Enjoyable old school Kevin Smith comedy with a lot of talking in a mall and a lot of reminding me of the good old days.

I love Kevin Smith! His movies are funny and usually have a deeper meaning.

I remember when this movie came out, I was a teen and saw it in the theater, I laughed pretty good then, and still find it hilarious today. I find a lot of the movies I watched and enjoyed as a teen i can't stand now, like clueless, I think, how in the world was I ever into that, lol. This however stood the test of time for me. Snagging it for a couple bucks on black friday makes it even better. I didn't like clerks that much, actually liked the sequel better, and while it's funny I'm still not that into dogma, chasing amy I haven't steeled myself to watch again since a teen since I don't remember liking it much, this is the only jay and silent bob movie I feel I can watch more than twice. If you like funny preposterous situations you'll probably like this.

It's Mallrats - What Else Is There to Say?

This Blu-Ray has both the theatrical and extended versions on it. Skip the extended. I couldn't watch it. A whole lot of extra garbage. But the theatrical movie is still pretty funny. You have to appreciate comics, the cheesy romance game shows of the 90's, and hanging out at the mall as kids to like this movie though. The picture and sound is good. I got it in the bargain bin at my BB so I think it's a good value.

This was to be a replacement for an old DVD that got destroyed. Overall, it's good. The disc works and there's no physical damage to it. But the case was a different story. The case looked like someone took a hammer to it. There were little pieces of plastic from the shell flying around inside it. Other than that, it's a hard to track down movie and I'm happy I got it.

Mallrats is not a good movie. Don't expect intrigue, suspense, thought-provoking narrative, or Oscar-worthy performances. These qualities aside, the movie is packed with enough laughs and quirky, memorable moments that can keep you coming back. The DVD has enough extras (commentaries, deleted scenes, featurettes) to make it worth the purchase over streaming it somewhere online. Worth a buy.

Classic Film - UV Code Expired

Great film from Kevin Smith. Jay and S Bob do not disappoint. Now, how due these get sold with expired UV code. No expiration on package and why do they need to expire anyway. Was very disappointed. To Universals credit, I did email them about the expired code and they sent me code for Fast Times so bravo to them for treating their customers right.

With the added scenes many of the goings on of Jay, Silent Bob, TS, and Brodie make a little more sense, but the original without the added scenes is a stand on its own classic Kevin Smith movie on par with Chasing Amy. Either way, a good addition to my Blu Ray library found in the $5.99 and under bin. Well worth the coffee money.

I'm a big fan of this movie. It was made with a very low budget, but that being said I think it turned out great. The fact that it primarily takes place in a mall is a lot of fun and I think takes people back to when they were young and would just 'hang' out, not necessarily at a mall even. I'm familiar with the mall where it was filmed so its even more relate able for me.

The second movie in the View Askew-averse after Clerks. It may be difficult for young adults these days to understand why malls were so popular in the 80's and 90's but in the days before Twitter, Facebook and online multi-play we had to go someplace to meet with our friends. The mall was one of those places that you could go and waste a day even if you were broke.

    Underated Kevin Smith film...

I know it isn't considered a classic in terms of the Smith Library but it still fits nicely with in the New Jersey Trilogy including Clerks and Chasing Amy. It's a fun trip back to those days when you spent time just hanging out at the mall...and would get five stars but the transfer from dvd to blu ray doesn't have a wow factor, but it is a steal for $8.00

Certainly a product of its time, and perhaps hasn't aged as well as one would have hoped, but this film is simply silly and fun. The new blu-ray release looks good, and retains the special features on the DVD edition. The cast commentary is worth a listen, the participants have a great camaraderie and provide as many laughs as the movie itself.

It's Mallrats - What did you expect?

While Mallrats doesn't quite reach the quality of "Chasing Amy" or "Clerks" this is still a fun movie and essential to rounding out your Kevin Smith collection. I bought it because it was a low price and I hadn't seen it in years. It was a fun to rewatch it again and going in knowing "This isn't as good Clerks" help me enjoy it more.

I love "Mallrats". Not just because I'm a Jersey guy, but Kevin Smith's takes are so true. Also has a part in "The Dirt Mall", which is supposed to be the old US Route 1 Flea Market. Never had a topless fortune teller but I got a cat there. Buy and enjoy "Mallrats".

Universal is hit-and-miss with catalog blu-ray releases, but this is better than their usual effort. A low-budget film that will never look fantastic, the disc looks and sounds fine. But most importantly, it carries over the vast majority of the previously-produced extras from the DVD releases.

A must see for any Kevin Smith fan has many of the same characters in other Smith Films...Jay, Silent Bob and others. Film is supposed to take place a day before Clerks but released a year later. Great cast. Very funny film at a great price.

While this movie is considered one of Kevin Smith's lesser films, its alot of fun, especially if you're a Kevin Smith fan. And it was a long wait for the bluray. As with all KS films, the highlight is often the commentary track, thats worth a purchase alone

Well, what can you say about this movie? It's Mallrats! Either you like this kind of movie or you don't (although IMO this is one of the better ones from this "genre"). That's pretty much it. Video quality is fine. Really good deal when I got it...on sale

A fine film by Smith and the rest of the team. I liked it because of my Minnesota connection and the style and humor of the movie. If you liked "Clerks" or "Chasing Amy" this film will evoke the same laughs you had with those films.
