I think Man of Steel is a decent movie. It takes itself a little too seriously and is pretty dark and moody. The special effects are good and there's weightiness in the fighting. In terms of Blu-ray quality, the video quality is pretty good. Note there's a good amount of film grain. The audio quality is great.

I was late seeing this movie, just bought it on UHD and watched for the first time. I think this was an AWESOME movie... Great storyline,.... Seemed to mix the original Superman 1 and 2 together, great aspects of both with today's incredible movie making technology. Even though this is considered a "fake" 4k disc, it still looks incredible and I totally feel this is worth the UHD cost.

This is a very well done film. I think each character was well cast. I like that its an origin. There has been some criticism that this version of Superman is angrier then prior ones (thinking about the final battle scene with Zod). This version is more in tune with humanity. (take the good with the bad.) I'll be interested to see the direction Zach Snyder takes with the whole Superman mythology. 2015 can't come soon enough!

This is part of the new DC Universe of films, so if you are following these movies it is worth seeing. The movie was good, but not great. Passed on seeing it in the theater, and paying full price for the Blu-Ray when it first came out. But got it on sale later, and would recommend it if you can do the same. Besides, the DC Universe movies are finally getting better, so why not collect the series?

I'm a big Batman and Superman fan and I grew up reading comics. I understand that comics have changed and things are much different (darker) now, but Superman is the one character who cannot be anything other than truth, justice, honor, and GOOD. I know this world has changed but some of us still believe in heroes who do the right thing no matter what, and always find a way to stay the hero - not become the villian. Good movie but could've been better.

Overall a good movie. Being a pretty avid superman fan, albeit I've never read much of the comics, I enjoyed the movie and found the action scenes quite stunning. For the story, it's an interesting take on superman development, but the downside is outside of Superman vs Zod, there's not much character development or plot. Missing is any sort of non-super hero Clark Kent development, or depth of relationships with the other characters, including Lois.

Great film; not only do the action and special effects shine here but the acting is also strong. Henry Cavill is as good as Christoper Reeve ever was and Michael Shannon is INCREDIBLE as General Zod. I admit Amy Adams I found somewhat disappointing as Lois Lane but she was still a lot better than Kate Bosworth in Superman Returns. Incredible movie and a MUST SEE; especially the 3D version!

Having recently become obsessed with all things Marvel, I was hesitant to check out the films of the DC Universe. As a standalone action movie, Man of Steel is great. As a Superman movie, it is pretty dark. I am still more a fan of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies of the 70s and 80s. I am curious to see how this story will tie into the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe with the upcoming release of Batman v. Superman.

This 4K disc is an excellent improvement over the standard blu-ray disc. Images are much sharper, and the HDR elevates this disc for a much more refined contrast and color. Blu-ray released years before this was great, but the 4K disc puts this movie at another level. Definitely worth the upgrade to 4K if you're a fan of Man of Steel.

Loved the computer graphics!! The strength and power of superman and all his awesomeness!!! The change up of his usually nemesis Lex Luther and the over used kryptonite and having someone just as strong as the man of steel in general Zod and crew. A darker story only emphasizes the true depth of superman and how he was portrayed before he became a known hero. A superman movie for a true superman fan!!!

Generally speaking, I'm much more of a DC franchise person than a Marvel franchise person; the DC movies are darker and have a moodier feel than their often slapstick counterparts. Superman is the one DC character with whom I never felt a connection. He's a total boy scout and is driven to do good at all times and regardless of the outcomes. The ending made me very happy. So did the Wayne Tech tie-in.

This was easily my favorite superhero movie, as well as overall movie, of 2013. Superman had been in need of an update on the big screen, and director Zack Snyder and actors Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, et. al., certainly do not disappoint! Russell Crowe as Jor-El nearly steals the movie, and Hans Zimmer proves once again that he is one of the finest film composers of all time with his incredible score. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

I don't always watch Superman movies...but when I do, I rather watch Man of Steel. I really don't want to say to much about the movie because I don't want to accidentally spoil it to some. So all I am going to say about this movie is that if you like action, this movie has it. If want to know a bit of background on how the man became "Super", this movie has it. Oh...and Amy Adams is the best NA.

Probably the best of the Superman movies in a long time, great story line with both past and present brought together. Strong message about how being different regardless of who you are people will question you and sometime fear what they don't understand. Good fight sequence, little drawn out at the end but still exciting. Great introductory to the Superman franchise for the younger generation!

Good movie. It has its flaws but still enjoyable. Henry Cavill is the perfect cast as Clark Kent, and I wished they developed more of his character as Clark Kent than leaving it off for a second movie. Instead, this movie falls prey to the epic end of the world scenario as all superhero movies do.

the movie looks amazing and i highly recommend it. I'm a dc fan so I'm a little biased here (just being honest.) 4K ultra hd is always the way to go for the best quality experience. Plus if you don't have 4K capabilities, you can just watch the blu ray instead.

I enjoyed this movie at the theater, so I bought the 3D Bluray when it came out. Overall, I enjoyed the increased back story of the destruction of Krypton; great acting by Russell Crowe and Michael Shannon in those scenes. The special effects were excellent and added to the movie's plot. Good acting overall, some slow plot points especially the flashback scenes, but a good movie overall that adds to the Superman legend.

I love the new story for Superman. It is better than watching the sane origin story over and over again. We actually get a feel for Kal-El's parents and who they were. The story line is well thought out and makes sense why everything happens the way it happens in the movie. There is a large amount of violence that while ok for adults, makes the film unwatchable for younger audiences.

Great movie and for anyone who loves the Superman movies. I like all of the versions and this one does not disappointed. Has a good amount of substance to the story as well as some unique twists that kept me entertained and engaged. I was a little disappointed that Superman actually killed someone (he's never done that before 2013) and I got a little tired of the many fist fight scenes - kinda reminded me a video game.

Lots of people are torn on this because it almost felt like two movies - an interesting opening that leads to an amalgam of flashbacks during the present (I didn't mind) that then falls into a gigantic destruction movie (in my opinion). Does it have problems? Yes. With any analyzing though, all movies do. I enjoyed it overall and recommend it for anyone interested in a "darker" superhero movie.
