I have never owned a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, but they have always intrigued me whenever I see them. I have been a guitar and bass player for most of my life, so I am very familiar with the Marshall name and what their products are all about. Every Marshall amplifier I have owned always had great attention to detail, was made with quality components, sounded amazing, and it just worked. I have to say, this Bluetooth speaker fits the Marshall tradition of quality. Right out of the box you can see and feel that this speaker has a premium feel, right down to the leather carrying handle. The case looks phenomenal, and just like a regular Marshall Guitar amplifier. The knobs are the same as the guitar amps too. For controls you get the standard bass, treble and volume. There is a Bluetooth pairing button, as well as a rocker switch for skipping tracks forward or backward. There is also a M button that can be programmed for a function that you choose in the app. There is also a 10-bar LED light that displays the battery level. Although you probably won’t have to worry about that much, cause this thing plays forever! They claim 50+ hours of play time, and while I have not tested the exact time, I have no reason to believe its not accurate. I’ve had this thing playing on my desk for my entire work week (40 hours) and it still has life left in it. The app is very easy to use and to get your speaker connected too. There isn’t a ton of functionality in there, pretty much all of the same controls you have on the top of the speaker itself and a couple customization options. Now, let’s got to how this thing sounds. I had pretty high expectations, and I have to say this speaker did not disappoint! I will say that I listen mainly to rock and metal music, and this speaker sounds phenomenal. The highs, mids, and lows all seem very tuned together and none of them is stronger than the other. It pumps out a good amount of bass too! Although if you really crank it up, it will decrease those bass levels a little bit to protect the speaker. They say is has what’s called “true stereophonic” sound so that wherever you are in the room, you will have the same listening experience. I found this to work very well except for obvious extremes like if you are behind or under the speaker. But if you have this placed normally in a room, you will get the same listening experience from anywhere in the room. There is also a 3.5mm jack to plug in any auxiliary devices as well as a USBC port for charging the speaker. That USBC port can also be used as a portable charging bank if you need it to charge your phone or other devices when you are out and not near an outlet. There really isn’t any negative thing I can find about this speaker. Amazing design, sound, and all the functions you need from a Bluetooth speaker!

I've been using the Kilburn III since the day it was released, and as someone who enjoys listening to different speakers and has owned numerous brands over the years, I can confidently say it serves its intended purpose very well. This is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed for casual, everyday listening—perfect for those times when you don't feel like powering up your receiver, big speakers, and subwoofer. It's ideal for listening around the house when you just want something that sounds good without requiring critical attention. Its portability is a major plus. It’s splash-proof, making it a great companion for backyard poolside sessions or workouts in the garage gym. It easily fills a 400 sq ft space with clear sound and decent bass. In larger outdoor areas, as you move farther away, the bass naturally diminishes—typical of speakers with smaller woofers. Increasing the volume helps a bit, but this speaker isn't designed for critical listening at a distance beyond 12 feet. As for the bass, the 4-inch driver delivers what you'd expect; nothing earth-shattering, but respectable. Depending on the track, bass performance ranges from very good to average, and occasionally just acceptable. The 360-degree sound coverage is effective, delivering clear audio from both the front and back. The dual 2-inch full-range drivers do a surprisingly solid job handling high frequencies—I never felt the need to adjust the treble on any track I played. Battery life is impressive—up to 50 hours—and it doubles as a power bank. I tested it with a USB-C cable, and my Samsung Galaxy reported it was fast charging, which is a fantastic bonus. While there appear to be screws on the bottom to access the battery, I haven't needed to open it. Bluetooth connectivity has been flawless in my experience. I also appreciate the old-school analog knobs and buttons, complete with light indicators. There's even a physical switch to skip to the next track, which was especially convenient when my phone was charging in another room. Aesthetically, it's a winner. It looks great on the countertop, and my wife hasn’t once complained about it being near her decor—high praise in itself. Overall, the Kilburn III is a stylish, premium portable speaker that blends beautifully into home decor, delivers quality sound at moderate distances (up to 6–8 feet), offers long battery life, doubles as a power bank, and brings a nostalgic, tactile user experience.

    Portable, Punchy, and Classy!

This is an interesting bluetooth speaker. Most bluetooth speakers are kind of bland and don’t have much character. This Marshall speaker actually has a personality and some style with that distinct Marshall look. It’s on the larger side but the size allows for loud, punchy sound that can easily fill a large room as well as plenty of volume to work outside like on a patio. It has a very nice feeling leather (maybe faux leather?) strap to carry it around but it doesn’t appear that it can be removed. I would have liked to have that option but you can always rotate the strap back to hide it. Sound quality and the sound profile is pretty distinct on Marshall speakers. I’ve owned, and still own quite a few and while I like the “signature Marshall” sound for the most part, I’ve always felt like it was a little tinny on the high end, even while reducing treble. This speaker seems to have a tweaked sound profile to eliminate some of the harsher highs that I’ve experienced before and I literally have no complaints about it now. I think they’ve done a great job at refining the sound profile and it works well for all kinds of music. Lows can get VERY low and it’s balanced overall. It still does have a little more on the mid to high end than most other speakers but I think that’s just part of that “Marshal” sound but now it’s not harsh nor tinny. It sounds fantastic. One reason I like Marshall speakers are the physical controls which just aren’t found on most speakers. Haptic, capacitive buttons are way overused nowadays and I’m happy that they still make “retro”-style devices like this with analog controls. What’s nice though is that these are pseudo-analog, meaning that when you turn the knobs they indicate their setting with an LED. So this means that you can still control volume from your phone and it indicates that with the built-in LEDs. Battery life is fantastic where I’ve been able to have this play non-stop throughout the day and lasting days before I have to recharge it. They advertise up to 50 hours of battery life and that seems about right to me. A very convenient feature that comes in super handy especially outside is that it can also backwards charge your phone using the USB C port. A great mid-sized bluetooth speaker with some class and character!

I have had this Bluetooth offering from Marshall now for 5 days and have used in it numerous locations – outside patio, inside living room and for a cul de sac party we recently had. This speaker performed and sounded beautifully. Packaging for this product is minimalistic in a good way. All cardboard and recyclable. Speaker was well protected and enclosed you get the speaker, USB-C cable for charging and some obligatory paperwork that no one reads – except the quick start guide. Connecting to my phone and app was as easy as a Bluetooth device should be and immediately upon connection to the app, the speaker was recognized by the Marshall App, and received a firmware update that went smoothly and quickly (approx. 2 minutes). Within the app you can choose the “Marshall Signature sound EQ setting or change to your own desired EQ settings. While the signature sound setting is good, it is a bit too base heavy for my taste so I made my own EQ profile. This of course is personal taste and will change for each user. This task took me all of about 10 minutes as I have certain songs that I use for EQ tweaking. The look of this product is typical Marshall appearance – almost a retro vibe but with a modern twist. The black and gold highlights are very easy on the eyes. The top controls of the speaker allow one to adjust the volume, base and treble via turn solid feeling knobs. There is a verticle toggle switch to play next track or go back to last track. And finally a battery indicator light to let you know when charging is required. The volume and sound of this speaker are simply amazing, especially after I set my own EQ preferences. The base is simply wonderful and the balance of the tones is superb. I never even cam close to using max volume as it got plenty loud at our neighborhood party at about 70% volume. I received numerous compliments on the speaker from the neighbors both with the sound and its appearance. All in all, I think Marshall has a great product here and I highly recommend this speaker.

Don't let the compact size fool you, this speaker is powerful! I can only set it 1/2 way and it's still louder than some of my other speakers. Looking at it, you'd think it would just give pleasing sound. Load up a bass heavy track and you'll be blown away! The size of the speakers limit some of the bass range, so while it can hit those punchy thumps and some rumble it kinda falls flat on some of the sub-bass notes. You'll still get the lower frequencies, but they just don't hit like the higher frequency bass. Trebles come out clean without being too harsh for my ears and the sound fills the room...kinda too much according to my wife's reaction. I have it set up in the work out room and even though I have the volume lower than my other speakers, something about the way it sends out the sound that it travels all the way to the living room pretty clearly, lol. Sorry, but I gotta have my focus music to push me through the workout. Even though there are knobs and switches, they're not analog and work digitally. I do prefer them to the buttons and they give a unique look. As far as battery goes, I don't have the patience to test a 50hr battery, lol. I'm gonna have to trust them or let it run for 30 or so workouts and see how it holds up. This is by far my favorite Marshall speaker. The size, sound, and design are absolution perfection. If my daughter tries to run off to college with this one I'm taking a trip to snatch it back. I let the other Marshall speaker go with her since she begged, but this one is mine!

The first thing I really like about the Marshall is the look. Its got that vintage look that looks like something from the 50's. But its anything but old. The build quality is excellent and has some decent heft to it owing to the nice 4” woofer. But its not so heavy that it makes it less portable. Its just built right. The initial set up was a piece of cake connecting it to my phone. Instantly found it with my S24 plus and had access to my music library. Although a 4” woofer doesnt sound big, the sound IS big. (Pun intended). Its surprisingly punchy when needed, but doesnt over do it. Bass is clean, accurate, and tight. The combined sound is amazing. It really sounds like its coming from a much larger set up. Super overall sound! Im not sure what wizardry they used but the 360 degree sound really does impress. Another stand out feature is the battery life. It claims 50 hours which I havent checked. But even after several hours it still was in the 80% range. So I have no doubt it can get close to that. The app is very nicely laid out and easy to use. You can fine tune the speaker to your liking with ease. Bluetooth speakers have come a long way and Marshall is at the top of that in my opinion. It just doesnt get any better at this price and size. If you want a super sounding, long battery life, well made, awesome looking BT speaker look no further. I love it!

Well, to be fair I'm a HUGE Marshall fan....and I have several of their speakers already. I do like other brands, but portable speakers are hard to find with very solid performance and quality once you've heard what Marshall brings to the table. Hardware: This speaker is built well, like other speakers from their company. It's rugged. It's got an IP rating. And it's a good looking speaker, with a few upgrades as well. The new metal button layout is a nice upgrade from the Kilburn II that I've had for over 6 years. Having track; pause/play; and other controls makes this a nice update. Bringing it more in line the their Stanmore line, (which I do have as well). Sound quality: This is or should be the main reason a person would get one of these, is to really hear what a great sounding speaker should be. The bass hits hard if that's what you're into. The treble is nice and clear, if you like that way. Mids, highs, lows...are all on point. This is superior sound, coming from a small compact body. Size: This one is a little wider than my Kilburn II, but it fits. I like the new look, as it still compact. Price and overall thoughts: Buy it, and buy it now. These speakers will last you a years to come, as I've had all of my other products from this for over 6 years now, and they are still doing very well.

My wife and I use bluetooth speakers a lot, and they are all over our house. However, when I saw this become availble, I knew i had to have it after the amazing experience we have had with the Marshall Emerson speaker. We have used it so much, and it's got such a great sound, a cool aesthetic and it's small but emits big sound. The same issues cited there for the Emerson apply to the Kilburn III but it's just larger and has a bigger sound is all. Getting it setup is easy as you turn it on, go to your phone and pair it, then get the software for Marshall Kilburn III (the app) and you can adjust the sound even more. You don't have to get the app though as you can just use it as a regular pairing device and never even install any Marshall app. The way the whole thing is designed is to exuded old school Marshall amps, using retro design of metal and heft, over plastic and lightness. In this it succeeds brilliantlly, an aesthetic powerhouse that is truly amazing to look at, and loud, oh my so loud, but always so clear. Never have any issues pairing, this is just the best bluetooth speaker one can buy. Oh and that sound, oh my goodness the sound is just the absolute best. HIGHLY RECOMMNEDED. Its hefty btw, but nothing too crazy.

    Vintage Vibes

Marshall speakers are iconic design wise and the sound signature is also sought after. The Marshall Kilburn III is no different and maintains the stylish, retro-inspired goodness you want. The Kilburn III is a portable speaker that delivers great sound and has a few upgrades from the Kilburn II. I used the Kilburn III predominantly at the beach, backyard, and at the park with friends and family; so having a wider soundstage is preferred. The Kilburn 3 has been redesigned to provide a 360 soundstage and gets louder without distorting when compared to the Kilburn 2. In addition, the battery life is now bumped up to 50 hours and the controls are more user intuitive than the Kilburn II. You can easily see how much bass and treble can be added to the music and you can adjust it as needed without having to get out your phone. One con is that the Kilburn III is not water proof. While it can take light splashes I wouldn’t trust the IP54 water and dust resistance to hold up over the years. At the end of the day you get a Marshall speaker for the design as well as the sound. While there may be better speakers for water resistance, there aren’t any speakers out there that can compete with the classic Marshall design that adds a vintage vibe to the party.

I have to give Marshall a tremendous amount of credit for the design of the Kilburn III Portable Bluetooth Speaker because it looks identical to their amps that they are very well known for. I have to give them a 15/10 in regards to nostalgic design, which absolutely includes the top which is IDENTICAL to an amp. IE: You can adjust the volume, treble, bass, power button and skip buttons. It really is amazing and made of brass which is super neat. I also love that this has an included charging bank so if you plug in your USB-C cell phone it will also charge your cell phone, which worked well. The sound that the device puts out is tremendous and exactly what you would expect for a Marshall product. Its crystal clear and sounds like a surround sound stereo. Testing this indoors, the sound is fantastic and doing the same test outside in open air, it performed exceptionally well. Everything sounded great for someone who is not an audiophile. Marshall claims that the battery lasts for over 50 hours. After using this device for hours and days I still have not had to charge it. I am sure they are correct on this. Overall, its a very impressive device and I 100% recommend it.

Big Sound, Long Life in Classic Style

The Marshall Kilburn III is a compact yet powerful Bluetooth speaker that proudly carries the brand’s signature rock-and-roll identity. From the moment it’s powered on, it delivers a rich, full-bodied sound that exceeds expectations for a portable speaker of its size. Marshall has fine-tuned the Kilburn III with a dynamic driver configuration—featuring dual tweeters and a powerful woofer—to create an immersive, multidirectional audio experience. Whether you’re indoors or outside, the sound disperses evenly and maintains clarity even at higher volumes, a testament to Marshall’s legacy of building premium audio gear. Sound quality is where the Kilburn III truly shines. Marshall’s audio engineers have crafted a balanced profile that punches with deep, controlled bass and crisp highs, while mids remain warm and natural. The analog control knobs on the top panel offer tactile control over volume, bass, and treble, allowing users to fine-tune the sound to their personal preferences or environment. Unlike many wireless speakers that tend to lean toward a bass-heavy profile, the Kilburn III delivers a more refined and accurate sonic experience, staying true to the music without distorting at peak levels. Another standout feature of the Kilburn III is its impressive battery life. With up to 50 hours of portable playtime on a single charge, this speaker is built for extended listening sessions without the anxiety of constantly needing a recharge. Even with consistent usage at moderate volume, it holds up admirably over multiple days. The quick-charge feature also adds convenience—20 minutes of charging provides up to 3 hours of playtime, ensuring you can get back to your music with minimal downtime. Keep in mind Marshall highlights this in their user manuals using a 30w USB-C charger and claims only 3 hours to fully recharge. I have another AC powered Marshall speaker and always gravitate towards using it vs other speakers I own due to the audio quality. Design-wise, the Kilburn III carries the iconic Marshall aesthetic, blending vintage amp-style looks with rugged, modern durability. It features a water-resistant design and a sturdy carry strap, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. While noted as IP54 rated, I would be slightly concerned when using this speaker outdoors. I do have other bluetooth portable speakers that I would bring along on outdoor adventures or rounds of golf. This speaker is portable but due to size and IP rating would not recommend being a cornerstone for playing music at a campsite. I also appreciate that wireless connectivity has been constantly improving; they still retain the 3.5mm jack for those who still need or prefer a wired connection. To fully maximize the audio quality, I highly recommend downloading and installing the mobile app. You can customize audio preferences and even designate action for the “M” button on the device itself. The app connects super straight forward and the user experience is as expected. In addition to the app to maximize audio quality, be sure to perform All elements—from its solid construction to its satisfying tactile controls—reflect Marshall’s commitment to quality craftsmanship. The Kilburn III isn’t just another Bluetooth speaker; it’s a portable sound system built with audiophile care, ensuring every note you hear feels like a live performance.

I listen to a non battery powered Marshall many days at work and also enjoy Marshall earbuds. I had never heard or tested a portable battery powered Marshall but I am quite impressed. The unit has a great handle with a faux leather top and Red velvet undersurface and the classic Marshall classy appearance. It is quite solid and has a black textured splash resistant faux leather covering. There are large rubber feet and a plastic bottom. Sound is quite good and balanced and the battery life is quite good. Charging is usb c with 5 or 9 volt 3 amp charging. The battery can also out put 5 volt 3 amp for slow phone charging. Speaker drivers are forward and backward facing and there is a bass port. There is also an input jack for aux input. The controls are excellent but unfortunately the volume only goes to 10. There is a physical power switch and led battery gauge with basic eq (bass and treble) dials. Bluetooth is stable and there is a nice physical advance back pause play control which worked well with Spotify.

The aesthetic alone makes this a very cool Bluetooth speaker and the sound and features are great. Unpacking and setting this up was easy, the case is lightweight and the handle is sturdy. It was charged when I received it, right out of the box. The battery life was quite good - I'd say the 50+ hours as stated on the box is probably right as I had it on low volume for about a week, during the day. The recharging cycle was pretty quick - overnight from about 10% to 100%, so less than 7 hours to full. I will say that having a charging cable [included] that is a USB-C to USB-C was a bit limiting, but worked fine for me and I had a universal adapter anyway. The size is good but snug for my backpack or in a carry-on suitcase. I'd say, it's great for around the house, on a porch/deck, or throwing in the car to take it camping or a picnic. So, the controls are straight forward and easy to use, the battery indicator is easy to read - all in all, it's great looking speaker that sounds great too.
