Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the MBP6700P 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player's exceptional picture quality and 4K performance. Many appreciate its ease of use, compact size, and affordable price. While some wish for Wi-Fi and streaming capabilities, the player's strong performance in playing DVDs and Blu-rays, along with its upscaling features, outweighs these shortcomings for most users.

What good is 4K without good sound?

I made the mistake of buying this off the ‘net without researching it adequately. It has no output other than the HDMI port, so it won’t talk to my sound bar system! Why have a UD4K video with only the crappy speakers in the TV? I took it back and exchanged it for an LG unit with the optical audio output port.

No audio out options other than the hdmi cable. We have a seperate surround sound system from Onkyo and it doesn't take its sound from the hdmi it only lets video pass through. So i ended up spending more on a better 4k player so i didn't have to replace the surround sound.

I bought this player for the stated specifications, but it didn't perform as expected, even for the 2 hours before it completely stopped working. Wait for a sale on a more reputable brand instead.

excelent up scale DVD, BlueRay, 4K player

Player has been an excellent player, has up scaled all standard DVD's to 1080p and one DVD that had issues playing in another player. Blue Rays have played perfect as expected - I do not have 4K TV yet but will probably get one in future. From other reviews Blue Ray DVD up scale and 4K DVDs play with great or expected results.. Player does not have apps but I have Fire stick $24 annual sales that handle internet apps. Player will resume at place you let off or you can start at beginning. Unit will power off if left on idle after a while. This is great 4K player compared to other expensive players with apps - if you have new TV with apps or a Fire Stick type device this is a great player on sale regular price puts it in range of blue ray players with apps still much lower than most 4K. Read reviews about remote - I like the remote works great back lite would be nice but good remote with out back lite. I have played about 20 DVD mix of standard all ages DVD - all up scaled to 1080p and Blue Ray DVD's with expected 1080p on 1080p television 2009 Samsung. No issues play back perfect. recommended buy on sale would also buy normal price.

    Good player

I started off purchasing a Sony player, but returned it due to intermittent audio sync problems with my LG tv no matter what I tried with different configurations and hardware. This Magnavox player was on sale when I brought back the Sony, so I decided to give it a try and save some cash. You need to supply your own HDMI cable and also a couple of batteries for the remote (can't recall the last time I bought a player that didn't include the batteries). I've been using this for 2 weeks and it's working just fine so far. It was simple to get up and running and the user interface is pretty straight forward. When the player is powered up, a very soft whirring sound comes from its cooling fan, but this cannot be heard during audio playback. The remote is small: only 4 inches long and 1-5/8 inches wide. No problem pressing the buttons, but sometimes difficult to read the labelling until you've memorized the function for each one. I'm quite satisfied with the picture quality. Overall, this player does everything I need it to do and was a good deal, too.

    Great 4k Player, And Upscaler

I have three Amazon Fire TVs, 2nd Generation with 4k hardware, HDMI 2.0 cables, my M65" Vizio MTV is HDCP2.2 compliant, and I have a lot of Blu-Ray disks and DVDs. The picture is amazing. my old LG Blu-Ray player is going to the guest bedroom. I bought this because I like my streams through the FireTVs. The Blu-Ray players and TV smart Apps are all much slower than my Fire TVs. I started with Roku years ago but they had no voice search just those tedious on screen keyboards used with the remote up/down/right/left. I liked the headset port on the Roku remotes but have since gotten Bluetooth headsets that are paired to the Fire TVs. I like the basic Playback only simplicity, and the playback of plain 1080P Blu-Ray disks that is simply put stunning. I bought mine on sale in the last two weeks and now I wish I'd ordered two more! I will order two more after this. Buy it!

I bought the Philips version of this player which is the same overall but includes 3D play back and fiber optic audio output. Main reason I purchased it was my 3D player was acting up and for $70.00 total it was worth a look. Stunned how it compared with my Samsung playing 4K and upscaling. Very solidly built and smooth dvd loading. Find the remote easy to use with well spaced buttons that respond promptly to all inputs and the range is very good. Sound quality gives up nothing to my more expensive Samsung. Frankly I can not find anything to complain about and consider it one of my better purchases so far this year.

We got this because it was basic. I don't want anymore "smart" features, we have enough of them on everything. This 4k player is awesome and produced a great image to watch. Some people complain about the remote but we have a cheap universal we use for everything anyhow, so that's not an issue for us.

I bought this because it has Progressive Scan, I like that you can stop a disk, turn off the box, and when you turn it back on, it will resume where you stopped it. It’s very basic, and has the smallest remote I’ve ever seen, fits in the palm of you hand, it makes holding and pressing the buttons a bit difficult.
