This is the first review I’ve ever left for Best Buy I bought the speaker because there was a very good sale on it…. At the end of the day I am very disappointed with it…. Of course it works but it does not get very loud…. If there is any background noise in the room you can barely hear this thing…. I also own a couple Milwaukee tool battery powered speakers they sound just as good and get way louder and they run on battery or ac power…. And they are probably half the price….. I am not sure if I would recommend the speaker there are probably a lot of cheaper options with equivalent performance

    A Solid BT Speaker

It was the appearance of the speaker that initially captured my interest. It just looks retro cool... like an old guitar amp. It was very easy to set up. I initially installed the Marshall app, but I honestly do not see much use for it. Once you have the sound set up how you want, which you can do using the controls on the speaker, you can use your mobile device to control the volume fo the speaker. I first connected to the speaker using my Samsung Galaxy Tablet. It was super easy to pair the two devices. I chose my favorite song to play and... WOW!!! The sound out of the speaker is amazing! It really IS a solid speaker. The bass, the clarity... just wonderful. It really filled up our large room with wonderful music. I was also able to, very easily, connect to the speak via iPhone. The only device I could not pair with the speaker was my Pixel 2. The phone would just not pick up the speaker. I did some research and this seems to be an issue with Pixel 2 phones; they have a problem connecting to BT speakers, though I have no problem with my smartwatch or car BT. I also tried using this speaker as a default speaker for a Google Home device. I had some issues with getting the speaker connected, then staying connected. Again, I believe this is an issue with the Google Home system. Overall, this is a great BT speaker. My music sounds wonderful on it. I would recommend it as a basic, but high quality BT speaker.

An iconic look that pretty much works with any decor, great sound and Alexa compatibility makes this a very well-rounded speaker. This thing is LOUD. While near max volume will cause distortion if your bass is turned up, it's well beyond the point of what most normal people will turn their volume to. For a wireless speaker, it's a bit large, but that's part of the reason it sounds so good as it accommodates a 50 watt class D amp for the woofer and a pair of 15 watt amps for the two tweeters. If you live in an apartment the Stanmore is perfectly capable of irritating your neighbors. But it's not not just about quantity -- the Stanmore II is very musical, with bright and precise mids and trebles, and a rich overall tone. Songs sound detailed and clear, while the bass is powerful but well controlled, with plenty of texture to boot. It’s a speaker that’s suitable for all rooms, and most types of audio as well (voice, podcasts, etc.). Connectivity is good, but not great. It has blue tooth and Wi-Fi built-in, but no Ethernet port or USB port either. There is an RCA jack on the back to connect an analog output. You need to use Alexa, or your phone when connected via Bluetooth to control music playback and it also supports Spotify Connect. Provided Spotify is linked with Amazon Alexa, it’s easily controlled using voice. If you're looking for a wireless speaker with big, bold sound, great looks, and excellent build quality look no further.

I'm using since 2 weeks and I have very bad experience with this speaker. It suddenly increases the sound that's kind of annoying when I contacted the Marshall customer service their response also very bad. Time god I'm still in return window period so returning this item. I would recommend to get Bose.

Thank you for your review. It may be possible that the speaker had been previously connected to another device. When this device comes into range, the speaker will assume it's volume level, which would cause a spike in loudness. Apologies that the speaker was unsatisfactory for your needs. Take care.

An Iconic look back by that Iconic Marshall Sound

To be honest, the first time I’ve seen the Stanmore II I thought it was just a guitar amp until I read the description. With decades of producing some of the best music equipment, I knew this Bluetooth speaker wasn’t going to disappoint. I love how the speaker stands out with that iconic look. It’s definitely an eye catcher that gets lots of compliments. Most people know right away it’s a Marshall product just by how it looks. The top panel has 3 analog control knobs that control volume, treble, and bass along with the power switch, 3.5mm aux jack, source button, and play/pause button. On the back, you also get RCA audio jacks input to connect to other sources like other audio equipment like a CD player or Tv too. Best way to summarize it’s an old school look sprinkle with some current tech. With Bluetooth 5.0 and aptX onboard wireless sounds top notch. There’s also an app that allows you to adjust equalizer settings, the brightness of the LEDs, firmware upgrade and connect it to another speaker for a much louder stereo sound. Marshall does have a WiFi model of the Stanmore II with Google Now/Alexa voice assistance. The best part it’s the sound that it reproduces. I cannot recall a Bluetooth speaker that had me hooked with the sound quality. It’s like watching your favorite movie that’s been upgraded to Ultra HD. No matter what genre of music you’re into this speaker delivers bright, crisp audio complimented by a punchy bass. Trust me the first track you play on this will have you hooked. The first day I received it I spent hours going through my music catalog that included hits from Pink Floyd, The Who, Elvis to old school hip hop like A Tribe Called Quest and much more. For sound comparison, I compared it to the Sony Smart Speaker (SRS-XB501G) which I had the opportunity to try out. The Sony Smart Speaker it’s also a solid performer that gets loud too but the Marshall has a much wider crispy sound that just envelops an entire room. It’s a pricey speaker that is well worth the price of admission that in return will breathe in some new life into your favorite tracks. The only complaint I have is that instead of 2 models Marshall should just made the WiFi version as the standard offering. It’s a not a deal breaker for me but it’s still nice that Marshall at least offers it since it’s mainly a stationary home speaker.

OK, truth be told, I love this little speaker! As a former guitar player who has countless hours both in studio and on stage, I am quite familiar with the lineage that is Marshall. While I almost always played through Mesa Boogie pre-amps, tube power amps and 2 4x12 Mesa Boogie cabinets, I will admit that I always loved the pure Marshall tone and sound that my other guitarist got from his Marshall JCM 800 head unit. The tone was... Well, truly and only Marshall. I can say that they did a yeomans job in extending that heritage to this little speaker. First impressions, the packaging struck me as slightly higher in quality than from some other popular wireless speakers I have used. Opening the box, it was packaged as to be expected. Remove the top layer of snug protective Styrofoam and the speaker was next wrapped in solid dust-jacket. A simple pull on the dust-jacket and this gorgeous speaker pulled right out. Here is where I started to fall in love... This unit had the classic look and feel of Marshall's legendary pre/power amps. Beautiful textured black covering juxtaposed against the classic gold inset and the positive feedback of the volume and tone knobs brought me right back into the studios and stages in the early 90's. Continuing the un-boxing and the usual suspects were included: US power chord, UK power chord, a simple set-up guide and the obligatory warning sheet in 27 languages. Set up was simple... Plug in, hold the momentary power switch and she came to life. The red LED's showing the settings for volume and tone knobs were quite cool. It certainly added to the overall quality of the unit. I downloaded the app to my phone and the pairing was as quick as it was simple. Once it was paired, there was about a 6 minute Bluetooth firmware upgrade, it was good to. Before I preview the actual speaker, let me note that while I have seen reviews that slammed the app, it has been rock solid for me. Is it particularly robust? Not really, but is it perfectly serviceable and effective? Yes, very much so. You can easily control the EQ from the app as well as the cool red lights. Not sure what some others wanted, but it did everything I would want/need. Great, but how does it sound? Short answer is awesome. The first thing I played was 5 Finger Death Punch "Wrong Side Of Heaven". The sound was fantastic. The lows were deep and room filling. The mids were fantastically crisp and perfectly balanced against the lows and crisply framed the highs. The highs were also fantastic. very crisp and natural sounding. I then tested several other songs from metal to country to classical and this little lady handled with aplomb each and every scenario I tossed at her. Very impressive. The tone was fantastic, the sound room filling and all packaged in that beautiful little Marshall frame. Excellent. Other nice features include multiple input options from Bluetooth to 3.5 mm jack to RCA allowing for multiple source options. That said, in some speakers I have used, the Bluetooth occasionally does not offer quite as high audio as compared to wired but this speaker is able to bring BT to almost wired quality. Very well done, Marshall. If I have to find something to offer as a negative, it's that this doe not go to 11... It would be nice if it were Nigel Tufnel approved and went to 11. If you get the reference, yes, I agree, one of the funniest movies ever. All seriousness, this is a fantastic little speaker and would be great for garages, basements, man caves but also with its pure beauty, just as comfortable in any living area of the house. I would certainly recommend this to a friend. I rarely give 5 star ratings, but I honestly can find no reason to offer any less.
