I used to have the bose sound link mini II, but I felt that it was not loud or punchy enough. I price matched this to get it at $200 about a month ago, and I couldn't be happier. I believe this is the best sounding speaker you can get for this price range. I was considering the sonos play 1, as well as the bose mini soundlink III, but after plenty of research I found out that the kilburn is unmatched. The design is flawless, and the quality is stellar. And although some might say this speaker isn't that portable, I would say it is, and the 20 ish hour battery life makes it all the better.

I have several smaller Bluetooth speakers that I’ve generally been happy with but mostly dissatisfied when louder or outdoor playing required volume heft. The Marshall Kilburn Bluetooth speaker provides both impressive looks, weight, hours of play, and volume to satisfy the need for a true music loudspeaker. The multiple switches and control knobs helps the at heart audiophile feel like they are simply taking one of their favorite stereo equipment pieces with them in portable fashion. Sitting open and visible on display on ones kitchen counter, the Marshall Kilburn Amp commands attention to which one responds with a simple “listen to this!” I have recommended this to a number of friends with a “must have” recommendation! You won’t be dissatisfied if you simply love audio gear.

I was looking for a portable speaker with bluetooth capabilities to use outdoor. I already had the small Boss speaker which has been okay for indoor music purposes. I was slightly familiar with the Marshall brand and I believe I did a quick online search on my phone to quickly read a few reviews. One of the reps at Best Buy saw me holding it and sang its praises, stating that he also had that same exact one and that it reminded him of the Marshall guitar amplifiers. Well, I decided to give it a try and purchase it. It seemed promising. GOOD: - The packaging was beautiful and it was easy to set the speaker up, though I still read through the manual first. - The handle was cute and nifty and felt sturdy. - The sound was definitely louder than my Boss bluetooth speaker. NOT SO GOOD: - The sound was very hollow, like I was hearing the music from really far away. - The bass was not strong at all. I like to 'feel' my music when I play it. This device lacked the strong amps it would need to play strong base lines from the music. - The bluetooth was extremely hard to connect. Even with the speaker sitting right next to my laptop, it was very hard to get connection. Many times, I had to disconnect my wifi to connect the bluetooth. But sometimes that didn't work. - I was able to turn the volume knob all the way up which made me wonder why the volume progression was so minimal. It didn't sound like a huge difference in volume between the halfway turn and the very end of the knob turn. - The sound lost quality when turning the volume knob up. It wasn't a week before I decided to finally return this speaker. It didn't do the job I needed it for. I have a new appreciation for my little mighty Boss portable speaker and for the purpose of outdoor music I opted for the ION brand of outdoor speakers which I'm extremely happy with (the Outdoor Explorer to be exact--that should give you an idea of just how much volume and bass I was looking for). For anyone who doesn't plan on playing their music too loud or just want something a little better than those smaller bluetooth portable speakers, then this may still be a good option for you.

This was purchased as a gift and just like the Marshall amps for musicians, these speakers do not disappoint. In fact, I and the recipient love it. The sound is loud and clear. The overall vintage look and sound is on point. In addition, this speaker is portable which is an added bonus.

I thought the design of the speaker was important. This is so fitting as I thought. Even better, the sound quality is so good. It is a product that has design and function at the same time.

Great brand for a radio I like the texture and the looks so retro that's why get my attention also the battery last like 20 hr even with high volume I definitely recommended and it's going to look real nice in your room

Freaking high quality Bluetooth speaker. Super easy Bluetooth sync. Actual EQ options for bass and treble...who else is doing that? Looks like an old school Marshall...bonus points. Appeals to old school guitars like me...yes! But most importantly its a high quality, loud, clear sounding speaker that’s easy to pick up and go.

I've been through many portable sneakers and this by far exceeds all the rest. I've tried Bose, beats, and the Jambox and nothing comes close. You can adjust the bass and treble and the sound is very clear. It's a well built speaker and yet has a very appealing and retro look. It has up to 20 hours of battery like and syncing it is really simple. No bulky chargers. The only thing i would change is I wish it had some kind of battery strength indicator. All in all excellent product and worth every penny. I highly recommend this product!!!! Haven't had it long enough to experience any problems but I also recommend getting black tie protection on it to protect your investment.

I’ve had this for more than a year and couldn’t be any happier with it. My two year old nephew loves it as well. I recommend anyone that wants a light weight affordable speaker, this is the one to buy

This is my 4th portable blutooth unit. My last one still works but the battery has gone dead. JBL wants $20.00 less than the unit cost 4 years ago to replace the battery. Replaceable battery was a big part of the decision to buy this. Portability was a must. While larger than my previous units, still a very acceptable size. Battery life is exceptional. After initial charge we ran this for 12 hours straight at 1/2 to 3/4 volume. Volume is really good on this unit. Like all portables, it has more volume if direct wired vs. blutooth. Now the big question. How does it sound? UN-FRICKEN-BELIEVABLE! Right up there with my home stereo. Everyone at work came to see where all the great sound was coming from. Excellent highs, mids, & most of all BASS! The tone controls really let you shape the sound to the room or outdoors. Most devices don't give you tonal controls. Buy this! You will be AMAZED & SATISFIED!!

Decent size, deep (bass) rich sound (mid and high), super long battery life. Almost perfect small-mid size speaker. A little pricy so if you don't need the battery aspect I suggest the larger Stanmore. As far as mid-small speakers I don't think you can do any better peroid! Lastly this speaker is slightly geared more twards rock or equivelant as opposed to hip-hop (although it does a decent job covering it)

I've listened to many speakers before purchasing the Marshall Kilburn. This speaker pretty much blows all of the competition away for portable bluetooth speakers with a rechargeable battery. The only other one that came close was the Harmon Kardon model that Best Buy carries. If you are concerned with getting a portable and rechargeable bluetooth speaker that has top notch analog/real world type of sound than this is the one for you. Almost all other bluetooth speakers just have really loud volume and are specifically tuned for only top 40 and hip hop music while any other genres on those speakers sound sub par. Not the case with the Kilburn. This is an extremely well rounded speaker and pretty much any type of music sounds excellent!!! Don't waste your time driving yourself crazy comparing a ton of other speakers. Just buy this one and you'll be happy.

I bought this Marshall speaker after reading other reviews being very positive. This unit has excellent sound and as others mentioned the volume, bass & treble controls are great as you can adjust for different types of music to achieve optimum clarity and tones. This thing is fantastic as I've got other home systems that are Bose which I started to purchase their Bluetooth speaker but decided on this one. I'm glad I did as it is a great speaker slightly larger than many but well worth the purchase price of $223 on sale. It gets plenty loud for it's size and battery life is 5-7 hours at 3/4 volume, with heavy bass. I especially like the vintage amp look and carry strap attached. It has been a hit with friends and family at the pool and outdoor gatherings.

The sound quality of this speaker is amazing! Lots of bass and lots of sound from a small and compact unit. I was looking for something to take out to sports fields as the current one i had was good for small rooms or outside but this one is great taking out to the sports field and for backyard parties. Highly recommended!

This speaker is amazing. . . But many would be disappointed in the wide array of pretty standard features even the cheapest speakers have, but that this one lacks. If you want to be able to charge your phone off the speaker's battery, don't buy this. If you want something small and light, don't buy this. If you want the speaker's battery level info in your phone, do not but this speaker. Want waterproof and shock resistant, Do not buy this speaker! Cool lighting system? Nope! Speakerphone? No way! Great price point? Even on sale, this is double the price of many other very well rated Bluetooth speakers and as seen above, you do lose out on a lot of things that I have found useful on other speakers. But, if you want sheer sound quality. If you want clarity, crispness, clean bass response. If you want to hear tiny nuances of instruments, timbre of vocals. . . . If you want realism in your music, you should absolutely buy this speaker! There is no way you can deny the massive upgrade in sound quality over ALL competitors including Bose, JBL, Sony, and Ultimate Ears. Those guys are good, and have a great feature set, but they do not sound like this. Every genre of music I threw at it was reproduced better than any of the above brands can manage. Rock, Hip-Hop, heavy metal, soul, R&B, electronic, jazz, classical, acoustic performances, country, salsa and bachata. . . Everything I could find sounded magnificent. It is portable with a solid battery life. It is beautifully designed with a velvet lined leather strap, metal buckles, and a leather wrapped exterior. The control panel on top is brushed aluminum with sturdy metal knobs, buttons and switches. It is supremely simplistic in it's function and is by far the most user friendly speaker out of any of the aforementioned competitors brands. The ease of changing bass and treble with the knobs on top makes you realize the absurdity of having to rely on an app to do so (if that feature is even available). It uses a universal polarized power cord, and also comes with a UK compatible one in the box in case you are going overseas. Even the aux cable it comes with is awesome. The textured metal thumb grips and a coiled cable design with make you forget it's just aux cable and will leave you looking for your Fender Stratocaster. There is no way you will be disappointed in this piece of equipment. . . If you want sound quality. If you want features, then DO NOT BUY THIS SPEAKER! That said, I'm gonna go turn the volume back up.

This is the best portable bluetooth amp I have ever heard! crystal clear whatever the volume level. I have had Marshall amplifiers before and they always preform top shelf! Volume level is always under rated ( they crank!!) this is no exception. haven't had to recharge yet. 20 hrs to a charge, perfect! Love it!

The speaker is a best value buy in its category. The bass and treble are perfect for the day to day music which we listen to. The sound output is high and filsl up an entire room with its thumping and crisp sound. The battery which provides backup for around 16 hours is good but due to this it gets slightly heavy, hence reduced a star :( Look is a USP for this product where it can't be beat. It has a retro feel with the knobs and toggle switch which are too hard to ignore.The leather strap which makes it portable adds to its overall look and makes it handy to roam around with. Everyone would glance to this product for second time as it is secondary to none. No other brand provides such a cool and retro looking product. Buy and relieve the retro era!!
