      Hi CharlesB,
Owing to the amount of calls we would receive from customers who had misplaced their user manual and were requesting a replacement, we found making the manual available online would be of greater overall use to our product owners.
This allows everyone to have a copy at the ready on their phone/tablet/laptop etc. instead of having to wait a few days for a copy to arrive in the mail. It is downloadable too, so if the internet is down for any reason, it doesn’t have to be an issue.
Going paperless also allows us to be a little more green.

Returned. I researched AVRs to replace 15-year old Yamaha to pair with 75" Samsung QN75Q90R, Vienna Acoustic Grand Mozart speakers, Vienna Maestro Grand center, Apple TV 4K, Panasonic DP-UB820, URC820 remote, and latest high-end cables. After having it installed professionally and troubling shooting the system several times I returned the unit. I'd selected Marantz over a similar Denon 3700. After reconnecting the Yamaha everything sounds good. All the latest tech inside the Marantz did not work as advertised. The sound was very inconsistent between music and movies, none for the better. Also, handshaking and switching between devices was slower with Marantz. I decided to keep the Yamaha and will reconsider a new AVR in another 2-5-years. The old Yamaha based system works much better!! No fault of Best Buy, they handled the return and I'd buy from BB again (and have).

Have had the receiver for 6 months or so and have had Yamaha before this. The Heos app is garbage and the receiver will not stay connected.I even had it wired to the internet and it still won't work. The sound quality is amazing but the firmware is terrible. You have to turn it on more than once to get it to come on sometimes and the lag is horrible.I am tired of messing with it and am going to return it for something else. Granted, Yamaha has it problems also so will be trying something else.

    HDMI 2.1 bug renders 8k and 4K 120hz useless

Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This unit will not support 8k or 4K at 120hz. This receiver along with most others like demon, Yamaha, etc, all have a hardware design flaw due to the Panasonic chips they are using. There is no firmware update that will be able to fix it as it’s a hardware issue. All manufacturers using the chips in their receivers will suffer the same HDMI 2.1 bug. Marantz is having to issue an adapter of sorts to remedy the issue but you’ll always have to have the adapter present and who knows how long it’ll last in the long run or if Marantz will keep supplying them. Wait for a new model with updated chips for HDMI. https://www.whathifi.com/news/denon-and-marantz-announce-fix-for-4k120hz-bug Returned sadly.

The 5015 doesn't output HDMI based sources to Zone 2 independently. You have to use the All Zone Stereo feature in order to get any HDMI based audio out to Zone 2. For HEOS Music, you can use the HEOS App to start music in Zone 2 or you would have to start HEOS Music in the Main Zone first and then mimic it out to Zone 2. marantz

worked great for 10 months and then the wifi board died and marantz customer service informed me that it may not be covered by warranty. I contacted the authorized repair centers and they informed me there would be a $70 charge just to look at it and around $400 to repair it if the warranty didnt cover it. Needless to say I just junked it and purchased a nad 778t. I will NEVER buy another dennon/marantz product again.

    Problems with 4k/120Hz Passthrough

Apparently there’s a known issue with 4K/120Hz passthrough, which Best Buy didn’t mention anywhere. This issue has been around for well over a year. Marantz will send you a free adapter to fix the issue, but I need THREE of them (you only get one). 4K/120 is the main reason I purchased this unit and I’m pretty upset that Best Buy mentioned nothing about it.

      Hi Steve,
The 4K/120Hz fix was only required if you have an Xbox Series X, and for that, it is only necessary to use the adapter if your receiver was built after May 2021. When you look at the serial #, the important thing to note is the date of manufacture. For example, MCBY062170001 means that the unit was made in June 2021. May 2021 was the cut-off when the receiver no longer needed the SPK618 adapter with an Xbox Series X, so any model built in May 2021 and later should not need the adapter. https://manuals.marantz.com/SR5015/NA/EN/DRDZSYuvqzolrz.php. You may need to select 8K Enhanced in the setup menu. I attached a link that will help guide you through the settings.
Select 8k enhanced if your TV, playback devices, and cables support high-quality 8K 60p or 4K 120p video signals. Please do not hesitate to contact our customer support team if further assistance is required. https://support.marantz.com/ marantz

Replaced an Onkyo TX-NR646. (very good AVR 2015 model). The Marantz SR5015 so versatile that it is important to have patience when tweaking after your you run EQ with Audessey. The sound is is amazing! Music & movies are reproduced with warmth and clarity. The amplifier section is superb! Do not understand some of the issues stated in some reviews. My system is set up as Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 Polk S55 Towers, Polk Reserve 300 Center, Polk S10 bookshelf on speaker stands for surround. KEF Q50 Dolby Atmos speakers. Klipsch S10 150 watt Sub. Samsung QLED 65 inch TV & SonyUBP-700/M 4K Blu-Ray. The SR5015 does an outstanding job bringing it all together for an immersive sound stage. Do it right and you will not be disappointed. Minor complaints: Much prefer a full display and backlit remote.

    Great sound, but flaky connectivity

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The ease of use and sound are excellent! The issue I have is it has difficulty with HDMI connectivity. Frequently I turn everything on and I get no sound or no picture. I contacted Marantz and they told me it sounded like an HDMI handshake issue. To resolve, they suggested disconnect the HDMI cable, then reconnect it. That is a work around, not a fix. (connected to a DirecTV HR-24) ARC is another issue where most of the time it does not work. Also, if you change inputs (e.g. changing to blue-ray, or ARC (called TV sound on the remote) then back to DirecTV, the sound will be lost again. Resetting the HDMI cable may or may not work to correct it. Sometimes you have to hard reboot the receiver, sometimes a soft reboot will work. I still have not figured out the one thing that will restore the sound. I just keep trying all of the above until it works again. VERY FRUSTRATING! I wish this would be fixed because I love the sound it produces and the ease of use. Great design there. But these flaky issues should not exist at this price point! (Or any other for that matter)

Thank you for the review and providing feed back. Happy to hear you are enjoying the ease of use and overall sound quality. I can understand your frustrations. Question, is the DIRECTV box connected to the Receiver or to the TV. If connected to the TV, try connecting the DIRECTV box to the receiver first. This removes the ARC from the equation. Allowing for a more direct audio signal path. Another suggestion is changing HDMI cables to Premium High-speed or Ultra High-speed HDMI 2.1. Again we apologize for the frustration and hope this helps. marantz

Very nice sound using Polk Audio speakers in 5.2 configuration. Excellent sound, easy to set up and volume control has a lot of steps so you can get the perfect loudness. Quality 3 stars due to only having 1 month need to see how it passes the test of time. Value and ease of use 5 stars. You get bragging rights for high end equipment at mid range price. Set up is not difficult and I use a Harmony remote to control everything so no worries there.
