I bought this player before Christmas (about 2 weeks ago), and so far, it does exactly what is expected: play 4K UHD Blu-Ray discs in HDR. And the lack of smart features, such as Youtube or Netflix, is refreshing. Previous players that I've had have been too slow when running those apps to be usable. All I needed was to play those discs that I have, and nothing else. For those who already have Smart TVs or streaming boxes like the Roku, this is the perfect addition to the 4K Ready Home Theater.

If buying for full price, I'd probably spend a tiny bit more for something with a Toslink Optical out, but for the half off sale price this routinely goes for, I can live without. Image quality is perfect and not just because of the price. Sound output is perfect too. Its a straight digital HDMI connection, you can't really make it bad. Keep in mind this does not come with an HDMI cable so if for some reason you don't have one lying around these days, pick one up!

Great for anyone trying to get into 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on the cheap. It plays the movies in 4K with HDR10 and thats it. Perfect for most people. Especially if you can get for $79.99 like I did.

No Frills 4k hd player. The picture quality is excellent and the the TV automatically detected it and allowed it to be cotrolled by the tv's remove. (basic pause and play) The only caveat is you can not use the cheap thing hdmi cables. (It would not output a display when trying to use the cheaper cable) Using one of better quality worked flawlessly. I got it on sale for 69.00

For 80$ this is a great player, also have a 250$ Sony and side by side I see no difference other than it not being a smart player. Great buy for the price and it’s HDR 10 also,just bought two more.

my daughter is taking her xbox one s, which we used for 4k disks, when she goes to college, so i needed a player. found this unit on a wonderful sale for $50. It is fast, starting up within seconds. Visual quality is solid. I only need it to play disks, so there is no clutter or length menus to go through as in smart units. best of all, i don't need the magnavox remote. i plugged it into my samsung 4k tv through the hdmi port, and my samsung remote works the 4k player completely. play/pause/stop/rewind/fast-forward/arrows/select(ok) all work. very convenient. solid unit for a great price.

I’ll make this nice and short! If you don’t need apps and WiFi stuff just go and buy it. I bought LG but took it back 20 min later!! This magnavox awesome for the money!!

A grate non streaming Blu-Ray player. I got this to watch standard DVDs to 1080P. I got a Roku for Christmas so I don't need a streaming Blu-Ray player.

This is my first 4K player, it is well worth the price and makes movies look stunning on my 4K TV. Can't beat 60 bucks for a 4K player.

Ive had this player for 2 days. First, the picture quality with an UHD disk is not as good as my standard ps4 with blurays. Picture is dark and sound is poor and quiet. But worse than that, and remember Ive had it for 2 days, I came home from work and it's just bricked. Won't turn on, tried multiple power strips/outlets, just deader than dead. And one of my expensive new UHD discs is stuck inside. Im afraid to try to get it out because then Best Buy won't take my return if I bust it. It's literally the worst tech purchase Ive ever made. Just to save a 40 bucks instead of a better player. I'm so angry right now.

The Magnavox MBP6700P - 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player plays only 1080P/23.97Hz/SDR on my Samsung 60HU8550 television. Ref the following conditions: 1. Magnavox set to 4K output with Dynamic Range at Auto; 2. Samsung HMDI Input 4 set to UHD Color "On" - this enables read of UHD 60P 4:4:4 signal, which is ostensibly the Magnavox output; 3. HDMI cable "High Speed" (tried alternate cable, just in case...); 4. Disk played was 4K UHD "Murder on the Orient Express". Don't waste your money on the Magnavox player.

i bought this 4k bluray player on a deal of the day special. i brought this player home and was disappointed. it would not recognize my standard dvd plus or minus discs and my bdr discs. they should not advertise what it does not play. very disazppointed

I got to loading screen and hit play on movie and screen went black and wouldn’t do nothing
