I’ve owned 2 different JBL speakers at the same price point, both aren’t capable of producing the high level of sound that this Marshall does. I especially love connecting 2 units at the same time. Almost creates stereo. But honestly, a single unit tricks the ear into hearing stereo with its bidirectional sound qualities. I highly recommend this unit for many reasons including build quality, sound quality, appearance. I love that it has the correct level of bass-not overwhelming. The mids and highs are quality and the speaker doesn’t distort! Maybe the next purchase from Best Buy ever!

I use them outside while doing yard work, and the sound quality is excellent. The max volume is perfect—loud enough to enjoy my music, but not so loud that it disturbs the neighbors.

Good bass, but not overpowering! This is my second one, and on sale ($50) off! Couldn't pass up this deal!! We use them instead of the TV speakers, what a difference they make. Also great for music. There is an app, with an equalizer, to use when using your phone. Give one a try, you won't be disappointed...

Cons huge lag when watching videos. Not great bass. Would I recommend it? Perhaps if you only need it for playing music or podcasts yes is a good speaker

Posted .Hello, thank you for your review and feedback. The Emberton II is a small speaker with an SPL rating of 87 dB SPL @ 1 m. If you are looking for more bass, we suggest considering the Kilburn III or the Middleton II. Audio lag is common when using Bluetooth speakers with a TV: it takes longer for the audio signal to reach the speaker and be output than it does the video output on your TV. If you are looking for a speaker to use with your TV, we suggest getting one that offers a wired connection.

The only complaint we have is the outer material is a gun texture and attracts lint and hair. The sound is perfect though and it has a nice aesthetic.

I also had excellent help from a Best Buy sales associate. Marshall has always had a brand name world renowned to musicians and audiophiles alike. The EMBERTON III surprises me almost every time I use it, just like my Marshall ACTON II does at home without fail EVERYDAY. The EMBERTON III, is miles ahead of it’s competitors at the same size of speaker.
