expectations. I mean, could you imagine a Mad Max sequel thirty years after the last movie without Mel Gibson as the titular character? I left the theater absolutely blown away by how great this movie was and knew I was going to have to buy it when it was available on BD. Anyway, this BD is pretty solid. It has 6 different featurettes, with interviews and behind the scenes footage about the filming, the art direction, the actors, the vehicles(!), and even a feature that compares the shot footage with CGI to the finished versions. It also has three deleted scenes. So a fairly standard release. I only wish there was a commentary track.

I'm a Mad Max fan from the 80's. Admittedly, only the Road Warrior. Nearly 30 years later, George Miller tops his own masterpiece. Who would have thought? The trailer alone was worth the price of admission, with the promise that this movie was going to be an insane, wild, crazy, suicidal and ... totally MAD world! And it is. Every frame of it is beautiful. A vast landscape of incredible images captured in perfect momentum. A super-charged mania of thrills and action... and very little dialogue. It's cruel, it's brutal, it's dirty, it's lightening-fast and pedal-to-the-metal. It's the BEST Mad Max movie since Road Warrior... and that's about as good as you can get.

I felt mixed on this at the credits. In some ways I was expecting more. As far as the action ....it had all the action in the world one could really ask for in this style of film. Its not about guns and ammo, its about vehicles and crazy vehicles doing crazy things. You can tell where they really added some coloring (especially the 'red') to the explosions. I loved to the highest degree seeing the creativity they put into making such wild vehicles. Some on monster truck tires, cars stacked upon each other, cars with 2 engines......insane. The storyline..........seemed quite simple and the dialog didn't really impress. me. I wasn't a big fan of Thunderdome but I'd say the storyline and dialog was better written and maybe more interesting than this one. But the action in Fury Road was supreme and they knew it going into it and focused on that element. I'll watch it more and let it sink in and manifest but so far I'd say its definately worth a view.

I was never a huge fans of the Max Max/Road Warrior films, but I really enjoyed this one. I didn't expect much of it when it was being marketed, but it blew away my expectations and a lot of critics' ones, too. The packaging isn't anything to rave about and no digital download? That was a deal breaker from the time this blu-ray was released, but then it went on sale and I couldn't be too picky. Apparently, the 4K version is the only one that has one - annoying if you don't have a 4K TV or player. I don't even think the 2-film Black & Chrome edition has it. Special features are decent, but there are not a lot.
