Great Sound and Luxurious
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been testing the new Marshall Monitor III over ear ANC headphones for the last week. Overall, these headphones are fantastic and are the most luxurious headphones I have had the pleasure of testing. Inside the box there is the headphones, hard shell case, USB-C charging cable, and a USB-C to AUX cable. Setup was very simple and intuitive. I just held the joystick control for 5 seconds to turn the headphones on and my phone immediately detected the headphones. I was then greeted with a popup on my phone that opened the Marshall app and two or three clicks later the headphones were ready to use. Look and Feel These headphones are absolutely gorgeous. They are made of durable-feeling plastics with a touch of metal and extremely soft PU leather earcups. The construction of the headphones is solid, lightweight, and feels luxurious everywhere you touch. They compactly fold into a very small profile and fit perfectly inside the included hard case. Speaking of the hard case, it also looks and feels luxurious. Sporting a textured exterior and velvet-lined interior with a pocket that perfectly fits the included cables. Fit and Sound Quality The Marshall III headphones are very comfortable to wear. They have a good clamping force that gives me confidence that they won't fall off when I tie my shoes. The ear cups are large enough to fit my ears without touching them. However, after an extended period of wear, they did make my ears warm. As far as sound quality is concerned, they sound fantastic. The default Marshall sound profile is well-balanced, but I prefer the bass-boosted profile. The drivers are responsive and provide excellent sound separation throughout the soundband. Vocals are very clear, and the bass is tight and punchy without muddying up the mids. However, I wish it would hit harder. Volume is adequate and gets loud with virtually no distortion. But this is another area where I wish I could turn it up just a few more notches. In the Marshall app, there is a setting for soundstage that simulates listening to music in different-sized rooms. I love this setting because it provides a natural feeling of being in front of a live band. Features and Controls I love the placement and function of the controls. The joystick works well and is the perfect control mechanism for volume, skipping songs forward and back, and powering the headphones on/off. Separately, there is an ANC button and a Marshall button inconspicuously hidden on the hinge of the earcup. This is another nice design touch. The ANC works really well and doesn't cause too much pressure on my eardrums. The Transparency mode also works well, and there are 3 levels of transparency. The Bluetooth connection was strong and never faltered. Battery life is outstanding. Marshall claims 70 hours, which seems to be accurate considering that a week has passed, and I still have 40 percent battery left. With all that said, If you are looking for a luxurious set of over the ear headphones with great sound and awesome features, look no further. These are the headphones for you. I highly recommend them.

Marshall Monitor III - Perfect Headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Monitor III A.N.C. Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones are the most comfortable, most sophisticated, most gorgeous - the absolute best headphones I have ever had the pleasure of having sit over my ears! To add to the luxury feel, they come in (what looks/feels like) a hard-leather velvet-lined zippered case. The headphones fold up to fit in the case. In addition to the carrying case, they come with a USB-C to 3.5 mm (removable) audio cord and a very short USB-C charging cable. Note that there is no 3.5 mm port on these headphones. However, the USB-C charging port can also be used as an audio input port. The wireless way to connect to your source is via bluetooth, and I have experienced no issues with the bluetooth connection at all. These Marshall headphones sit comfortably over, not on, my ears which allows me to wear them for several hours at a time without any discomfort to my ears which I usually get with other headphones. I don't know how much these weigh, but they feel extremely lightweight, which adds to the comfort no matter what I'm doing when I wear them. I wear these quite often when doing my household "chores" - and I set them to ANC (active noise cancelling) mode so I don't have to hear all of the noises and sounds of the household. No, I don't have kids :). I do the same when at the gym. When I wear these outside for my walks and such, I know I can switch to transparency mode to allow some of the outside sounds in. For me, this always feels safer when I am in the outside world - - I want to hear horns, etc. And I can make this change with just the tap of a button on the headphones. Using the ANC mode will use battery power more quickly than on transparency mode. Marshall states you can get 100 hours of listening on a charge when not using ANC, but 70 hours when using ANC. The controls on these are fairly simple to remember - there is a multidirectional control button to turn the headphones on and off, answer/end phone calls, adjust the volume, skip songs, etc. There is what they call the "M" button which is customizable from within their app. I have mine set to control Spotify - to open Spotify and then skip tracks. There are numerous other settings you can choose for that button. Speaking of the Marshall app, with this, you can adjust and set your own custom setting for the equalizer, adjust settings to extend the life of your battery as well as a few other settings to personalize your use of these headphones. These Marshall Monitor III A.N.C. Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones fill my head, my chest, my entire body with pure, crystal clear sound. The bass is incredible and the treble is perfect with the mids filling in the spaces with glorious full sound. I love these and I would 100% recommend these to anyone looking for absolutely incredible headphones. These are my find of a lifetime!

I Really Like These Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like these Marshall Monitor III headphones. The headphones sound great and the noise canceling works well too. The headphones are very comfortable to wear and they feel secure on my head when moving around. The ear cushions are very soft and pillowy and completely cover my ears. They are also very comfortable to wear with glasses and don’t pinch or interfere with my glasses. The headphones have a solid construction, yet they feel very lightweight on my head and are easy to wear for long periods of time. They are also hinged to fold up compactly. They come with a nice, compact, zippered hard case. This case is great for travel and has a magnetic pocket to hold the usb c charging cable and stereo cable. The usb c charging cable is short, just under 9 inches long, but gets the job done. My only complaint with the Monitor III headphones is the usb c - 3.5mm stereo cable. First, the usb c connection means that you can’t use the audio cable unless the headphones are turned on. So, if the headphones aren’t charged up or on a long trip your battery runs out, you can’t just listen through the audio cable. The second and bigger issue is that the sound through the usb c cable is really crappy, quiet with a lot of static. The headphones do connect wirelessly quickly and easily to multiple devices. Marshall claims up to 70 hours of playtime and this seems believable since I’ve only charged them once in the week that I have been using them and even when I charged them they weren’t even fully depleted yet. There is a Marshall app which is not needed to use the headphones, but does have some useful features, like wireless firmware updates and some customization options. For example, there is an “M” button on the right ear that can be set to control Spotify, the graphic equalizer, voice assistant, or soundstage. I set mine to soundstage, which is a cool feature that virtually changes the size of the listening room, so you can make your music sound more like you are listening in a small room or a large concert hall or something in between. The app also has a graphic equalizer and you can have 2 presets. You can also use the app to make some adjustments to the noise canceling. Other useful features in the app control the level of battery preservation (like maximum battery charge and charging speed), standby timeout settings (like how long before they turn off when you take them off), and auto play/pause when you put on/take off the headphones. Overall, except for the usb c audio cable, these are really great over the ear, noise canceling headphones.

Incredible Noise cancelling and Rich Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am thoroughly impressed with the Marshall Monitor III A.N.C. headphones! First of all, they come in a beautifully crafted case that features a soft velvet interior and a leather-like exterior. The headphones fold neatly for storage, making it easy to put them away when not in use. Inside the case, there is a convenient pouch for storing the charging cable. The earpads are soft and comfortable, providing a perfect fit without feeling tight. They offer excellent coverage around the ears, and the headband is easily adjustable and very sturdy. These headphones are ideal for exercising and various activities. I’ve been wearing them around the house, and they are amazing! Now, let's talk about sound quality it's top-notch! The Active Noise Cancelling feature is impressive; as soon as it’s activated, you feel as if you’ve been transported to another planet. In total silence, all you can hear is your heartbeat, and once the music starts, it completely captivates you. The sound is fantastic, even at the highest volume smooth and rich. There are three buttons located on the headphones: the left one controls the Active Noise Cancelling, while the two on the right manage power, volume, and playback functions like skipping or pausing tracks. Additionally, there’s a customizable button (the M button) that can be set for your preferred action, such as activating a voice assistant or adjusting the equalizer. Marshall claims that these headphones offer 70 hours of playtime; I've had mine for a week without needing to charge them, and they are still performing well. The app is useful but not essential. It allows you to customize sound settings, manage battery preservation, and adjust standby timeouts. However, I prefer the "Original Marshall Sound" and have kept the settings as they are.

Marshall stepping up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Marshall is the latest new contender to join the flag ship noise cancelling headphones lineup and they show some potential. Starting with the pros: I love how portable these headphones can be. You can fold them , sit them around your neck , swivel the ear cups in both directions and on top of that you can even collapse them and they fit in almost any compartment imaginable. They come with a very premium hard shell carrying case and inside the case it has a smooth silky red velour fabric with a compartment for the charging cord and USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. Really puts the Sony, Bose and Apple on notice. The build quality of the Marshall is also worth praising; the Marshall's are literally build like a tank. Scratch proof, dent proof, drop proof. I didn't see an official IP rating in the manual though so I'm not sure if they're waterproof or resistant but they can withstand a splash of water and light rain just don't submerge them into a pool. Last pro to mention but also a con I will mention more in the cons section is the audio quality: the details are very well pronounced and the soundstage is well respected. The bass can pack an upbeat burst and is not too sloppy. If you want to really appreciate an accurate music session you will enjoy these. Now going into the cons: Although I enjoy the elaborate details of the mids and treble and the bass not being too sloppy, I was a bit disappointed with the bass not being more powerful. In some songs the bass was at times mute and I didn't give me the deep low end I crave for in when jamming on bass heavy tracks. I think the small 32 mm drivers these have installed are part of the reason why but only I know and everyone has different ear shapes and wavelengths so it could be just a placebo effect but I wish for low end impact. Another con is the ANC: They have the price tag of a flagship but they most certainly do not perform like $350-400-450 ANC headphones. They perform more like middle of the road $200-250 ANC headphones. So yeah ANC was not as great as I hoped. The transparency was solid though. It's similar to Airpods Max and Bose. So overall a very very good attempt from Marshall stepping into the premium flagship territory but definitely some things they can refine in the next iteration. I would wait for a sale on these honestly.

Great tech, great sound, and super comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Marshall’s latest update to the Monitor headset is a great refinement on a great series. While the previous series boasted great battery life, great sound quality, in a portable and quality design, Marshall has appeared to improve on each of those points incrementally. First of all, I didn’t have the Monitor II, but I did have the original monitor. A couple things stand out between the two that need to be addressed. First of all, you’re giving up the 3.5mm phono jack and out of the box wired connectivity. However, if you check the specs (and the bottom of the box), you do get wired connectivity via the USB-C port’s capability to do analog audio over the cable. That cable is hiding in the bottom of the box and is a nice inclusion. However most of the time you’ll want to use the wireless. The included case is quite nice, with a soft red interior and a pouch to keep the cables. It’s about as small as it possibly could be. The fact that you can fit a pair of over the ear headphones into a case this small is insane. My only critique of it would be that it’s oddly shaped due to how the headphones fold in. Physical design of these cans is quite nice. The padding is quite comfortable in the ear pads, and the head clamping force was even and not overwhelming. I felt good wearing these hours on end. The hinges are made from metal and feel solid. The headband has a TPU liner that I know exactly what it’s for. My original Monitor recently started having their bonded leatherlike material start to flake away. This is oils and other things absorbing into the headband material and causing it to delaminate. This flexible rubber like band keeps that material safe and hopefully from flaking off 5 years into its life. The earcups are a classic Marshall design, and feel quite durable. The brass Marshall logo is iconic and looks really nice. The right earcup has the brass control button, which can be depressed to turn on the headset, pressed quickly for play/pause, and control track with left/right and volume with up/down. There are two other hidden buttons where the headband connects to the housing of the earcups. These buttons are customizable in the app, and are pretty nifty places to hide buttons. An aside on the bluetooth is 5.3. You get great optimizations on power consumption, range, and stability of connection. In my usage, Marshall’s implementation in this case seems on point. Battery life promises up to 70 hours, but realistically if you’re using this during your work day, you should get a week between charges. Range was excellent as well, able to cover my entire house easily without experiencing any drops. The Marshall app does a great job. I have had funky apps for headphones in the past, but the execution from Marshall is flawless. There’s a lot in here that lets you adjust the sound to your personal tastes. The first major setting is the noise control which lets you turn on active noise cancelation (ANC), or enable transparency mode. You get a 3 setting slider to adjust either effects power as well. ANC did a good, but not great job of blocking out outside noise. WIth over the ear headphones you have limits based on the pads. That said, they do a great job with normal noise blockage. Transparency mode is quite nice, and let me easily switch into listening to my TV then swap back to music with ANC. If I’m cleaning the house, it’s nice to be able to hear the kids, which transparency mode enables. Further in the app is the equalizer, which provides 5 bands of adjustments. There are preset ones, and the first ‘slot’ (which can be swapped using the button if you so choose) is always ‘Marshall’ sound. I setup a custom equalizer with a power V curve and it definitely let these shine. The implementation didn’t cause any clipping or any negative audio effects. Beyond that, the app also exposes other features, like button customizations, Spotify Tap (auto launch spotify and play, but I don’t have spotify, so I can’t comment on this). Enabling auto play (taking the headphones off your head stops the music, and putting them on causes music to play), battery preservation settings (charging speed, limiting how much charge, and temperature aware charging), and timeout. The other big setting to talk about is soundstage, which simulates a wider soundstage with room size and effect amount. Overall I found this setting makes very little difference, but it does have a subtle effect. Now, of course, sound wise, what do you expect? It’s Marshall, and they definitely have a warm flavor to them. This is definitely not a reference headphone - as the sound is already following a decent v curve. Bass is emphasized, but not muddy. I overall loved the out of the box and even my exaggerated custom curve. Volume can go all the way up with minimal distortion and they definitely get loud enough to be uncomfortable. The bass has presence, and the mids are distinct. Highs are crisp, and overall I feel like most people would be impressed by the quality, as was I. Overall the excellent build quality, battery life, and just wonderful audio quality make these a great product. The price is a bit higher than I would have preferred, but compared to other products in its price category, they’re very strong. Coupled with a great app, with great features, this is a winning headset.

Great Noise Cancelling Headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall - Monitor III A.N.C. Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones are a great set of headphones. I am thoroughly enjoying them with every use. I've tested these out and have the following observations: - In the box, you get the headphones, a USB-C Charging cable, a USB-C to 3.5mm audio cord, a Quick Start Guide and a Hardcase. - The Monitor III's are a nice looking set of headphones, black with gold logos and control knob. They are very lightweight, but also feel solid and well-made. - The Hardcase is very nice. It has a hard outer shell with a velvet lining and pocket for the cords. The headphones fold up very small to fit in the case. It is one of the smallest cases I've seen for over-the-ear headphones and will be convenient for my carry-on luggage. - The ear pieces are a very soft material and they are super comfortable to wear. I've worn them for an entire day while working and they feel great. - They were easy to set up and connect. The Bluetooth connection to my phone was quick. Then download the Marshall Bluetooth App and follow the instructions to do a firmware update and walk through the settings and instructions for the various features available through the App. - While you can just use them straight out of the box to connect to your phone or music source, the App is very useful to do some one-time set up and choose various options. The App shows the percent of battery life left; you can set the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) level and the transparency volume; you can choose between 6 different equalizer settings - Marshall Signature Sound, Custom, Bass Boost, Mid Boost, Treble Boost and Mid Reduction; with the Custom equalizer setting you can adjust the 5-band equalizer to create the sound you want; you can toggle on/off Adaptive Loudness; you can set which combination of the three ANC settings you want the on-ear ANC mode button to toggle between - ANC, Transparency and Off; you can choose which action setting you want the on-ear M Button to control - Spotify Tap, toggle between 2 equalizer settings - the Marshall Signature Sound and one other EQ setting of your choice, Soundstage, voice assistant, or Do Nothing; you can set the Room Size and amount for the Soundstage option; you can toggle on/off the interactions sounds for ANC prompts; you can turn on/off the auto-play/pause when the headphones are worn or taken off; you can choose a battery preservation mode and level; and you can select the standby timeout mode and the time until they turn off when not used or the timeout length when not connected. There are a lot of great features available in this App that allow you to customize the Monitor III's however you like to use them. - The ANC feature is great. It really cuts out all the background noise and doesn't impact the quality of sound when in use at all. It is nice to have an ANC button on the earpiece that allows you to toggle between ANC and transparent mode, as it makes it quick to click on the button and be able to hear noises around you when necessary, or switch back to ANC. - There are a total of three controls on the headphones. The control knob that allows you to power on/off, play/pause, forward, reverse, answer and disconnect calls, adjust volume and put in pairing mode, the ANC button explained above, and the customizable M-button which you can choose for an action from the list mentioned in the description of the App above. These on-ear controls are easy to find and use when wearing the headphones. - Of course the most important thing with headphones is the sound. The sound is incredible! I've tested them out with all kinds of music - loud, soft, acoustic, female and male singers, instrumental, and various genres of music. It all sounds great! Plus with the ability to set custom equalizer settings, you can really adjust it to the sound you like best. I like a heavy, deep bass, and the bass is excellent in these headphones. - The battery life is also excellent, with up to 70 hours of playback on a full charge. The Marshall Monitor III's are a great set of headphones, with excellent sound, a useful App with many customizable features, and a terrific design that allows them to fold into a small hardcase for travel. I am really enjoying these new headphones and highly recommend them!

Can't say enough good things about these
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give these headphones a solid 11 out of 10. Blown away is an understatement. These are the most comfortable and best fitting set of headphones I have put on my head in my entire 35+ years of life. As soon as I opened the package and felt the leather material and saw the vivid red lining of the protective case, I knew these were going to be over the top. I've had some marshall earbuds before and those were nice but these are just a cut above the rest. The cushions on the ears are so soft and conform to your head like a soft pillow. The padding on the head band piece is nice without being huge and bulky like some others I have tried. These swivel and move so smoothly that you can find your perfect fit with next to zero effort. These charged quick, and hold a charge for longer than I expected with the performance. Usually if headphones sound well or have good noise reduction/cancelling then you are draining battery faster than you'd like. I didn't have that issue with these and the sound quality works amazing with everything. These have become my go to for music/movies and podcasts. The only thing I don't use them for is when I clean so they don't get sweaty/dirty or covered in dust etc. I love the protective case for tossing these in a bag when I'm on the go. I just can't recommend these enough if you want solid sound quality with the most comfortable materials and build I've run across yet.

They look and sound great.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Monitor 3 are a very nice pair of noise cancelling headphones. They fit comfortably on my head. I do have to say that you can tell feel them on your head. Not a bad thing but they are not like other headphones where the goal is for you to not be able to tell you are wearing headphones. I really enjoy the compact nature when not using them. They fold up to just the earpiece size. The case they come with is also high quality and should help maintain the materials These headphones are made of. I enjoy the material. The noise cancelling feature works. I have no complaints about it. I have not taken these on an airplane so I can't tell you how well they do in that environment. Going back to how small the case and headphones are when stored. They can easily fit in any bag, purse, backpack. They do not take up a lot of room if traveling with over the ear headphones is something you do often. The sound quality is good. Bass is solid. Soundstage is clear. They did a good job. I would recommend these headphones to others. I would say these headphones sound well for what they are. After wearing them for an hour or so I was still ok with having them on. Look great, sound great, are comfortable.
