    I chose this tripod because of the flipping lockers, I did not want the kind you twist, too much hassel. Tripod has treated me well so far.

    The manfrotto 290. Very nice. Smooth. Easy to use. Not as light as I was looking for but it works great

    While it seems like a nice and lightweight tripod, it is missing a critical part: the screw to actually attach the plate to the camera! We bought the tripod for a special event we were shooting and didn't look at it too closely until we had drove 6 hours to the event. Lo and behold when I reached to grab the plate and stick the camera on, there was no screw! This rendered it useless for the event and now we have to desperately look for a replacement screw before we leave on another trip in 2 days! One would think a nearly $200 tripod would come with ALL the parts needed. It's ironic that the most expensive tripod I've ever purchased is the only one that ever came without this small-but-critical part.
