I'm a big fan of the Superman storyline, and even though I enjoyed the Christopher Reeves movies, as a kid, they really are overly cheesy. I really loved seeing a serious approach at Superman. Superman, and the villains, all have powers that feel very real. Unfortunately, the plot doesn't seem very cohesive, and some of the characters felt thrown in, and unnecessary. Overall, it's a great start to the series, and I'm looking for to the sequels. This movie is definitely worth a view, especially if you're a fan of comic book based movies.

I think they did a good job at retelling this old story, particularly how they basically combined the plotline of the first two Christopher Reeves movies into this one film and accomplished that rather seamlessly. I also found it very creative how they enabled Superman's father to continue to interact with him in spite of what happened to their home planet. That was a nice touch that I didn't expect. The lead actor did a great reprise as the man of steel and carried along a good moral story for both young and old to enjoy as well.

I saw this movie in 3-D IMAX and loved the scope of the movie. I didn't buy into the CGI as much as I had hoped for but the movie, with Christopher Nolan behind it, takes itself much more seriously than any of the other entries. Having said that, the movie looks great in blu-ray and my daughter is free to drool over Henry Cavill as often as she feels necessary. So, if you're not afraid to see superman in a not-so-tongue-in-cheek treatment as has been portrayed previously then I would recommend this blu-ray.

This is a pretty entertaining film that could've used more character development and better pacing but still had terrific action scenes.

It's heartfelt, it's action packed, it's beautifully filmed, and it doesn't have a ton of jokes spliced throughout to undercut the dramatic tension. It's everything a superhero film should be. After seeing superhero film upon superhero film absolutely bore me to death with their bland action scenes, it was just about time that they released one that had a superhero do superhero stuff in the coolest, most intense way possible.

I'm an 80's kids,and I grew up with Christopher Reeve's, the original. Your mind has to adapt to a different kind of Superman. It was told different, but all leaning towards the same. I like this version, cause it shows how real aliens, not from this world, would move and react. It was a little getting use to, but now I love it. That's why I had to get it in 4k to get the full colors of.the movie.

A word of warning, the new packaging may not have the Blu-Ray, DVD, D-HD labels on the outside anymore, but they should still be contained inside. I had to ask the BB rep to open the contents to ensure everything was included. Anyway, this is a Zack Snyder movie so I think if they made it a R-rated movie it would have been better. But this is Superman so you have to let the younger age watch,

My favorite super hero! I saw his one at one of my Best Buy trips to explore and buy some impulse purchase. I just wish the employees would leave me alone and stop asking me if I need help or stare at me the whole time. Buy really good movie and the dolby atmos track is something else! Buy this 4K and add it to your collection please

Loved the new take on Superman, the story really needed an update to make Superman relevant again. Great origin story, Krypton was awesome to see and Russell Crow does an amazing job, along side Michael Shannon. Entertaining movie to watch even if your not a Superman fan, fun for the whole family. Bought my copies on release day (3-D Collector's Edition & 2 Disc Bluray) and bought 4 more as stocking stuffers when they went on sale for Christmas!!! Can't wait for Superman vs Batman

Acting winners here are Crowe and Costner. Both actors nail their respective roles The Man of Steel remains the best Superman film yet. The action on display in the last hour of Man of Steel is among the biggest and best Summer blockbusters Man of Steel trumps expectations.

I have a few things I look for when buying a movie and the main thing is replay-ability. This is a big budget comic book adaptation and it doesn't disappoint. Good cast and great special effects make this a fun and very entertaining movie. This version also comes with a digital copy that , using ultra-violet, you can link to Vudu, Cinema Now, or a few other online video apps. This is an obvious choice if you are wanting to add something to your movie collection because it has a very wide appeal.

I think this is a good start for the resurgence of Superman and DC Comic movies. When I saw it in theaters I had some problems with it and I'm still not convinced they handled Pa Kent correctly. He should've been a more important aspect of the movie, but the filmmakers decided to use more of Russel Crowe as Jor-El. After buying it and watching it at home I enjoyed it more. I believe it's a good start for the continuation of the Superman franchise and hope we see more standalone Superman films soon.

The movie is fantastic. While I wished that Zach Snyder used less action and gave us more simple human interactions, I think he does a great job in giving us what he does, action and the origin story. The movie is darkish, similar to Christopher Nolan's trilogy, and I like that because it gives the movie and opportunity to break away from the stories of Superman that we all already know. The movie isn't perfect but there's so many opportunities for this series to grow.

I already owned this on 1080p blu ray since its initial release. But now that I have upgraded my tv from a 2012 model I decided to upgrade my collection. HDR is really nice. Especially in the opening scene which is basically a mini movie in and of itself. This imo is one of the best comic book adaptations of all time.

The disc pictured by Best Buy May show a digital code but the copy that comes in the mail is definitely not that one. I was fortunate because I wrote in to Warner Brothers and they did email me one after sending photo proof of my purchase and that the receipt said one was included but fair warning to anyone purchasing that the website has a misleading picture on it.

Growing up with Reeves as Superman and did not have any expectations of this movie because of some disappointment to the previous movie remake. This movie had structured a good story line in showing Clark Kent trying to adapt and find his place in the world. The movies also show this good way of how he develops into Superman. One thing that I was kind of disappointed in was toward the end of the movie. As a whole, it was a good storyline and enjoyed it very much.

Being a superfan of the original superman series, the latest release prior to 'man of steel' was huuugely dissapointing. With that said I went into Man of Steel with very high hopes. Now, the story isn't perfect and without flaw, but overall this is a MUUUCH better movie to re energize the franchise. The visual effects are fantastic and the sound design and mixing was just as excellent. If you have a good home theater that you'd like to show off, this is a great disc to do that with.

Finally, a Superman film that allows me to put the Donner/Reeve version to rest. I loved it when it first came out but it's dated and cheesy. Man of Steel has an original timeless take on Superman and all of the acting is superb.

The graphics in all of the movie were amazing some of the scenes just blew my mind I couldn't believe what I was actually watching. I was somewhat disappointed and how they ran with the story though. I was expecting to watch the Superman that I grew up with in the story and everything. I'm not a Superman groupie so I don't read the comics or anything like that but I did grow up on all the supermans with Christopher Reeves and was kind of expecting something like that kind of a shame.

I love and hate 4K! Once I got my 4K TV i could immediately tell the difference in picture quality. Unfortunately that meant i had to start upgrading my movie catalog to 4K. Thank goodness for Best Buys sales. This is an underrated masterpiece of storytelling that looks amazing in 4K. Henry Cavill will forever by MY Superman.
