Hence, visited Best Buy to search for that speaker but the sound clarity and pricing of this was unmatched. I found a speaker cheaper than the limited edition but with the same specifications.

Good, warm-bit-defined sound profile, with a couple pre-set equalizer profiles in the east to use app. Surprisingly good at filling a medium sized room without sounding strained or flat.

Just “mid”

The sound is just “mid” though. I read they use Sony components and dressed it up with Marshall aesthetics. I wish I had researched it beforehand but I was at the beach and had forgotten our superior Boom’s. Holds up great at the beach otherwise but if you want better sound look elsewhere.

Hard to tell when you turn the unit off as slow to react and lights stay on an extra long time making you think power is not off.

Doesn't work with Android 14

I had a Google Pixel 6, and none of the Marshall android App features worked. No tuning, no sound adjustments, equalizer, treble, bass, nothing. You just have to use Bluetooth to pair to the speaker with no use of any of the advertised features. All you get is volume control. This is a known issue, and when you open the app, you are immediately notified of issues with Android 14. The very newest version of Android that was released on October 4, 2023 will not work with this speaker. Nowhere in the product listing do they share that they know about this issue, before you buy. They wait until after they have your money to reveal this crucial fact. Is there a firmware update? Are their developers working on it?Nope. They do not care. I just got a Pixel 8a, and it refuses to pair at all. Pricey Bluetooth speaker and it's basically a paperweight.

About Android 14: it is true that it is problematic, but the fault is not with the Marshall app. Android 14 is not able to run both classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE at the same time. In order to connect to the headphones and the app, your device will use both classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE. The issue has been identified and the expectation is that Android 15 will resolve this issue. It is unfortunately out of Marshall's hands, it is an Android 14 limitation.
We understand that it is frustrating and apologize for how it has impacted your experience. Have you been in touch with the Marshall Support Team? It is possible to use the speaker without the app, they can guide you through the process.
