The Marshall Emberton III Speaker = AWESOME!!

Was so pleased to receive the Emberton III Bluetooth speaker. It's really well made ~ something you'll notice right away and came with a Quick Start Guide booklet. I had no trouble connecting it to my iPhone or iMac, unlike some other Bluetooth speakers I've tried. I already had the Marshall app on my phone so it paired up and in the app you'll find EQ PRESETS with the first one being that Signature Marshall sound ~ second is PUSH which boosts the bass and treble for a heavier sound and third is VOICE which enhances the midrange for more clarity if you're listening to voice-focused content. Next on the app is BATTERY PRESERVATION with MAX CHARGE, TEMPERATURE and CHARGING SPEED. I placed my speaker on MAX which limits the charge to 95% and prolongs the battery lifespan. Finally there is ABOUT which tells you the product name, serial number, firmware version and Forget Device option. My firmware was already up to date. Also the app tells you how much battery life is left showing the percentage under Emberton. I have been testing this speaker quite a bit listening to various kinds of music and taking phone calls. Everything sounds wonderful and voices are very clear. I found I like the first setting on the app which is the Signature Marshall sound. I fully charged it before the first use and after 3 days it's still at a 68% charge. I carry it around with me because it's so portable weighing in at 1 lb. 7.7 oz and measures about 6" long x 3" deep x 2.5" high. The black finish is so cool ~ no worries about it slipping out of your hands. On top you'll find a Bluetooth button, power button and in the center a gold Control Knob which is so easy to use. 1. Play/Pause push once 2. Skip Backward/Forward push left/right. 3. Turn up the Volume push up or down. 4. Receive a call push once and 5. Reject a call push twice. There is also a small microphone hole to left of the Control Knob. The colorful, vertical 10 segment battery indicator shows the charge. The USB-C charge power input is on the right side and there is a place to thread a carrying strap if you so choose to although one is not provided. They did include a charging cable. I can't say enough about the black finish with that gold MARSHALL in script on the front. BEAUTIFUL!! CLASSIC!! That grill, which is on the front and rear, looks amazing. This model also offers stereophonic sound. If you are in the market for a superb portable Bluetooth speaker look no further! The price is reasonable and it's very high quality. It sounds just as good as it looks and I love it! Definitely worth a purchase!

Iconic sound with a build made to last

The Emberton III is a portable speaker that is the shape of a brick and almost feels like one with it’s solid built quality. The Emberton can easily fill a small room with sound without it sounding tinny or distorted even at its highest volume. The Stereophonic sound from the Emberton III gives you a 360 sound so your listening experience is the same no matter where you are standing (in front, behind or to the side of the speaker). Stereophonic sound is perfect as portable speakers are always being used in different locations. The Marshall app allows you to adjust the equalizer to 3 different sounds (Marshall, Push and Voice) but you can’t tweak the EQ individually. The Marshall sound setting is perfect for my listening experience as it has great low end bass with perfect mids and highs, I did notice that for older music the voice setting works best. The Emberton III has some of best sound of any portable speaker along with a clean look that includes two buttons for power and Bluetooth and a rotary knob which works as a multifunction button to skip songs and higher/lower music. The addition of the Bluetooth button is perfect as most power/Bluetooth combo buttons are horrible to use and never work correctly. The Emberton is also dust/waterproof which makes it excellent to take anywhere with you. One of best features of the Emberton is that is has 32 hours of battery which is amazing, I used the speaker for 3 days 7 hours each day and there was still 30 percent battery remaining. Marshall has also included battery protection in the app by limiting the battery charge and slowing down the charging speed if it senses the batteries are getting hot. I only have 2 small issues with the Emberton III one is that the mic for phone calls is not the best but that is not really a big negative as I don’t see why anyone would be using this to make/receive phone calls. Secondly the app take about 15 seconds to start, none of these are deal breakers though. The Emberton III is a great portable speaker with the classic punchy sound that Marshall has been known for over a decade. The build quality is excellent and the Stereophonic sound makes this speaker stand out from other portable speakers. The Emberton III is future proofed with Bluetooth LE audio so you can add other speakers and play the same music at the same time. I currently don’t have any speakers to attach with the Emberton III but that will be changing shortly.

Portable speaker with that classic Marshall sound!

I find with bluetooth speakers generally that it comes down to a compromise - sometimes they are small and portable but done really hit the mark when it comes to audio, or they sound great but are pushing the limits of 'portability', This is also probably why if you own multiple bluetooth speakers that you are still looking for that perfect balance - or like me don't one any because you're picky about audio quality and don't want to compromise. The Marshall Emberton III is one of those rare products that won me over in the first couple of minutes without any bells and whistles or clever features - simply that it just sounds awesome without really doing anything. Out of the box, you hold the bluetooth button on the top to enter pairing mode - select it on your source device, and well - that's it. Straight away the audio sound is well balanced, but still has that signature Marshall 'oomphff' to it - no need to change anything. I'll be honest it was probably 30 mins before I even realized that there is an app for managing the speaker which enables you to modify some advanced features (firmware updates, 3 different styles of EQ , and optimizing the battery life - apparently to get 32+hours or playtime but I haven't had time to push that limit yet). The speaker also has a built in microphone so you can use it for conference calls but I can only see that getting limited use unless you reguarly manage group calls. Physically the speaker has that classic Marshall styling , but is robust and solid to the touch. There is simple navigation on the top for fwd/back/volume etc and the standard bluetooth and power buttons. My only minor comment would be that I would like a line-in option on these smaller speakers, but in this case I know there is a larger Marshall speaker in this range that provides it (and now I think about it all of my mobile devices need a dongle to do 3.5mm outputs anyway) In summary, if you are looking for a single go-to bluetooth speaker, the Marshall Emberton III is the probably the best you're going to find. Amazing sound out of the box, extended battery life and good balance of sound quality and portability.

    This little speaker BUMPS!

Just picked up the Marshall - Emberton II and this thing BUMPS! I am so impressed with this little speaker from the build quality to the sound quality. There really isn’t anything I don’t like about his speaker, it’s amazing. First, the build quality of this speaker is incredible. It truly looks like and feels like a real Marshall amplifier. I love the matte black metal grille, with the black speaker mesh behind it. The rubberized texture of the leather-looking top, bottom, and sides of the speaker feels so good in the hands and stays put when placing the speaker on a hard surface. The brass button on top matches the matte black perfectly, what a genius color combo here! Other than the looks, I have to say again this thing’s build quality is ridiculous. There are zero loose parts, no rattles, it's solid. The simplicity of this speaker is great. There are only 2 buttons, one is more of a toggle. One button turns Bluetooth on and pairs the device. The other button turns the speaker on and off (press button for 3 seconds) and has volume up/down and next track/reverse track. Pairing the speaker to my phone took 2 seconds, it was so easy. You will have t download the Marshall Headphones app to connect to your phone. That’s ok though because within the app you can fine-tune the speaker's sound with the EQ presets, go into “stack mode”, speaker/app updates, and explore more about Marshall Headphones right in the app. Stack mode is cool. If you have another Emberton 2 speaker or similar, you can “stack” the speakers and connect them for a louder sound, or even surround sound. The app is easy to navigate and is very intuitive. The speaker’s sound is amazing. This thing encapsulates you with music. It’s crazy how they can create a little handheld speaker that can hit the full range of highs to lows. The music and vocal audios are tight and crispy. The mids hit everything, and the lows are mind-blowing for the size of this tiny speaker. The speakers sound like they should be way bigger. I didn’t have any issues with the range of this speaker. I could see the audio fading in a large open area like a field, but if you are nearby on the beach, or if this speaker is played indoors, it bumps and it sounds good. I am very impressed with the sound quality of this speaker. What comes in the box is right to the point. It comes with the speaker, a USB Type-C charging cable, and a safety/user manual. The Emberton 2 now comes with a lot more features other than great sound. This speaker is a sealed portable speaker with two passive radiators, Stack Mode, 30+ hours of playtime, an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, Bluetooth 5.1, it is made of 50% recycled plastic, its professionally tuned by Marshall, all in a package weighing in at 1.5lbs. I absolutely love this little speaker with an enormous sound, and I recommend it to anyone who loves to party, but also to anyone who wants to both hear and feel the music they are playing. This little speaker turned out to be crazy good. I am so happy I picked up this amazing portable speaker. Marshall knocked it out of the park with this one.

The Marshall Emberton III is beautifully styled to look like a Marshall amplifier, and delivers amazing sound with great range and clarity. It has ample battery with more than 30 hours of play time. At 10 watts it produces plenty of volume and can fill a good sized room with sound. It is very much like having a pair of wireless bookshelf speakers. There are three buttons on the top, one for power, one to initiate bluetooth pairing mode, and a multifunction button that allows you to adjust the volume up or down, to pause and resume play, and to move forward or back to the next or previous audio track. A set of red LEDs provides a clear visual indication of the current battery charge level. A USB-C port supports charging with the included USB-C cable. An AC power adapter is not included. The speaker feels very solidly made with a silicone exterior and metal grille, and comes with an IP67 dust and waterproof rating. The included smartphone app allows you to choose between several pre-configured audio EQ profiles, and between more agressive and less agressive charging options to extend battery lifetime. The speaker also includes a built-in microphone, so it can be used as a speaker phone when paired with a smartphone. In addition to looking like a Marshall amplifier, the cuteness factor is further enhanced by the crunchy guitar licks that it plays when powered on and off. This makes me grin every time I hear it. There is no denying the fact that this is not an inexpensive bluetooth speaker, but it is uniquely styled and delivers excellent audio performance with useful features. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is a fan of music, guitars and related gear, classic rock, and great audio. If you know someone like this, the Marshall Emberton III would make a treasured gift.

I did purchase it for $99 on sale, but it would still be worth the full price! I love the sound quality that it delivers and it is easy to tuck under my monitor or carry around. It does feel dense and a bit heavy, so be aware that it is not exactly the lightest product out there if you plan to take it around often. It looks even better in person and very easy to connect through bluetooth. I have used it for some time and have not needed to charge it yet, so it is great for long road trips or if you are running a booth for a while with no access to a power outlet. I previously owned a Killburn II and I must say that I would highly recommend this even more because it sounds fuller, takes up much less space, and is significantly cheaper.

Marshall Amp Look and conversation starter

The Marshall Emberton III is an attractive and portable bluetooth speaker that surprisingly sounds fantastic for all sorts of music. With the Marshall app, you can change the sound settings from a classic Marshall sound which I would describe as grungy and a Pushed sound which according to my ears sound fully and bright with deep bass. The exterior of the speaker is this rubber faux leather feeling materials which acts as a bumper but looks just like a Marshall amplifier. The speaker is the size of a large energy drink but packs quite a bit of volume. Turn the speaker up and it gets loud but retains its clarity. The speaker is charged using USB-C which is commonplace today. There is a very large red stack of bars that clearly shows you how much battery life is left in the speaker. I have used this for a week playing YouTube and Spotify and I have only used half the battery, which tells me this speaker will last a long time. A nice touch of this Marshall Emberton III speaker is the tones it plays when you turn it on and off. A guitar riff is played in a happy tone when you turn it on and a sad guitar riff when you turn it off. In all honesty, the appearance of looking like a Marshall amp is what sells this thing. It does not look like a generic Bluetooth speaker and if you are guitar player or likes guitar, its really hard not to have this in your room jamming out to your favorite tunes. To boast, the sound is great too and last a long time on a charge and you won’t be disappointed.

While I was tempted to purchase the Marshall Emberton III, as silly as this may sound, the Black and Silver color in addition to the fact the I didn’t need a microphone function through the speaker is why I opted to get the Emberton II. I also think that sound on the Emberton II is tab bit warmer. For reference I have an older Bose SoundLink Mini II with the microUSB connector. I have yet to find a bluetooth speaker the matches the warmth and depth of clarity on all frequencies similar to my Bose SoundLink Mini II including the newer Bose bluetooth speaker products. Here is why I think the Marshall Emberton II is a worthy comparison. 1. The functional and aesthetic design of the Emberton is simply unmatched by its competition, period. For me the waterproof functionality, the multifunction button, the molded outer casing of the speaker enclosure and the extended battery life of this speaker is what made selecting the Emberton as easy choice of over the competition. I didn’t want a speaker that was colored and designed in the shape of a UFO regardless of how well it may have produced sound. 2. My Bose SoundLink Mini II is my desktop computer speaker. The Emberton in all of excellent design execution is my portable speaker for travel and other on-the-go audio needs. 3. Sound quality: Both sound exceptional but are different. They both share a very warm and clear sound stage but I’d argue that the Bose has less of a digitally controlled sound than the Marshall. They both sound really really good but have different levels of warmth in the sound image. The best way I could describe it is in the difference in taste between dark and milk chocolate. I’d describe the Bose as having a sound image that is more like Milk Chocolate and the Marshall has a deep rich Dark Chocolate sound image. I listen to a lot of classical and opera music and there are time when I find the Marshall speaker simply better captures the live performance theatric of these genres of music. Conversely when I am listening to other genre’s of music including classic rock and roll, r&b, pop, easy listening, country, etc. I prefer the Bose. I don’t restrict my genre listing to one specific speaker. Rather a toggle my listening between both speakers. If you are a fan of the older version of the Bose SoundLink Mini II Bluetooth speaker and need another Bluetooth speaker, this is the speaker you want. I still mostly listen to my Bose SoundLink Mini II which i have had for a while now but this Marshall is worthy follow-up to everything I like about the SoundLink Mini II with a host of added functionality including the multifunction button, waterproofing, and extended battery life, as well a exceptional sound quality that makes it in my opinion ( assuming that the Bose SoundLink Mini II may not be available anymore ) the best current portable Bluetooth for the money. The Emberton II does not disappoint.

Pairing is easy with this compact speaker and the mobile app adds features like multiple speaker pairing. The sound is quite incredible when placed in an appropriate location and surface. The speaker is fairly rugged but not necessarily designed for rough outdoor use. No clip to attach but sits on any mostly flat surface. Gets very loud with no distortion at most volumes. Great rich sound with multiple listening modes and unique sound capabilities. Great value for a smaller speaker. Awesome awesome battery life with USB C charging.

Marshall speakers and headphones rarely disappoint. The Emberton III follows the heritage with plenty of crisp quality sound at volume levels 1 - 11. With 32 hours use on a charge, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, microphone for speaker phone calls and style that all their products carry with the embossed leather appearance and bronze accents. Emberton III is one of the Marshall products you want to hear and see. The hiccup for me is the app. Sound: The Emberton III is easy to recommend as it sounds good if not great. Solidly built, if a bit heavy for the size (battery?). Speakers firing on the front and back. Pretty good bass and treble for its size under the default sound profile. Just hope they update access to the equalizer in the app. Default "Marshall" sound is decent and fine for most music. My music taste would prefer to dial it in a bit more. That leads me to the app. App: Now for what is bugging me. While the quality and finish is top notch on the Emberton III. This time around, it is the app handicapping the speaker by only allowing users 3 audio choices for equalizer. "Marshall" sounds the best of the 3. "Push" which amps up the bass and treble, sounds muffled like the speaker is under a pillow. "Voice" might be good for podcasts or if you choose to use speaker as a soundbar or speakerphone with the included microphone, not quite for me. Maybe just 3 audio profiles will be enough for some. I have been spoiled by this exact same app that lets me use the equalizer for the Marshall Motif II earbuds, that are fantastic even after a year+ of audio and zero turn mower use. I do not know if they fear damage or if the app is not updated yet. Please Marshall, give access to the equalizer your other products already use in the same app. I also believe there is no way to pair this speaker to other Marshall speakers right now for a party mode or whatever Marshall might call it. Maybe this does not exist on the brand.

The Marshall Emberton II is a compact and stylish Bluetooth speaker that lives up to the brand’s iconic aesthetic while delivering solid performance. Its rugged design, complete with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, makes it perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. The sound quality is impressive for its size, offering clear vocals and a balanced profile, though it doesn’t produce deep low-bass, which is expected from a speaker of this size. One of the speaker’s key selling points is its advertised battery life of up to 30 hours. However, in real-world usage, the performance can vary depending on factors like volume level and audio content. While it might not consistently reach the full 30 hours, it reliably provides a solid 5 hours of playback, even at higher volumes. This makes it a dependable choice for shorter outings or casual listening sessions. The Emberton II also supports Bluetooth 5.1 for stable connectivity and introduces ‘Stack Mode,’ which lets you connect multiple speakers for a bigger soundstage. Its control knobs are intuitive and add a touch of nostalgia to the modern design. While it lacks features like a built-in microphone for calls or voice assistant support, the Marshall Emberton II makes up for it with its portability, durability, and signature Marshall sound. If you’re looking for a speaker that combines style and functionality with robust audio, this is a great pick. Just keep in mind that the battery life may not always meet its maximum claims, but it delivers enough juice for most use cases.

I Love Marshall gear. I already have the Stanmore and the Acton, both of which I absolutely love for both their sound and their style, and now I have the awesome little Emberton II! I've owned several portable BT speakers over the last few years and while many were anywhere from OK to Good, the Emberton is the first where I thought, this sounds GREAT! Upon receiving the box, I was struck by just how small this thing is! Upon opening the box, I found the Emberton in all it's stylish glory along with a USB-C charging cable (which I promptly put back since I have a ton of them already around the house - yay bring on universal charging cables!). I plugged it in and the battery indicator showed that it was at about 60/70% out of the box but I wanted to go from a full charge to properly test the battery life of this thing. Once everything was charged up, I turned it on, hit the pairing button, and paired it with my iPhone 12 Pro. Within seconds I was rocking out to my testing playlist and incredibly surprised at the range of this minuscule monster of music! Does it have the chest thumping bass of my Stanmore or even my Acton, no not quite, but it does put out a heck of a lot more than any other portable speaker I've owned. I was able to 'goose' this a bit more by placing the Emberton on my desk next to the wall so that the sound could bounce off of it and give in a bit more oomph. It worked like a charm. Oh, you can download the Marshall App for three different EQ preset modes, but the 'standard' Marshall Sound is the best out of the three by far, so I'd just stick with it. I have been listening to the Emberton II for over 10 hours now and the battery indicator just hit the 80%. I have no doubt that I will get well beyond 30 hours with this thing, which is absolutely fabulous for a speaker this size. The controls on the Emberton II are easy as pie with a simple pairing button and a central multi-function "knob" which is actually more of a really short thumb-stick. Long press to turn it on, quick press for play/pause, up/down for volume, right/left for skip/back & fast forward/rewind. Easy peasy. I am sorely tempted to get another one of couple of these Embertons to try out the 'Stack' mode. With a couple in a stack you could really pump out the tunes, and with a few spread around a party, you could fill the room with music without absolutely blasting those near the speaker. I am absolutely tickled pink with the Emberton II, and I think you will be too. Style and substance at a great price. If you are looking for a great portable speaker (or speaker system), you can't go wrong with Marshall, and Emberton II is just the latest in their line of outstanding speakers.

Big Sound from a Little Speaker

I grew up on the idea that bigger speakers are always better. This little waterproof (IP67) and dust resistant wonder is designed to challenge that idea. And of course, this handsome speaker looks like a classic Marshall guitar amp, but only smaller. A lot smaller. It has no problem at all filling a room with music, and the sound is balanced and natural. Plenty of bass, treble and midrange at an amazing volume without any noticeable strain. But this fantastic sound isn’t confined to one room- you take it with you wherever you go. To the beach, to the office, to the neighbors, and there is no need to hunt for any plug. On a full charge, you should get 32 hours of listening pleasure. I have been playing with it for only a couple of days, so I can’t fully substantiate that kind of life between charges, but I have no reason to doubt it. The LED row on the top of the device always tells you how much charge you have left, and after my initial listening sessions, it has barely moved. I love the look and feel of this device as well. It will never slip out of your hand. Its rubber surface grabs and holds on. The big gold button in the center controls playback, such as start stop and pause, next or previous track as well as volume. The on/off and Bluetooth pairing buttons are smaller and the same color as the case, but you can feel them as you run you finger over the case. They are not lighted but are easy to find in the dark with touch. Of course, there is a blue LED that blinks when the device is in pairing mode and goes off when pairing is complete. The unit comes with a USB-C to USB-C charging cord. No charger is provided. There is also a hardened cutout on the side for attaching a carrying strap, which is not provided. Marshall supplies a color multipage quick start guide. I pressed the on button and immediately heard the Marshall startup sound. The Bluetooth LED was already blinking, and I hunted for the speaker on my iPhone and paired with it immediately. When I did that, a window opened on my phone and invited me to install the Marshall App which I accomplished in just a few seconds. Even though I plugged the Marshall into a USB charger for a few minutes, nine of the ten LEDs were already illuminated out of the box. The sound is superb and spacious because it is radiating from both the front and the back of the device, offering both direct and reflected sound. While the Emberton III has two drivers, it did not produce the type of stereo imaging that I would expect to hear listening to left and right stereo speakers placed several feet apart. Who would expect such from such a small device? I got full musical enjoyment from what I heard. Highly recommended.

***There are probably better sounding speakers at this price range, but none will feel or look as good. I was reluctant to pull the trigger on this purchase, but fortified with a $15 coupon and a cocktail, I ordered the Emberton II. I was skeptical because I felt like I was just buying it, maybe, for the looks, and yeah, I was. I use thisnspeaker primarily for listening to music and podcasts while showering, and to bring with me while traveling. It is just about the perfect size between packability and sound robustness. This thing feels solid, and looks really sharp. All my friends who have seen it love it, even those who were also jaded about the Marshall brand co-opted nature of the product. I am a klutz and have dropped this thing in the tub, wet and dry, and also on the tiled floor. No marks, no damage. It has a nice, wide soundstage and sounds robust. It doesn't feature the more rich (maybe exaggerated) bass that I tend to prefer, but it will rock out without distortion. Battery life is really great. I bought this in early April, have been using it about 40 minutes/week and after two months, the battery still shows half charge. Oh, the other cool thing is the battery meter. You get an always-on gauge with 10 bars. I dont know why I love that so much, probably because I hate having to drill down on my phone to check if my peripheral needs a juice up. If you are purely cost-driven, there are marginally better sounding speaker ls for the price, but I dont think any feel/look this good, especially with the robust battery life.

I recently bought a Marshall speaker from Best Buy, and I’m genuinely impressed with the overall quality. The sound is rich, loud, and well-balanced, with deep bass and clear vocals even at higher volumes. The build quality feels premium, and the classic Marshall design looks great in any room. Battery life is solid, and Bluetooth connectivity is quick and stable. It’s a bit pricey, but the performance and style definitely justify the cost.

I love this speaker. Im by no means an audiophile but the sound is clean and distinct. I love the style of the speaker and the color is awesome. the battery life is pretty good and its held up physically when im not particularly kind to it. overall I recommend for the casual listener.

What a cool retro look. Easy to connect to Bluetooth on iPhone. Great sound. I just love looking at it. Battery life is acceptable but I don’t typically travel with it so can’t really review the life. Range met my needs. Satisfied with purchase!

I picked up this speaker when it was 50% off, and I’m really happy with it. The build is solid, and it’s small enough to take anywhere, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. Setting it up was a breeze. Pairing it with my phone and computer took no time, and the connection has been really reliable. The sound is impressive for its size. The bass is deep but not overpowering, and the highs and mids are nice and clear. It’s great for both home use and small gatherings. Plus, the battery life is fantastic.

The Marshall Emberton II speaker packs a mighty punch. I already have very good speaker in the same price point and didn't expect to be so impressed with this one. The preset options allow for the full sound, heavy vocals, or heavy base. I enjoy the full sound option the most (the speaker comes programed to play full sound right out of the box). I don't really find the app that necessary for one speaker. I imagine that 2 or more speakers would be when I'd add the app, for stacking them together (knowing what I know now). The privacy policy is very difficult to view on the app too. I'm still not sure of what remains private, and this is NOT good. The first song I put on blew me away. I heard subtle new layers in the music that my other speaker did not deliver. It was pretty awesome. I'm going to enjoy using this for my workouts at home (I don't use wireless earbuds anymore due to RF radiation concerns). I will also enjoy this outdoors by the pool. It's not advertised as waterproof, but that's not a big deal. Charges quickly and lasts a long time. There's volume control, plus forward and back arrows to skip to the next song. The back arrow doesn't go past the current song, it only restarts the song. Not all wireless speakers will let you skip songs from the unit, so I appreciate this option. It also comes with a USB charging cord. I'm very pleased with this speaker. Hope to get a second one so I can experience the stacking capabilities.
