    Small speaker, big sound!

The Marshall - Emberton II BT Portable Speaker will surprise you with its small stature and big sound. The Marshall Emberton II comes in that iconic Marshall look with the name on the front of the portable Bluetooth speaker and is wrapped in what seems to be faux leather but it still looks great with its gold lettering and control knob. It weighs about a pound and a half and supports Bluetooth 5.1. It is also rated IP67 for dust and water resistance. It also has 30 plus hours of playtime and also has a fast charge feature that will get you four hours of playtime with 20 minutes of charge. Which comes in handy when you just want to jam out without having to wait too long after forgetting to charge you Bluetooth speaker. Inside the box it includes a USB-C charging cable. You can also “stack” or link multiple Emberton II speakers together. I was thoroughly impressed with the Emberton II sound as I do not really expect much from Bluetooth speakers in this size range. First I noticed how clear it was even at higher volume levels. The Emberton II is said to have 360 degree sound with “True Stereophonic”. You can hear music in all directions from this speaker as opposed to other speakers in this range which you can mainly only hear music coming directly in front of the speaker. Just don’t expect much in the bass department as it is a smaller speaker. There is still a sense of clear bass but just not deep but you have to know the limitations of the speaker of course. To me that is not a deal breaker because you get a clear and loud portable speaker with that Marshall brand name.

    Miniature Audio Powerhouse

This Marshall Emberton II Portable Bluetooth Speaker resembles Marshall's iconic guitar speakers, and that's a big reason why I love it. My son used to be in a band and they were what he had. The look of this "mini mimic" speaker is familiar, and evokes so many good memories. Build quality is most definitely there! This Marshall Emberton II is made really, really well. With the audio performance to match. The sound coming from this speaker is simply, beautiful. Full, and clear, and rich. Vibrant. Authentic. Yes, there is an app - Marshall Bluetooth. It's simplistic, but that's fine. Sometimes you don't need to overcomplicate things, and just the basics are enough. The speaker is dust and water resistant, a design feature which is good since I intend to use this outside on my back patio when I'm relaxing in the tiny hot tub we got this spring. Living in Arizona, we get dust 'storms'; and even if I place the speaker on the little shelf along the edge of the hot tub, whatever minimal water spray may get on it, I know the speaker will be fine. Oh, and lest we forget how cool the sounds are that the speaker makes when it turns on (and off)! This Marshall Emberton II Bluetooth Speaker is lightweight, portable, and quite simply the cutest!

The Marshall - Emberton II BT Portable Speaker is one of my favorite little Bluetooth speakers. The style, quality and sound are simply amazing for such a small speaker. This thing really is cute, but don't let that fool you. The sound is awesome. Marshall, being known for their guitar amplifiers, really knock it out of the park with their Bluetooth speaker line. The Emberton II is water resistant, has huge battery life, beautiful asthetics and will give you about 4 hours of play time after just 20 minutes of charging. In the box, you will get the speaker and a USB-C cable for charging. The speaker housing has a very nice rubber-like texture that gives a great grip and water resistance. Any kind of music will sound great through this speaker. My wife and I use this out on the deck to listen to all kinds of music, and they all sound great. I even left it outside by accident one night while it was raining. The speaker worked like a champ even after getting rained on all night. If you are looking for a small but great sounding Bluetooth speaker, you will not be disappointed with the Marshall Emberton II. Especially, if you love Marshall amps!

    Sounds Good But Missed Opportunity

I have Marshall Monitor II ANC’s as well as Marshall Motif ANC’s, so I may be biased in my expectations of the Emberton II. This was supposed to be a huge improvement from the original Emberton, but they missed the mark for me, in terms of missed opportunities. The battery does only take ~3 hours to get to full charge. The quick charging was great to see, just out of the box. The unit connects easily and seamlessly to the app, which is great, since my other two Marshall products are run by the same app. The app is very functional, and the simplicity makes it easy to navigate. The unit comes packaged very well, looks and feels great. Especially the characteristic feel and texture of the outside. The battery lasts a very long time, even at higher volumes. The battery charge indicator is great to have, and reminds me of an LED equalizer from back in the day. It’s substantial and feels good in the hand. Marshall uses their True Stereophonic technology for 360 degrees of music. It sounds good, but they accomplish this by having one speaker facing forward and one facing rearward, as opposed to a ‘true’ stereo configuration. To achieve the ‘true’ stereo, I assume you’d have to use a second speaker paired to the first. At reasonable levels of bass, the passive radiators work well. Compared to other units in its class, it should be a bit louder. Features that they missed the mark on, where attention should have been given to, include: [1] doesn’t support HD music; [2] multi-function button; [3] DSP (digital signal processor). The unit does not have the codec(s) to play HD (high-fidelity, high resolution) music like Tidal and Amazon subscriptions provide. The multi-function button is convenient to control on/off, volume increase/decrease, and skip tracks. My fingers aren’t that big, but I still select functions I didn’t intend. The button needs to be a bit bigger. My top con for the Emberton II is the DSP (digital signal processor). The unit alone does not produce bass signals even comparable to my Marshall Monitor II ANC. When it reaches the threshold of the bass it can produce, the DSP kicks in to prevent the speakers from distorting the sound. Unfortunately, the DSP does not seem to work in proportion to the signal. When the DSP circuit kicks in, the sound becomes monotone, ‘tinny’, lifeless, with way too much treble. Never thought I’d say this, but it is more respectable to just let the sound get distorted…it’s an audible acknowledgement of limitations. The DSP keeps playing your song devoid of any energy. I’m not a professional audiophile, but the DSP is just horrible. When it kicks in, it is not subtle, and I usually end up changing the song. It REALLY is that bad.

    Amazing Little Speaker

Let me make this easy: If you’re looking for a portable speaker that sounds better than speakers 4x its size and is small enough that you can chuck it in any bag — look no further. The soundstage rivals anything I’ve heard from a Bluetooth device — that is to say, inherently limited by the Bluetooth technology, but about as good as you can possibly get. Unlike JBL / Bose / UE speakers, it sounds remarkably accurate, effortlessly reproducing a clear, authentic soundstage. It’s fairly neutral throughout most of its range, only starting to get the slightest bit muddy at the absolute highest of volumes. Mids are consistent throughout, and vocals sound clear and fantastic. Put it in the middle of a ~400-sq. ft room and you’ll be blown away. Build quality? It feels practically bulletproof. I recently discovered that rubber sleeve around it comes off(!) for easy cleaning, if you’re into that sort of thing. The battery life is staggering. They rate it at 20 hours, but I’ve been getting 25+ at medium volume. I use it for about 1-2 hours per day and go almost an entire month without charging it.

Hi Hunter, thank you for your feedback and for trying the Emberton II. We are sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the Emberton II, do you think a bigger speaker would be better suited to your tastes? We encourage you to go into the store and try the different models, the Tufton or the Stanmore III may be what you are looking for!

Great sound. This is our second Marshall speaker. We have the much larger Woburn also in the cream leather. The aesthetic alone receives so many complements, but additionally the sound quality is great. It is balanced and can get louder than we have needed so far. Perfect for our office space.

No better sound and build quality out there!!!!!

After looking at every other small speaker in the store (regardless of price- Bose, Sony, JBL, etc.), I picked the Emberton II. Sound quality is INCREDIBLE. Sound is full-range and is reminiscent of the old Bose direct/reflecting sound from back in the day. Volume is sufficient for a medium-sized room. Build quality is the best out of all other brands I looked at, and there's a bit of heft to the speakers. Bluetooth link is solid and range is surprisingly good. I'm getting a second one to emulate my 901 setup (the Marshall app allows for different sound curves as well as multiple speakers). I don't regret this purchase in the least!

This is a surprising Bluetooth speaker. Build quality is excellent and I am pretty impressed with it but don't expect it to sound like the bigger bass heavy speakers out there. That being said, sound is fired out both the front and the back with the highs on one side and the lows on the other symmetrically. Pairing is effortless and is recognized right away. The sound is pretty darn good minus some lacking bass, but what do you expect in something this small. It holds it own and gets pretty loud. However, anything over 75% loud starts to create harshness in the highs and the lows disappear. The other downside is the Marshall app. It is needed to daisy chain up to 100 of these little guys and it has three preset EQ settings. While they sounded ok using them, I preferred to use the EQ on whatever streaming app I am using. I really like setting this speaker up where I can bounce the sound off a wall or something similar. It is a joy to listen to while doing chores or by the pool. But once outside, it can struggle to "fill" the area up with full sound. But, I use it indoors for the kitchen area or dining table. Works fantastic. I recommend this product as long as you know what the pros and cons are.

Let's talk about the MarshallEMBERTON II. I got to say this baby has a very unique and, I got to say, sexy design. It's a rugged black finish accent with brass buttons and wording. The case looks like genuine leather. Not to mention it's IP67 rated for waterproof, so you can use it at the beach without worrying about the sand or dirt making it fail. The battery lasts about 30 hours, but your jam so long you'll never run out of party power. And it can be plugged in and fully charged within 3 hours, so that's good. I was surprised at the bass response. Emberton II comes loaded with two full-range speakers and two passive radiators, but the stereo and the base quality are excellent on this one. They have a thing called stack mode, or you can place another speaker on top, and they play together. I've got to get another one so I can try this out because I can only imagine the sound getting even better with two of them going. The brass buttons on top add volume and track functionality, pressing p to stop and play your music. It is Bluetooth 5.1, so it works with almost all Bluetooth devices today. I'm a fan of Marshall, but I think this baby is making a name for itself. A definite winner!!!!!

The Marshall - Emberton II BT Portable Speaker - Black & Brass is such a small speaker that emits a massive audio performance which is pleasantly amazing for me. The only control knob has all functionality to enjoy my music using the Marshall - Emberton II BT Portable Speaker - Black & Brass. To pair, I pressed and held the Bluetooth button until the device showed up on my screen and tapped Emberton II. After pairing, I received a pop up advertising the Marshall Bluetooth app which allowed me the ability to fine tune the sound output more the my desired specifications. I have the command of three EQ presets: Marshall for fine tuning, Push for boosted bass and treble, and voice for enhanced midrange to produce clarity of vocals. The Stack mode can also be controlled within the Marshall Bluetooth app. Battery strength is shown underneath the Marshall - Emberton II picture on the homepage. The Marshall - Emberton II is small enough to carry outside and enjoy your music with a big sound. I will be taking my Marshall - Emberton II outside on the regular to enjoy my music.

The Marshall Emberton II BT Portable Speaker is phenomenal. This little speaker packed quite the punch. Once opening the box, I connected the speaker to a charger and let it charge, while it was charging I connected it to my phone, pairing with my phone was super easy to do. I then began to play music on the speaker. I was very surprised at the sound quality that such a little speaker could put out. The speaker has a neat feature in which it can be paired with another speaker of the same kind to make a surround sound style audio experience. The speaker is small, about the size of my hand, which makes it very portable and it's easy to find a place to put it to where you can hear your music no matter where you're at. From setting on a shelf in the bathroom to setting it on the console of your truck it's a phenomenal speaker and I'm very impressed with the loudness as well. I can hear the speak very well throughout a 2000 SQFT plus house. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a bluetooth speaker.

    Great speaker. Terrible Connectivity.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It pains me to give it 3 stars because I love everything about these speakers besides the connectivity issues. The sound is phenomenal and imo way richer than the competitions. The look is stylish and the exterior, even though I bought the cream color and use it outdoors frequently, stays clean and nice looking. The battery life is also pretty good, with a charge lasting a full day or two of use. The reason I docked it 2 stars is because the connectivity issues are infuriating. It drops connection over the smallest things, such as switching apps, and makes it so I have to restart the speaker or it wont connect right (it keeps trying to connect to the speaker but instead just instantly drops the connection and keeps pausing whatever you are watching/listening too). Idk if this is a patch they need to work out or what but it's making me reconsider buying more on the future, despite the upsides.

I wanted a portable, bluetooth speaker that I could use when we travel. I tried the usual brands first; Ultimate Ears, Sony, Bose and Sonos. Each sounded average at best. After I returned the Sonos Roam after a very frustrating music test, I decided to list to the Marshall Emberton II....in the store, this speaker sounded phenomenal! I decided to take it home and put it through the paces...lots of music genres...from classical to hard rap, it performed like a champ every time! I would strongly recommend listening to this speaker before you make your final purchase.
