Incredible Sound - Portable and Long Battery Life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Marshall has done it again…. What an incredible sound from a portable speaker. Simple and quick to set up and the sound is amazing. Right out of the box it was fully charged. Pressing the power button I was greeted with a nice chord and the red lights on top indicate how much charge is left. I downloaded the Marshall app and was able to quickly add my speaker. The app is fine, not too many options, basically you will use it to change the EQ settings and check the power level but the red lights on the unit also visually show you how much charge is left. Which I really like, the visual reminder of how much charge is remaining. Next I opened the bluetooth settings on my iphone 13 pro max and instantly it located the speaker and I was connected. SO basically within a couple of minutes of opening the box I had the app installed and connected to the speaker and my phone connected and was playing music. The buttons on top are perfectly placed. Using the gold button on top is easy to adjust the volume or advance the song. The sound comes from both the front and back of the peaker providing an immersive 360 degree sound. I have been using it for several hours each day and still have not had to re charge it. It is rated at 32+ hours of play time….. Incredible. It is rated for dust and waterproof so I have no concerns about taking it on the road or poolside or to my sons baseball games. Who doesn't like a nice rich walk up song. Bonus this also has a built in microphone so when that call comes in and your listening to music it is easy to accept the call and just talk through the speaker. Incredible easy to use and amazing sound.

Classic Marshall design and sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily out of the box, the Marshall - Emberton speaker sets itself apart with its classic Marshall styling. It has a miniature retro Marshall amp/floor monitor vibe with the box styling and gold script writing and control button. The black fence mesh grills on front and back are wrapped with a soft but durable feeling rubber trim. The speaker has a good hefty feel for the small size and will definitely stay in place wherever you sit it down to enjoy so good vibes. It comes with a simplistic design factor of using a single usb-c power input, multi directional rocker control button for power, skip, and volume, a Bluetooth connect button, and a very helpful and visible battery level led scale on top. I was expecting a good classic sound from this speaker when powered up and I was introduced with a “guitar hero” chord entry on power up and outro on power down. Very simple aesthetic but I really enjoyed this subtle touch. Now the sound continued from here and I was disappointed when connected to my phone. I was surprised at the powerful sounds produced from this somewhat small form factor speaker. I pushed the volume to the max on several different genres of music and the speaker held its own. There was dynamic vocals and a good spectrum of bass. There was little to no distortion in the sound produced at high volumes and the sound carried throughout the room. I then took the speaker poolside and was able to enjoy clear sound while enjoying the pool. This speaker is designated as water resistant but I didn’t want to test that too much even though it has a durable feel with the rubber surround and very well protected mesh grills. I really appreciate the led battery indicator so you have a feel for when its time to plug the speaker into power source. However, I used this speaker for hours at high volumes and only used three of the ten bars of battery. Overall, I am very pleased with this speaker and will carry it with me whenever I can as it is small enough to be portable without being cumbersome and powerful enough to enjoy anywhere.

Great portable Speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Emberton III comes in a well packaged box with instructions plus an app to download. It connected to my phones Bluetooth easily and immediately started playing good sounding music. I connected it to my Satellite radio app and it sounded good on a variety of stations and music types. It is dust and waterproof and can easily be carried from room to room or to the garage if you are working on projects. It holds 30 some hours on a single charge and charges with a USB-C. It will be ideal to take along on the boat or out into the yard when having dinner parties or doing yard work. The case is around 6x3x3 inches so it is nice size the delivers quality sound. Grilles at the front and rear essentially means that the audio is multidirectional so it really fills the room with great sound. It can also be used as a speaker for your cell phone. This is really a sweet little portable speaker. The one thing that could improve this would be to have a carrying strap like some other Bluetooth Speakers but not a deal breaker since it is quite light to carry.

Big Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Emberton 3 is a stylish mini boom box with the Marshall name across the front, status lights on top with buttons for power and navigation. There is a multi function button that allows volume and track skip or backward- a defintely nice touch. It is a solid device with some weight to it and definitely substantial. It has a connection for a wrist strap, and a USB C charging port on the side. Pairing was very easy and there is an app for sound control and setup. The sound is loud, a bit on the bass positive side but with very full and robust sound. It was surprising how loud and robust the sound was, even outside on the patio on a fairly loud day. I've used other bluetooth boom boxes, but this one had a lot of volume and sounds like it was coming from a much bigger unit. The standard simplistic styling was also nice. Battery life was excellent. It was still going after 6 hours with no end in sight. I really like this mini boom box. I do wish it was not as bassy ( I did try adjusting the sound from the app), but it wasn't bad. I prefer more mid range sound.

Little speaker, big sound.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Little speaker, big sound. Out of every small bluetooth speaker I have owned or used, this is the one that has impressed me the most. First off the classic guitar amp styling and rubberized exterior looks and feels great. Using it in a shop environment, the speakers durability was put to the test! This speaker is very durable as it survived many falls including one that was nearly a 6ft drop off of a liftarm. The one thing I wish this speaker had was some way to hang or fasen it to something (such as a magnet or hook even). The top center controls are simple to use with the touch of the finger. It has an easy to read battery life indicator. Having speakers on both side makes for a 360 degree listening area. Outstanding sound quality in any area I've put it in; from my noisy automotive shop to the back yard patio. It offers deep bass and clear midrange and highs. I feel this speaker is not only louder, but boasts more crisp, clear vocals in comparison to even "higher end" speakers we own of similar configuration. This is the one area where most all bluetooth speakers of this size fall short. Marshall did not disappoint on the audio quality. No matter the type of music you listen to, you wont be disappointed. I do however feel they did fall short on the EQ functionality in the Marshall app. With only having 3 preset EQ settings makes it difficult to fine tune for optimal user preference. In my opinion, the app is nearly useless. This speaker has a decent battery life, so far at full volume I have gotten 16+ hours of continuous play time. This speaker seems to charge more rapidly than others we own as well.

Big sound in a small package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This new Marshall Emberton III carries on the Marshall tradition in both appearance and sound. The speaker looks like the Marshall amps of old with the mesh grill on the front and back and Marshall script on the front of the speaker. As for sound it’s amazing how much great sound they can get out of this small of a speaker. Marshall has added some new features to the Emberton III over the previous generation Emberton. The speaker now comes with a dedicated power button located below the Bluetooth button, so you don’t have to press and hold the brass center button the turn on the speaker. They have also added a microphone for taking calls which is a great added feature and works great. Although not required to use the speaker there is the Marshall app that allows you to EQ the speaker. Although very limited it offers 3 preset settings for Marshall sound, push (boosted bass and treble) and voice (boosted midrange). For music I am using the Marshall sound as the other options make music sound too thin. There is also a battery preservation option to help prolong the life of the battery. I am using this in Max mode which limits the amount of charge the battery will receive. The app also shows the status of the battery level. The speaker has a battery level indicator on top of the speaker as well. The battery life has been outstanding. I have been using the speaker for several days several hours a day and still have 64% battery left. Like the Marshall Middleton that I also own the Emberton has speakers on both sides of the enclosure which gives you a more open and detailed listening experience. I have several other more expensive Bluetooth speakers that only have speakers in the front that don’t sound as good as the Emberton thanks to the 2-sided speaker configuration. The Emberton III is lightweight at around 1.5lbs and is the same size width and height wise as my cell phone which makes moving it around easy and convenient. I wanted something smaller than the Middleton without sacrificing sound quality and the Emberton did not disappoint. This speaker sounds great and can certainly get loud if needed. It connected to my phone and Bluetooth turntable easily and once connected it will reconnect the next time you use the device. Two things that were a bit of a disappointment. Marshall opted to use Bluetooth LE (low energy) protocol in this speaker which at this point is not widely adopted and as a result removed the stack feature that came in several of their previous speakers. As a result, the Emberton cannot be paired with other Marshall speakers such as the Middleton. At this point it is not clear that multiple Emberton’s can even be paired. Hopefully Marshall will provide a firmware update that will correct this issue. The other lesser issue is the Emberton has a place to connect a carrying strap although Marshall does not include a strap or offer one as an accessory. This is a little surprising considering the cost of the speaker. Luckily, I found a 3rd party case with a built-in handle that works great and solves the problem. Overall, this is a great looking and great sounding speaker for the price. I think anyone looking for a high-quality great sounding speaker in this price range should definitely consider listening to the Marshall Emberton III, You will not be disappointed.

Portable and powerful!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Emberton II Bluetooth speaker is a little gem of a speaker. It's my first Marshall product I've owned but Ive been relatively familiar with the Brand, and its well-known expertise in the music world. They've done a nice job continuing that with this consumer bluetooth speaker. The speaker's design speaks directly to the brand's heritage. It looks like a mini amp with a grilled front and back and a leatherette covering wraps the rest of the unit. The Marshall logo on the front grill and the single, multi-function button of this speaker are clad in brass which feels classical. I'm not a huge fan of gold plating on anything but I'll give them one this since it feels quite nostalgic. It's a compact speaker measuring 6.25" w x 2.5" h x 3" deep. As I mentioned, It's wrapped in a soft touch vinyl that is pebbled to look like leather. It has one, omni-directional button on top that is used for: play, pause, volume up & down, and next & previous track. Also on the top, you'll find a subtle button for pairing and then a red LED light bar that shows the battery level status. I really like only having to use a single button to control the majority of this speaker's functions. It has a 30 hour battery, it's IP67 rated for water and dust (which is great!) and it's apparently partially made from recycled materials – that's a huge plus. It is slightly customizable via the downloadable Marshall app. Once I connected it, via bluetooth 5.1, I had the opportunity to select from 3 preset equalizer options. One that heroes more bass, one that emphasizes more treble and then the "Marshall" tuned option that they feel is the best of both. I agree that the latter sounds the best. In the app, you also have the option to link two Marshall speakers together, called "stack mode." I've seen this option with several bluetooth speaker manufacturers and I think it's a great option if you own more than one Marshall portable speaker. That is really all the app offers and I really wish there were more options for customization, like a user-defined equalizer option. It's a pretty stark app but maybe they'll add more features in future updates. Sound quality is great. It packs quite a punch for being so small. But, since it has a horizontal footprint it doesn't seem to have that 360 degree sound that many other vertical speakers have. I am not complaining but just wanted to let people know. I played different genres of music and it sounded good for each. I especially liked it with classical music. Overall, it's a very competent little speaker and I look forward to using it by the pool, at the lake and in the park this summer and beyond.

Powerful dynamo speaker emitting a powerful sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Emberton III Portable Bluetooth Speaker is such a small speaker that emits a massive audio performance which is pleasantly amazing for me. The only control knob has all functionality to enjoy my music using the Marshall Emberton III Portable Bluetooth Speaker. To pair, I pressed and held the Bluetooth button until the device showed up on my screen and tapped Emberton III. After pairing, I received a pop up advertising the Marshall Bluetooth app which allowed me the ability to fine tune the sound output more the my desired specifications. I have the command of three EQ presets: Marshall for fine tuning, Push for boosted bass and treble, and voice for enhanced midrange to produce clarity of vocals.. Battery strength is shown underneath the Marshall - Emberton II picture on the homepage. Once battery preservation is opened, I can control the maximum charge allowed, temperature and charging speed. The battery is prolonged and protected with those functions, increasing the longevity of the Marshall III. The Marshall - Emberton III is small enough to carry outside and enjoy your music with a big sound. I will be taking my Marshall - Emberton III outside on the regular to enjoy my music.
