Sounds great but does NOT have Alexa connectivity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The description is inaccurate, this model doesn't have Alexa connectivity or functions. It does have Bluetooth (including AptX), 3.5mm, and stereo RCA inputs. It only plugs in to AC power, no batteries. But - it sounds great! I use it in my basement rec room which is about 17' x 30' and it easily fills the space with sound. The bass is very good and it will play far louder than I will ever need. The bass and treble controls don't have a big effect on the sound but it is noticeable and useful. Only thing that might be an issue for some people is that the smatphone app you are required to use to set this up requires access to your location and some people don't like that. I personally don't really care.

Retro looking tech that sounds great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always loved the look of the first gen Marshall bluetooth speakers and now the with second gen they look even better. The material and build of this speaker is fantastic and gives a true retro vibe. It looks great sitting on my shelf. The gold analog dials, switch, and buttons add to the touch yet provide responsive feedback and functionality. Note this is the model without assistant. Also note it has no internal battery so its not really considered portable although its still small and light enough to easily move around. I like that it has a audio out and a headphone jack as well. Sizewise I would say its just a tad bigger than most bluetooth speakers in this size range which I think gives it a bit of advantage over others. This stanmore model is Marshalls mid sized bt speaker. The mobile app guides you through connecting to the speaker. Once connected it allows you to update the speaker firmware. You can also fine tune the eq settings, rename it, change led brightness, etc. You don't need the app to connect and use the speaker but I suggest using it at least for first setup so you can update the speaker firmware and further tune to your liking. Now whats important, how does it sound. My personal opinion I would say this thing really does sound great for its size. It truly fills the room and then some. Also most bluetooth speakers this size get pretty distorted at the higher volume but this thing does a pretty good job when cranked. The bass is pretty loud too. I compared it to some other speakers I have that were around the same size and I would say after some fine tuning this thing won. If you want a unique bluetooth speaker that looks great yet sounds great I highly suggest the Stanmore II.

Iconic look for a great speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I was never a guitar player but I love music and understand the iconic status of a Marshall amp. Stanmore has done an outstanding job of recreating the look and feel of a Marshall amp in the form of a Bluetooth speaker. From the moment you turn it on and hear the guitar lick notifying you the speaker is now powered up, to turning the dials on the top of the speaker just like on a Marshall amp, the entire look and feel of the Marshall amp is captured. After I got over how cool it was just to turn on the speaker, I synched the speaker with my phone and played some classic rock. I was very impressed with the quality of sound coming out of this speaker. It enabled a wide range of sound at a low volume and the sound quality improved the more I turned up the volume. The only downside I have with this is similar to other bluetooth speakers where you are required to download their app (and register) to synch your speaker. I have several bluetooth speaker apps that I have only used once. I wish the manufacturers would just let you synch via your phone or other wireless device. I also tried to use the apps features to control some of the sound levels but they were not working. This speaker will hold a prominent place in our entertainment room. The only thing that could make this speaker better is if you could turn up the volume to 11!

Ruined by Faulty Bluetooth
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers sound quite nice, WHEN THEY WORK. The bluetooth functionality is INFURIATING. I cannot use my mouse and this speaker at the same time ( - the speaker will go choppy randomly if any bluetooth mouse is turned on). When I pair two speakers (I have this Stanmore II and an Acton II), the secondary speaker of the pair cuts in and out constantly. It is AWFUL. I have tried switching which is the primary speaker. I have tried moving them around - close together, close to the source, to a different area. I tried them with an Android phone and a Macbook. I've tried different power outlets. I've tried unpairing and re-pairing. This is making me miserable, because you can't sink into enjoying music when you know it is going to be ripped out from under you repeatedly and randomly. I wanted to love these speakers because they do sound nice, but instead I legit yelled today out of pure frustration trying to get them to work.

Posted .Hi Faye, thanks for reaching out. We are sorry to hear about this. The speakers need to be within a meter or so of each other to function and they must be in a spot where other wireless signals won't interfere. Please try moving them closer together and in other locations in your room. Good luck.

Looks nice but not great sound and hard to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The speaker looks nice, but I was expecting it to sound much better given the price. Also the set-up was a pain because you need to use an app, which really should not be necessary to set up a stereo speaker.

Posted .Hello, thanks for your feedback. The setup is possible without the app: set the source to Bluetooth and hold the source button in until the LED light starts to flash. Once LED light is flashing, the speaker should appear in your music device's list of available Bluetooth devices. Sorry to hear that you weren't blown away by the sound. If you have any further questions or for assistance, please reach out to [email protected].

Huge flaw
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beware, this speaker goes into auto standby mode after 20 minutes, that’s means you have to physically turn a knob or press a button for it to come out of standby mode. If you are going to connect this via Bluetooth to tv or even wired connection and you don’t play anything for 20 min or more, you have to walk up to the speaker press a button so it wakes up again. There is no feature to turn off the auto standby (sleep) feature.

Posted .Hello WoodyAllen,
Thank you for your review. It is true that the Stanmore II Bluetooth will go into standby mode after 20 minutes of not being used or interacted with. However, it is also possible to wake the speaker through the Marshall Bluetooth app.

fantastic item!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, this speaker is awesome. First impressions right out of the box is that this speaker is powerful, heavy duty, and feels like it is actually worth its price. There is no denying that this speaker is made for a music enthusiast and audiophile, not only does it look fantastic and dare I say it, aesthetically pleasing? But it also has a nice rich sound that you just will not get with many other bluetooth speakers, I really would only compare its sound to my bose speaker. I was a little disappointed to see that in order to first connect to the speaker, you need the marshall connect app. I know other brands of speakers also recommend using their app for additional benefits but they at least let you connect any device at any time via bluetooth. It does not seem that the marshall app is that advanced that it's worth it to have it, but again, unfortunately it is needed to connect to the speaker. Once the app is downloaded is it very easy to connect to this speaker. Another minor disappointment is that the speaker needs to be plugged into an outlet to work, it is not a wireless one with a battery which is surprising considering its larger size. It would have been nice if they gave it even an okay battery that would maybe give you five or six hours without power, and could otherwise be plugged in when in use, but alas, it must be plugged into a power source at all times. The speaker really does sound good, it sounds powerful and has plenty of bass. It is nice that it has bass and treble controls right on top, I did however notice that when I have the volume nearly up, say volumes 8,9, and 10, the sound gets a little muddy sounding no matter what type of music I play, what adjustments I make on the speaker and on the equalizer on my phone. I’m really hoping I just have not found the right settings yet because I’d love for this speaker to sound great on all volume levels. Like I said, this speaker is only comparable to my bose speaker, more powerful than it but the boss has it beat on clearness at high levels. A very big plus would be that it has an aux cord option, it is getting harder to find that these days, and also an RCA option which is even harder to find. I connected it to my tv and it really changed how tv sounds. Overall this speaker is highly recommended, especially to someone who is a music enthusiast or audiophile, between its pleasing unique looks and its above satisfactory sound quality, it is worth the money. Again, just remember this speaker does not have a built in battery as that could be a game changer for many people looking for portability.

||Posted . He had taken a bad fall before it arrived and didn't get to open it unit the first of September. It doesn't work and the closes Best Buy store is over 80 miles away. And now it is pass return date. Sounds Amazing for its size
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot be more happy with my Marshall Standmore II speaker and the way it sounds. The look of it is classic as well and really looks great in a modern or contemporary setting. Buttons and knobs work great and look the part as well. The bass and treble are adjustable but do not change the sound too much. The until has very little distortion all the way up but with a lot of bass, it can be noticed. The clarity of the speaker is great and fills my 25x28 living room will great sound for daily use or a gathering. Bluetooth works flawlessly and sound quality is great with it, I cannot notice a difference between BT or wired input. Make sure to give the Standmore a look if you want that perfect look and sound.

Doesn't play stereo records properly?
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased an open box version of this speaker 2.5 months ago, and the speaker doesn't play half the audio on a new record we just purchased! I'm starting to suspect that one of the stereo speakers was always broken and that's why it was returned.
