Open-Box Speaker Rated "Excellent" Won't Charge
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dead on arrival. Open-Box but no one checked to make sure it would charge. When I returned it, there were no more Open-Box and the price went up from $99 to $170. Manage on duty said that Open-Box items are "hit and miss". So much for "excellent rating". Bought used on Amazon and it works great!

Little speaker, big sound.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Little speaker, big sound. Out of every small bluetooth speaker I have owned or used, this is the one that has impressed me the most. First off the classic guitar amp styling and rubberized exterior looks and feels great. Using it in a shop environment, the speakers durability was put to the test! This speaker is very durable as it survived many falls including one that was nearly a 6ft drop off of a liftarm. The one thing I wish this speaker had was some way to hang or fasen it to something (such as a magnet or hook even). The top center controls are simple to use with the touch of the finger. It has an easy to read battery life indicator. Having speakers on both side makes for a 360 degree listening area. Outstanding sound quality in any area I've put it in; from my noisy automotive shop to the back yard patio. It offers deep bass and clear midrange and highs. I feel this speaker is not only louder, but boasts more crisp, clear vocals in comparison to even "higher end" speakers we own of similar configuration. This is the one area where most all bluetooth speakers of this size fall short. Marshall did not disappoint on the audio quality. No matter the type of music you listen to, you wont be disappointed. I do however feel they did fall short on the EQ functionality in the Marshall app. With only having 3 preset EQ settings makes it difficult to fine tune for optimal user preference. In my opinion, the app is nearly useless. This speaker has a decent battery life, so far at full volume I have gotten 16+ hours of continuous play time. This speaker seems to charge more rapidly than others we own as well.

Big sound in a small package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This new Marshall Emberton III carries on the Marshall tradition in both appearance and sound. The speaker looks like the Marshall amps of old with the mesh grill on the front and back and Marshall script on the front of the speaker. As for sound it’s amazing how much great sound they can get out of this small of a speaker. Marshall has added some new features to the Emberton III over the previous generation Emberton. The speaker now comes with a dedicated power button located below the Bluetooth button, so you don’t have to press and hold the brass center button the turn on the speaker. They have also added a microphone for taking calls which is a great added feature and works great. Although not required to use the speaker there is the Marshall app that allows you to EQ the speaker. Although very limited it offers 3 preset settings for Marshall sound, push (boosted bass and treble) and voice (boosted midrange). For music I am using the Marshall sound as the other options make music sound too thin. There is also a battery preservation option to help prolong the life of the battery. I am using this in Max mode which limits the amount of charge the battery will receive. The app also shows the status of the battery level. The speaker has a battery level indicator on top of the speaker as well. The battery life has been outstanding. I have been using the speaker for several days several hours a day and still have 64% battery left. Like the Marshall Middleton that I also own the Emberton has speakers on both sides of the enclosure which gives you a more open and detailed listening experience. I have several other more expensive Bluetooth speakers that only have speakers in the front that don’t sound as good as the Emberton thanks to the 2-sided speaker configuration. The Emberton III is lightweight at around 1.5lbs and is the same size width and height wise as my cell phone which makes moving it around easy and convenient. I wanted something smaller than the Middleton without sacrificing sound quality and the Emberton did not disappoint. This speaker sounds great and can certainly get loud if needed. It connected to my phone and Bluetooth turntable easily and once connected it will reconnect the next time you use the device. Two things that were a bit of a disappointment. Marshall opted to use Bluetooth LE (low energy) protocol in this speaker which at this point is not widely adopted and as a result removed the stack feature that came in several of their previous speakers. As a result, the Emberton cannot be paired with other Marshall speakers such as the Middleton. At this point it is not clear that multiple Emberton’s can even be paired. Hopefully Marshall will provide a firmware update that will correct this issue. The other lesser issue is the Emberton has a place to connect a carrying strap although Marshall does not include a strap or offer one as an accessory. This is a little surprising considering the cost of the speaker. Luckily, I found a 3rd party case with a built-in handle that works great and solves the problem. Overall, this is a great looking and great sounding speaker for the price. I think anyone looking for a high-quality great sounding speaker in this price range should definitely consider listening to the Marshall Emberton III, You will not be disappointed.

Sleek design - powerful sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Emberton III Portable Bluetooth Speaker impresses with its blend of vintage aesthetic, powerful sound, and modern features, making it an excellent choice for both audiophiles and casual listeners alike. Design: One of the standout features of the Emberton III is its iconic Marshall design, inspired by classic guitar amps. The textured vinyl exterior, brass accents, and the signature Marshall logo give it a timeless, rugged appeal. It’s both stylish and durable, with an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, meaning it’s built to withstand the elements. It’s relatively compact and light, making it easy to carry around. The front and back metal grilles offer protection while enhancing the speaker’s cool retro look. Sound Quality: Despite its small size, the Emberton III delivers an impressively full and balanced sound. Marshall’s True Stereophonic technology ensures a 360-degree listening experience, which means the sound doesn’t diminish when moving around. Bass is punchy without being overwhelming, and mids and highs are crisp, ensuring vocal clarity and instrumental details. Whether playing rock, pop, or classical music, this speaker maintains quality without distortion, even at higher volumes. Battery Life: The battery life is one of the highlights, offering up to 30 hours of playtime on a single charge, which is more than enough for extended outdoor use or weekend getaways. It also features quick charging capabilities—20 minutes of charging provides around 4 hours of playback, making it ideal for those who are always on the move. Connectivity: The Emberton III supports Bluetooth 5.1, providing a stable connection up to 30 feet away. Pairing with devices is fast and simple, and the speaker remembers previously connected devices for quick re-pairing. However, it lacks an aux input or other wired options, which could be a drawback for users who prefer that versatility. Drawbacks: While the speaker performs well in many areas, it does have a few minor limitations. The lack of a dedicated app for customization means you cannot adjust the EQ settings to suit your preferences, leaving you to rely on your device’s native controls. Additionally, while the 360-degree sound is impressive, it may not fill very large spaces as effectively as bigger speakers would. Verdict: The Marshall Emberton III combines excellent sound quality, long battery life, and durable design in a portable package. Its retro aesthetic will appeal to Marshall fans and design-conscious consumers alike, while its rich, immersive sound ensures it stands out among other portable Bluetooth speakers in its price range. If you’re looking for a speaker that balances style, performance, and portability, the Emberton III is a solid choice.

Love the Marshall line of Bluetooth speakers!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a fondness for Marshall speakers as we’ve been enjoying our Marshall Stanmore speaker for quite some time. It has stood the test of time in sound and looks as these speakers are built to last. This Emberton III has been no exception. Obviously, sound is of utmost importance when it comes to speaker quality, yet an equal draw for me was the aesthetics of the Marshall speaker line. They are just a cool vibe, retro look that takes one back to concerts and Marshall amps. I love the black and gold combination that is eye catching and designed for use. The Emberton III packs a lot of sound in a small package. I’m not a bit disappointed whether listening to Let Her Cry, Don’t Stop Believin’, Sweet Emotion, Riptide or lots of other songs that I tried out the Emberton III with. Bass tends to be the thing that I often find lacking in portable speakers and Marshall has gotten it right with this one. Dynamic Loudness adjusts the tonal balance as one changes the volume. The volume put out by a speaker that is 6” long is impressive. Battery life is noted as 32+ hours with a full charge achieved in two hours. One crazy feature of the Emberton III is an IP67 dust and waterproof rating. I’m not one to purposefully try this, but it can be submerged in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes so good protection for pool use perhaps. The speaker also has a bult-in microphone for hands-free talking which may come in handy for those using it in various places like their office or in the kitchen. The feel of this Bluetooth speaker is substantial and solid, yet with a weight of only 1.5 lbs. Portable enough to take along, but solid enough to stay situated on a solid surface. I like the feel of the center, gold dial to adjust volume or switch between songs. The battery level indicator is well lit and all other controls are intuitive to use. The Marshall Bluetooth app is available for free download and features three equalizer presets, a battery preservation option and over the air firmware updates. The Marshall speaker line hits all the winning marks for us and we’d recommend them highly. I’ve no doubt we will get as many years of enjoyment from the Emberton III as we have from our Stanmore speaker.

Bluetooth Speaker with Style
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Marshall Emberton III Portable Bluetooth Speaker for about a week, and I’m really impressed with it. First off, the design is super cool—classic Marshall style with that retro vibe. It looks great sitting on a desk or shelf, almost like a piece of décor that happens to play music. Its awesome just fits in my work space. What I Liked: The sound quality really stands out for me. For such a small speaker, it’s surprisingly loud and clear. I use it both in my home office and around the house, and it fills the room pretty well, even when I move it to different spots. I’ve noticed the bass is punchy, but not overwhelming, which is perfect for me since I listen to a lot of different music—everything from rock to podcasts. There is a loss of bass when I turn it all the way up. The 360-degree sound means it doesn't matter where I place it; the audio is always consistent. Another huge plus is the battery life. I can go days without charging it, and Marshall says it lasts over 30 hours, which feels about right based on my experience. I also like how fast it charges—if I forget to charge it overnight, a quick 20-minute charge gets me through most of my day. What Could Be Better: The only downside I’ve run into is the lack of a 3.5mm jack. I have some older devices I would’ve liked to plug in, but everything now is pretty much Bluetooth, so it's not a dealbreaker. Also, there’s no smart assistant integration. It’s not a feature I personally use much, but if you’re someone who loves controlling everything by voice, you might miss that. What I Had Issues With: I did have a slight issue with the Bluetooth range once or twice when moving around my home. It usually has a solid connection, but once I went into another room and the connection dropped briefly. That could be more about the layout of my place though. --- Overall, I’ve really enjoyed having this speaker around. It’s become my go-to for working in the office, cooking in the kitchen, or just hanging out. Perfect if you’re looking for something stylish and portable with great sound quality.

Portable and powerful!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Emberton II Bluetooth speaker is a little gem of a speaker. It's my first Marshall product I've owned but Ive been relatively familiar with the Brand, and its well-known expertise in the music world. They've done a nice job continuing that with this consumer bluetooth speaker. The speaker's design speaks directly to the brand's heritage. It looks like a mini amp with a grilled front and back and a leatherette covering wraps the rest of the unit. The Marshall logo on the front grill and the single, multi-function button of this speaker are clad in brass which feels classical. I'm not a huge fan of gold plating on anything but I'll give them one this since it feels quite nostalgic. It's a compact speaker measuring 6.25" w x 2.5" h x 3" deep. As I mentioned, It's wrapped in a soft touch vinyl that is pebbled to look like leather. It has one, omni-directional button on top that is used for: play, pause, volume up & down, and next & previous track. Also on the top, you'll find a subtle button for pairing and then a red LED light bar that shows the battery level status. I really like only having to use a single button to control the majority of this speaker's functions. It has a 30 hour battery, it's IP67 rated for water and dust (which is great!) and it's apparently partially made from recycled materials – that's a huge plus. It is slightly customizable via the downloadable Marshall app. Once I connected it, via bluetooth 5.1, I had the opportunity to select from 3 preset equalizer options. One that heroes more bass, one that emphasizes more treble and then the "Marshall" tuned option that they feel is the best of both. I agree that the latter sounds the best. In the app, you also have the option to link two Marshall speakers together, called "stack mode." I've seen this option with several bluetooth speaker manufacturers and I think it's a great option if you own more than one Marshall portable speaker. That is really all the app offers and I really wish there were more options for customization, like a user-defined equalizer option. It's a pretty stark app but maybe they'll add more features in future updates. Sound quality is great. It packs quite a punch for being so small. But, since it has a horizontal footprint it doesn't seem to have that 360 degree sound that many other vertical speakers have. I am not complaining but just wanted to let people know. I played different genres of music and it sounded good for each. I especially liked it with classical music. Overall, it's a very competent little speaker and I look forward to using it by the pool, at the lake and in the park this summer and beyond.

Incredible Sound - Portable and Long Battery Life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Marshall has done it again…. What an incredible sound from a portable speaker. Simple and quick to set up and the sound is amazing. Right out of the box it was fully charged. Pressing the power button I was greeted with a nice chord and the red lights on top indicate how much charge is left. I downloaded the Marshall app and was able to quickly add my speaker. The app is fine, not too many options, basically you will use it to change the EQ settings and check the power level but the red lights on the unit also visually show you how much charge is left. Which I really like, the visual reminder of how much charge is remaining. Next I opened the bluetooth settings on my iphone 13 pro max and instantly it located the speaker and I was connected. SO basically within a couple of minutes of opening the box I had the app installed and connected to the speaker and my phone connected and was playing music. The buttons on top are perfectly placed. Using the gold button on top is easy to adjust the volume or advance the song. The sound comes from both the front and back of the peaker providing an immersive 360 degree sound. I have been using it for several hours each day and still have not had to re charge it. It is rated at 32+ hours of play time….. Incredible. It is rated for dust and waterproof so I have no concerns about taking it on the road or poolside or to my sons baseball games. Who doesn't like a nice rich walk up song. Bonus this also has a built in microphone so when that call comes in and your listening to music it is easy to accept the call and just talk through the speaker. Incredible easy to use and amazing sound.

Powerful dynamo speaker emitting a powerful sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Emberton III Portable Bluetooth Speaker is such a small speaker that emits a massive audio performance which is pleasantly amazing for me. The only control knob has all functionality to enjoy my music using the Marshall Emberton III Portable Bluetooth Speaker. To pair, I pressed and held the Bluetooth button until the device showed up on my screen and tapped Emberton III. After pairing, I received a pop up advertising the Marshall Bluetooth app which allowed me the ability to fine tune the sound output more the my desired specifications. I have the command of three EQ presets: Marshall for fine tuning, Push for boosted bass and treble, and voice for enhanced midrange to produce clarity of vocals.. Battery strength is shown underneath the Marshall - Emberton II picture on the homepage. Once battery preservation is opened, I can control the maximum charge allowed, temperature and charging speed. The battery is prolonged and protected with those functions, increasing the longevity of the Marshall III. The Marshall - Emberton III is small enough to carry outside and enjoy your music with a big sound. I will be taking my Marshall - Emberton III outside on the regular to enjoy my music.

Do Not Buy!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the speaker in December and noticed that the speaker drains battery when off. From full charge to dead within a few weeks even when not in use. Went through all the recommended troubleshooting and now, after all that, Marshall is demanding I send the unit back to be examined. If they find no problem according to them, I need to pay to have my speaker returned. I have never experienced such poor customer service. Any other company would have shipped a replacement pronto. I had a minor issue with JBL headphones a few years back and they replaced almost by overnight mail. Do not buy!

Posted .Hi David, thank you for your review and feedback. All Marshall products have a 12-month warranty to cover manufacturing defects. As your speaker is within the warranty period, it needs to be collected to the Service Centre for an evaluation and repairs. Repairs are completed by trained product technicians and with brand new manufacturer's parts. Rarely is a customer required to pay for the return shipment, even if no defect is found. We have worked through troubleshooting with you and agree that it sounds like a defect has occurred; it doesn't sound like there is reason to be concerned about no defect being found. We hope to soon receive the speaker and have it back to original working condition so that you can continue to enjoy the Emberton II. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience of this.
