It is plenty loud with little to no distortion at even the highest volumes. It produces multi-directional sound that fills the room, and the range is excellent with clear highs and deep bass. You will not be disappointed with the sound quality. The speaker looks like a retro guitar amp, so if you like retro, this one's for you. Battery life is phenomenal with close to 20 hours of playback time. It's also water resistant, so a little rain won't hurt it. I wouldn't plan on submerging it, however. I really like that you can pair multiple devices with it. It also has an AUX port for plugging non-Bluetooth enabled devices into it. It also has a replaceable battery, unlike other portable speakers. The only thing about this speaker that could get a complaint or 2 is the weight. It's listed at 5.5 lbs. I would counter that argument with sound quality. There are lighter portable speakers, but none that sound better. I also own a UE Megaboom, which sounds great and is lighter, but the Kilburn II sounds better in my opinion. The bottom line is that if you want a portable speaker that sounds amazing but don't mind a little extra weight to get it, and you like retro, you won't find a better speaker than the Kilburn II.
