Marshall - Stanmore II Voice Wireless Speaker with Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant - Bought @$199 Good value Too sad they don't make brown color

I've used Marshall products for the past 20 years. I play guitar and have a Marshall Half Stack, so i was curious with their new line of bluetooth products. It looks like their traditional amp. You can customize the tone and bass by moving the knobs. You also have the option to listen to your music through Aux, bluetooth, and wifi. I like the wifi option personally, you'll have easier access to listening to your music. The Marshall app needs a lot of work. It doesn't have a lot of options and it was difficult to set up. I tried several times to sync up through the app. I did not like the set up. You have to install the Marshall App to read instructions as well. The sound quality is great! I expected no less from Marshall. I listen to rock, jazz, trap, and edm. Every genre sounded great, it doesn't have a lot of bass? just turn up the bass knob or tune to get your sound just right. This bluetooth speaker does not have an on or off switch. Its directly plugged into outlet, so its always on. I did set it up with Alexa via Alexa app. I don't use it often since i use spotify for my music. Alexa is very responsive. I own different Alexa bluetooth speaker and when playing load music is not as responsive. You literally have to scream "Alexa" to get it to work. Marshall amp is very responsive even with loud music playing. I did notice when studying, Alexa will turn on without me commanding it, it does that from time to time. Kind of weird. Either way, i love this amp. Reminds me of old school Marshall amps and has great sound. Its small enough to be portable and loud enough for parties. I would recommend it!

I have been testing this speaker for two weeks. Out of the box this speaker is brilliant. This is our first Marshall speaker and I am blown away by the craftsmanship. It doesn’t seem gimmicky at all. It all fits with it’s retro design and the knobs are quality crafted. Looks are definitely reminiscent of the guitar amps they are known for, and it does not fall short. It is just a gorgeous and visually stunning speaker that will fit into many home designs/styles. It is not super heavy, but it has some weight to it. Which makes it less portable. This is Marshall’s larger of the two in this particular line up and it has to be plugged in at all times to operate. For us, it’s the perfect size and weight. It was super easy to set up. Connectivity was fast and simple. The only downside is that you need to download the app for initial set up. I wasn’t able to set it up without the app. The app is nice, design wise, but there isn’t much use/function for it after initial setup. It does have a couple extra features such as setting your custom EQ settings based on the type of music you’re into, with their pre-made music options. But you don’t need the app for that because you have those beautiful golden metal knobs to set your sounds volume, bass and treble. Most may be interested in Alexa but I’m not impressed with her capabilities as yet. She is responsive and clear, but if you have several Alexa devices it can get a bit annoying. You would need to disconnect other Alexa devices just to keep you sanity. Sometimes she does take a few more seconds than normal to respond when activated, and sometimes speaks when not summoned. No fault of Marshall, because she does that on our other devices as well. I actually didn’t use her much, as I would turn on the speaker manually out of habit and I preferred that. I have two young children and I don’t need her loud mouth waking them in the mornings. Lol Ok, SOUND!!! Man, it’s clean, crisp and LOUD! We were blown away by the quality of sound being produced. It was extremely loud and responded quickly when turned up. I was a bit apprehensive turning it up 100%. We didn’t think anything could beat the speakers we swear by and can be found in several rooms in our home, but this one speaker made us think twice. In two weeks I don’t think I’ve touched the other speakers although I do like that we can link those in other rooms via Bluetooth, and this Marshall speaker does not have that capability. So that is a downside if I wanted to add more in the future. I did note that “coming soon” you would be able to build a multi-room setup via Alexa through other Alexa capable devices or another Marshall voice speaker(s). Seeing that she’s a hit and mainly miss for me, I would prefer if my ecosystem had the option to also connect or link via Bluetooth. All in all, This is now my newest obsession. I absolutely love this speaker and would recommend it to anyone thinking about giving this a shot. Even with Alexa being a miss for me(which really isn’t a fault of Marshall), based on sound quality alone it gets a 5 star from me.
