Customers are saying

Customers commend the Compact Action Smart 61" Tripod for its sturdiness, lightweight design, and affordability, finding it ideal for travel due to its compact size and compatibility with various devices. However, some users experienced challenges with the panning feature, the lack of a built-in level, and the phone holder's stability. Concerns were also raised regarding the tripod head's maneuverability and the reliability of the locking mechanism.

Decent - gets the job done

I was looking for a more intermediate to advanced level tripod and this one is definitely more for beginners and who aren't looking for the sturdiest, smoothest experience. The swivel is difficult to deal with and i found it nearly impossible to get steady shots with a heavy DSLR while the swivel was looser (to allow for video pan movement shots.) I have found myself using the tripod mostly with my phone - i really like the added phone clip they provide. Honestly I would not pay this much for this quality of tripod again as I feel I could have gotten the same quality from a $30 amazon one.

This item is OK for use as a standard tripod and it will hold a smart phone, I didn’t see any option for an iPad or other tablet. When panning a scene, it did not rotate as smoothly as I would like.

    Not good for video taping

Do not buy this for videotaping over large fields. It was pretty expensive and doesn't work as expected. I don't know how to describe the problems with this tripod but I'm going to try. This tripod has a left-right radius, but no real up and down movement. So, when you try to take action video, like kid playing soccer over a large field, the result is arced and it throws off the video. You start video taping with your subject in view, but if you have to move far left or far right it arcs the entire video camera and now the subject is out of view. Pay the extra money and get a tripod with two handles that allows you to pivot up down left right freely so you can keep the horizon in a straight line. Take my word for it, don't buy this if you are trying to video tape kids playing football, soccer, field hockey etc over large field. Okay for still shots.

Average tripod. I feel as if this tripod in particular fell short as a Manfrotto brand. Has a cheap feel and does not feel very sturdy when handling the tripod.

Be careful with the size of the camera used with this tripod. I used my Nikon P1000 with it and it is not meant for this size of camera!

This is a lightweight tripod has an attachment for your smart phone or even an old digital camera I guess if you like. I don't think the quality is that great and not worth the money

    Tripod leg came apart

This product was nice initially but then the lower two sections of one leg came apart. There are fragile little plastic pieces that hold it all together and they just fell apart. I expected better quality for the price I paid. The rest of the tripod is good but without being able to extend the legs it can't serve the purpose.

Not so great, the screw which holds the head, doesn't stay tight. Just for very light weight cameras.

Solid for photography I’m sure, but not a big fan of the lack of the stability and smoothness when panning for videos

Works solid for what I need it for. A little pricy for what you get though. There are other tripods that are a better value.

This is a good tripod for still photography, but not for video. The salesperson at BestBuy sold it to me as a video tripod which it definitely is NOT!!!

It will do the job. Has all the standard functions and features of an “acceptable” tripod but I expected more from a Manfrotto.
