Didn’t open the box, traded up for the 7015 because of a better deal. But if this is like it’s big brother then it’s a good one, too.

Marantz kicks Denon to the curb

Glad it exchanged my Denon for a Marantz, worth the extra money, this receiver can handle the power demands I throw at it easily rocks the house above the 90% power volume levels without a single thermal cutoff hapen yet, unlike the Denon that cuts off above 75% demand plus noticeable distortion setting in above that level, marantz is crisp clear and powerful all the way into 90+ % range...

Upgraded from an old 2014 Yamaha receiver, was looking for something that would last me 10 years or more, have HDMI 2.1, have external amp connections, the latest sound codecs and solid build. This SR6015 fit the bill nicely after a lot of research on comparable receivers. Sounds great, has a great menu, and everything works great. Highly recommended.

I purchased this receiver a little less than a month ago for the 4K/8k pass through and it’s wireless capabilities. It was extremely easy to setup up and sounds amazing. It sounds much better than the receiver it replaced which I wasn’t expecting. Even if you have no experience with this type of equipment, the receiver itself walks you though the setup procedures. Doesn’t get any easier. Build quality is great and it looks sleek in its spot amongst my other home theater equipment. Weather I’m watching a movie from my Oppo 4K player, cable tv, streaming a movie or using the apple airplay listening to music, this receiver sounds amazing. You can’t got wrong with the Marantz SR6015. It’s a powerful, beautiful piece of equipment that has everything you could need in a home theater receiver. I’m very pleased to say the least with my purchase.

I had too many things to hook up, and AV switchers seem hit or miss. This allows me to connect 4K (and one 8K) video by HDMI, optical digital cables, audio cables, phono, etc. Now I have all my devices (including a cassette and phone) connected.
Hook it to surround speakers and you have a true home theater

I've owned all kinds of receivers but never something so high end. After my pioneer elite died, I tried a few different receivers before settling on the Marantz and I'm glad I did. The app is amazing as is the on screen display. Most importantly, it sounds fantastic.

Performs very well during ATMOS content for my theater room. Anxiously waiting for my preferred surround speakers to arrive to re-assess the quality sounds it exhibits. Very easy to operate manually although it can be do through Alexa or Google assistant.

I was replacing a Pioneer Elite receiver that had become nothing but a headache. I kept trying to revive it because the sound was perfect for my ear. I initially purchased a $1200 Dennon for the replacement. The sound produced by the Dennon left my ear slightly underwhelmed so back in the box it went. Brought home the Marantz and holy heck I never looked back! The minimalist/retro look is way cool and made me smile as soon as I unwrapped it.
Installation and adjustments were easy! When I turned it on the warmth of the music made me wanna cry! I was in musical heaven! This receiver is paired with in ceiling Speakercraft speakers and a Bowers and Wilkins sub.
Sure, I paid more for this receiver than the Dennon but I place this receiver securely in the “I got what I paid for” category. I can’t wait to turn it on every morning as soon as I wake up and it plays until we go to bed.
I think I’m now Marantz for life!
Cheers!

Rocks the House

The sound is incredible (and I only have 7.2). I use the all zone stereo setting while listening to music or watching sports, which brings the game into the room. Action movies are the best use of the surround mode. While the performance is top notch, there is a lag when changing inputs. This is something I’ll have to get used to since I use the system to change inputs frequently while watching multiple games at once.
A nice feature to have is you can rename the inputs in the app.
I do recommend the Marantz SR6015, it rocks the house at a mid range price point, be sure to use quality speakers.

After lusting after Marantz for years, and waiting for the 4K issue with their chip sets to resolve, I finally took the leap in to a higher end receiver to take full advantage of 4k via HDMI 2.2, 8k upscaling, and all the other features packed into this unit . I've owned the SR6015 AVR for close to 3 months now, and the time has flown by while I've been enjoying this unit. I upgraded my TV to 55" Samsung LED 4K in 2019 and set my sights on a receiver immediately after. Bought this unit to replace an ~2007 Yamaha receiver, and the difference is night and day.
Screen display is bright and vibrant through the 4K upscaling, but I'm noticing some issues of blending between shades of black and gray, as well as colors in general. I'll keep adjusting settings, but I may wind up replacing the TV to something more on par with the quality of this receiver as opposed to the mid-tier Samsung I currently have.
Audyssey set up was a breeze, and even with an off-center seating/viewing configuration, Audyssey did a great job calibrating the offset that audio separation of the channels is clearly distinguishable and consistent in volume. I bought a pair of Sony Atmos add-on speakers as much for the price as the convenience, since I'm currently shopping for a new set of speakers. Currently connected to a pair of NHT 2.1s, Super Center, and Super 1 surrounds. After 20 years, these things still sound amazing but I want to upgrade L&R fronts for integrated Atmos. Bass is supported by a 300-watt Polk audio powered sub, also on the agenda to be upgraded. All HDMI's throughout are Audioquest Carbon 8K, and all 5 front speakers are connected by Monster Z2.
It's great for movies, gaming on the PS4 is seamless with no discernable lag, and the playback of streaming 4K via the Samsung UHD Player is amazing. I haven't purchased any 4K source materials yet, but I'm eager to see this perform with actual hardcoded materials, as opposed to compressed signal.
While it's currently connected via Wi-Fi, I'm not using any of the features like Pandora or Spotfiy, just because I don't want to stop watching movies with the new audio.
So far, I haven't found anything I'm disappointed about in performance, but I do wish the little Marantz circle lit up like their other receivers.

Not bad but I wish I waited for the next newer model. Turns off a lot, slow , and doesn’t work with both Xbox and PlayStation 5 to max out.

I think that ALL receivers are over-priced. That said, when one of my old high-end receivers died the search for a new one began. After considering Denon, Yamaha and other receivers considered to be of similar quality and capabilities, this one was my final choice. Provides superb sound quality, a clean and elegant appearance, 8k video capabilities and 9 speakers and 3 subs capability. I am happy with the purchase but for the price it better last a long, long time!

I do love the clarity of sound this AVR produces. The ATMOS processing is great. The thing I would say is not so great is the way it processes the commands from my Sony TV. It wants to switch to things at strange times and seems ot take a while to do so. It also will occasionally get stuck with no sound needing to be rebooted to play anything. But these are both very minor annoyances.
