Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the 290 Tripod with Fluid Video Head's stability, lightweight design, and ease of use. Many appreciate the quality build and the smooth operation of the fluid head, which enhances adjustability. However, some users noted challenges with panning and the mounting plate, including missing components in some instances. Overall, the positive feedback on the tripod's key features outweighs the reported minor drawbacks.

They are lots of good camera tripods on the market... But i wanted the best, For me Manfroto makes the best... manfrotto manufacturers their tripods and all their products in Italy, it doesn't get any better than that. Plus I enjoy shopping at Best Buy and I feel that it's very important to support the big box stores along with the mom and pop stores, because of online companies like Amazon, Amazon has put so many great stores out of business. And if there's something that I need and Best Buy has it whether in the store or online I will purchase from Best Buy. I love coming into the store because I'm old school and I want to be able to see see the item be able to touch it. But I will definitely bye online only from Best Buy. And one last thing the store that I go into as great customer service.

Great Stability — But Fluid Head Design Is Flawed

The Manfrotto 290 Tripod with Fluid Video Head delivers excellent stability and solid build quality — it stands firm for both photo and video work and feels dependable during shoots. However, the fluid head is the weak point. I’ve purchased two of these, and both developed the same issue — the head starts to feel loose after some use, almost like the glue or internal mechanism gives out. This results in unwanted movement and makes precise panning difficult. After doing some research, it seems other users have run into the same problem with this head design. It’s a shame because the tripod itself is great, but the fluid head holds it back — especially considering the price. For what it costs, you’d expect a much more durable and consistent performance.

Works great. Light weight and sturdy. Head great for smooth movement. Wished there was a way to lever the head independent of the legs, but otherwise works great with my current camera equipment. The price point is really good too.

Great medium duty tripod for video or photo shoots on location. Portable, easy to carry. On my nature or trail projects I would strap it to my gadget bag or backpack. Small enough to keep in my car when not in use.

Bought this while I was traveling, gets the job done. This is a good tripod head for photo and it’s okay for video if you are just tilting back and forth. Not good for panning .

I have been using cheap tripods for years and this one is s game changer. The build quality is excellent and sturdy. The fluid head works great. The only downside is that it does not come with a carrying case. Highly recommended.

Tried several different tripods before settling on this one. It's super light and durable. No issues with connections slipping like the other ones I'd tried. Highly recommend for on the go work!

It is light and pans smoothly. The only concern is if you have a heavy lens since the tripod itself is light, there may be some extra care not to have your camera fall over. If you are traveling with the tripod, it is nice because it is light.

A little pricey for what comes included but very stable. Could use a couple more ways to tighten or loosen for panning purposes.

I have an older Bogen 3040 tripod that has served me well for over 45 years, but it is too heavy to carry in the field. The Manfrotto is a great light-weight tripod that is compact, but sturdy.
