The attachment to hold the phone broke on 3rd day, which was a disappointment, but we can still use it for our gimbal (main reason for buying). Wouldn't recommend for phones simply based on the lack of durability we experienced,

Excellent and Durable Tripod!

Almost 8 inches in length, it's great for tabletop and handheld usage. It is made of very sturdy material. It is not flimsy by any means. Though you don't want to use it for a camera or phone that's too wide for the clamp. The clamp, as it states on its packaging, will only stretch up to 8 cm (about 3 inches). I was just able to get my iPhone 6S (with a Pelican phone case) in the clamp. Anything bigger would be too big. But once you get your device into the clamp, it holds it very tightly. I could be swinging the tripod around with the my phone in the clamp and would it still maintain a strong grip on it. Another thing worth noting is that the legs have rubber padding on the bottom so the tripod's legs doesn't slide or get easily damaged. Overall, this tripod is very durable and easy to use. I would highly recommend it for your basic photography and video recording needs!
