Amazing sound quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker is one of the highest quality Bluetooth speakers I have ever owned! The adjustable bass and treble is such a neat feature and I love how easy it is to set up on your phone. It can get really loud and it is compact enough to put in a small space like a bedroom. It doesn’t take up too much space but it packs a punch with sound quality! I love how easy it is to use and it doesn’t take much time to get set up and running at all. What I like the most about it is that it’s very easy to sync up with Spotify. I think the one feature I wish this had was some sort of voice command. I like being able to change my music hands-free, and this doesn’t really allow for that the way a smart speaker would. However, what it lacks in “smart features” since it is a very straight forward and simple product, it packs in sound quality and volume. This is the best higher quality budget speaker on the market in my opinion. I love this speaker and hope to see a “smart” version of it someday, but so far so good!

Does not connect to Alexa.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not connect to Alexa as it claims in the description. Customer service will not help you unless you agree to pay $38 a month. Best Buy also will not help you unless you pay. I should not have to pay to get a newly purchased item right out of the box that will not do what it was advertised to do. It connects to phone just fine. Has great sound as long as you are standing in front of it. Behind it or to the side the sound is lacking. I will be returning this product. I'm completely frustrated with it.

Posted .Hello Karcar, thank you for your review and feedback. The Stanmore III should be able to connect to an Amazon speaker as a Bluetooth device, there are instructions on how to do so in the Amazon Alexa help center articles. Marshall Support doesn't require any payments for assistance, the Support Team is available through the official online website via email or Live Chat at no cost. If you still have the speaker, please reach out to our Support Team for assistance.

A Design Without Flaw For Me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The earlier Marshall Action II was my pandemic work speaker - and I have nothing but praise for it. Marshall took an interesting approach with these speakers. They packed a separate woofer and amp with twin high-range speakers with their own amp into a sturdy and heavy and well-built enclosure with a rear port to help articulate the low notes. I believe these speakers are, technically, stereophonic....but that isn't how they excel. Their mark of excellence is how they provide a uniform sound response that accurately presents the source material. For every imaginable musical type, my old Action II gave me a perfect representation of the source. But this Stanmore III system takes everything to another level. For people considering a home/work speaker, this is large and heavy speaker system with a direct AC plugin (no external power supply). It does not support battery operation. It accepts input from Bluetooth, Aux, and RCA. Many Bluetooth devices suffer from terrible sound transmission and from unwelcome Bluetooth artifacts in the sound. Bluetooth transmission here is outstanding. Full and rich bass with crystal clear high notes and without any noticeable distortions (within acceptable Bluetooth range). Direct connection to this device by Aux or RCA improves sound and equalization to some extent, but I can't stress enough how amazing the Bluetooth reproduction of sound is! Because this device is able to reproduce source materials faithfully, it can actually point out aggressive recording equalization that you might find offensive (same problem I have had with the best over-the-ear noise-cancelling headphones on the market). A good speaker can serve to amplify poor source material. So because all music (that I have listened to) sounds accurately presented, I should warn you that music whose source is poorly or unevenly captured will be amplified accordingly. The Stanmore III does include knobs to adjust bass and treble response. But unlike with old stereophonic systems whose knobs could assert aggressive controls, these controls (more appropriately) allow the listener to adjust the equilibrium of sound to better suit their specific musical tastes. They allow you to contour rather than force. These speakers can be VERY loud but they are able to produce volume without adding distortion. Again: while these speakers produce output that is, technically, stereophonic, they produce sound that is more valuable than stereo effects alone can provide. Marshall's Stanmore IIIs drive-out a uniform and velvety sound that is clear at all volumes. The best way to judge any audio system is by how it is able to push-out bass notes at low volumes. And with this unit, even at a distance, you are aware that it is pushing-out air to articulate the lowest bass notes. Incredible. I listened to many styles of music while I was evaluating this speaker and I loved everything I heard. The first track of classical music I chose was something I knew would hit the bass notes strongly (the intermezzo from Prokofiev's second piano concerto) - and sitting next to the speaker, I could feel the bass projected onto my arm like a breeze and it gave me goosebumps. Goosebumps always gets five stars and the most enthusiastic recommendation!

Blast from the past
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall Stanmore III is going to have most you feeling nostalgic while you think back to those garage door band days. And for those of you wanting to relive the past or those looking for a bit of nostalgia with a touch of modern day tech then this may be right up your alley. The Stanmore III is a stationary bluetooth speaker that requires direct AC power. While it does require direct power itself, the speaker is still light weight enough to be easily moved from room to room. This speaker has all the trim and fittings you would expect to receive from a genuine Marshall speaker. On the top of the speaker you have the traditional throw style power switch which is accompanied by three turn dial knobs. One for bass, treble and volume. Your given a 3.5 mm jack for direct connection or you can use the provided RCA if your wanting to rock some vintage records. The speaker does offer a app which you can download however don't expect a whole lot of functionality from the app itself. The apps lackluster ability to give me a decent EQ to work with lead me to basically just use the dial knobs to adjust the sound to where i wanted it. Connection through a mobile device can be easily accomplished via the built in bluetooth. Now lets talk sound for a minute, after all that's what they are truly known for. The Stanmore III stays true to its original roots meaning the sound quality is superb to say the least. All the highs and lows came in great and while playing some of my favorite rock songs at almost near full volume there was very little distortion which most people wont notice. While switching over to some hip hop the bass came through like a power house. Which each hit of the bass speaker it sent trembles through the ground. The adjustment of the bass knob gave me easy access to tune it when the song genre changed. In all tradition of design this is forward facing speaker so placement is very key to achieving the sound quality you wish. If your looking for modern day design then you need to look else where as this speaker does not offer 360 sound or anything of that nature. Don't mistake what im saying though, sound quality is awesome but the speakers are true to their native roots. So is it worth the price tag? In my opinion it is so very worth it. Sound quality is awesome and the design is flawless as it lends looks true to what you remember from your childhood. There are a few things to be aware of first before buying this. There is no built in battery so this will require constant power. It is not water proof (obliviously if its wired in) so this is going to make it primarily a indoor speaker. The app has nothing breakthrough to brag about and the speaker does not offer 360 sound. If you are looking for a speaker that sounds great and offers a somewhat true vintage style with little modern day tech then this is the right fit for you. If your looking for modern day software and tech features then your going to want to pass on this as you will find yourself disappointed.

Beautiful Speaker with Full and Rich Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Stanmore III is a powerful Bluetooth speaker that I plan to have displayed as a beautiful and functional piece of home décor in our new house. Design I love to retro Marshall design to this speaker. While the pictures do not do it justice, they do not deceive you either. The materials look and feel in person eactly as I imagined. From the outer black textured material to the metal on top and on the classic metal power switch. To me, it looks and feels impressive. There are two inputs. One 1/8" stereo input on top and a right/left RCA input on the back. On the top there is a source button that's a three way toggle between Bluetooth, Aux (1/8" stereo), and RCA. There's a red light to show you which is selected. There are also three dials, volume, bass, and treble. The dials turn smoothly and red lights make it easy to see where they're set as you turn. There is one other control on top, press is to pause/resume or slide it left or right for previous or next track. For me, the design sets it apart from other speakers down to the guitar riff sound when it establishes a Bluetooth connection. Features There are two main features I found interesting. One is that it has "Placement compensation". You need to use the app to enable it. You just answer a few questions and it makes changes to the audio output to compensate for some placement issues, like being in a corner or near a wall. I didn't really get to test this but I'm glad to have the option there. The other feature it has that I think is somewhat unique is it's designed with software upgradable Bluetooth hardware. I don't think I've ever seen a Bluetooth device that can be updated for future Bluetooth standards. Who knows how flexible that ability is but I love the attempt and look forward to seeing what new standards it's able to support. I think it's designed to at least support a future low power standard. Sound Of course, what really matters for any speaker is how does it sound. I was totally impressed with the sound of the Stanmore III! The sound seems very rich and wide. The highend is produced very clearly along with lots of other sounds going on. The bass seems excellent, better than I would expect for a speaker this size. There is a depth to the audio that really makes the audio feel more like you're listening to a live performance. Drums, guitars, electric guitars, violins, as well as vocals and regular speech were reproduced clearly. The clarity and fullness of the audio seemed to make some vocals easier to hear and understand in some music. I also used it to listen to an audio drama for a bit and the vocals and background sounds were excellent. Overall The word that comes to me is premium. The Stanmore III has a premium look, a premium feel, and produces premium audio! I strongly recommend it.

Posted .Hello, thanks for your review and feedback. The Stanmore III speaker is not portable, it doesn't have a strap to carry it. This model needs to be plugged in to a power source at all times for it to function. Is it possible you were looking at a different model at the store? The Tufton or Kilburn II would be the largest portable models and they both have a carrying strap.

Marshall review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this item for my husband and it’s something he really really wanted but for some reason it did not meet what we thought it would based on all the reviews and information we read about before we purchased it is not loud and it keeps coming disconnected with the Bluetooth for some reason Even the Marshall headphones, wireless headphones we got also keep disconnecting with Bluetooth completely not even listed on my phone. It doesn’t work the app of Marshall to control the volume with the speaker. Also does not work very well.

Stylish and Vintage looking with quality perfectio
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Marshall - Stanmore III Bluetooth Speaker – Black reminds me of the audio devices that I grew up with in the 1960’s. The faux leather exterior is class personified and the gold tone face plate and knobs emits the look of class and quality technology. It was easy to setup, once I installed the Marshall Bluetooth app. Even though the Marshall - Stanmore III Bluetooth Speaker – Black can operate through RCA jacks and an auxiliary input, I prefer to use its easier Bluetooth connection function. By long pressing the Bluetooth source Selection button, connection was made with my phone. The functionality of the Marshall - Stanmore III Bluetooth Speaker – Black is outstanding. Volume can fill multiple rooms, if needed. The Bass is really strong and deep sounding. The treble creates that crispy clear sound that allows all the higher notes to be heard. The Media Control button for forward and backward song selection works perfectly. The Marshall - Stanmore III Bluetooth Speaker – Black is truly the best independent speaker system that I have ever owned.

Analog Satisfaction!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker is a nice blend of technology with the satisfaction and fine adjustment of analog controls, all with the classic look of a Marshall amp. I’m a pretty big fan of the design of Marshall’s home audio products where they stand apart from the maybe-too-modern look of most electronics nowadays where it brings some classic design like a mesh speaker grill, the leather-ish looking material surrounding the speaker (appears to be rubber), and the brass analog controls on the top of the unit. The analog controls on the top of the unit are awesome for fine-tuning the volume, treble, and bass and there’s a distinct satisfaction vs just up/down buttons that you typically find. Along with that you also have an aux port (3.5mm), a button to switch sources from bluetooth, aux, or RCA (yes it even has RCA jacks on the back), there’s also a play/forward/back toggle/button, as well as the power switch which is probably the most satisfying to use. For sound, unsurprisingly, rock sounds amazing with the sound signature they chose for this speaker where guitars are crisp and earthy, bass is deep but not overly punchy, and vocals are clear and crisp. Hip-hop also sounds great with a very clear distinction between vocals and beats. Overall, vocals are a highlight of the sound signature so singer-songwriters will sound fantastic. Electronica didn’t seem to fit the characteristics of this speaker as well where the low end may not be as forward and clear as other speakers, even while adjusting the bass level. One thing to note though is that if you’re looking for smart-home-like connectivity options you’ll have to look elsewhere - it only has bluetooth 5.2 and doesn’t have Google Assistant or Alexa support however you can pair it with the Marshall smartphone app where you can adjust the equalizer settings wirelessly. Happy to add this to my collection of Marshall gear - great sound, awesome design, all with that retro feel.

Easy recommendation.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one is very easy, we are talking about Marshall. I've been using the Kilburn II for over 3 years now, and it has been great. But moving up to this speaker has just been an amazing jump to better sound. First off, this one has to stay plugged in, and that is just fine for me. I used my Kilburn II in the garage, and that is where it lives. This one will fit right in, and deliver even more for me. Second, this one is bigger, much bigger...which is a GREAT thing for me. When I'm outside doing yard work, or washing my cars, I listen to music. While my other speaker delivered amazing sound, this one is seriously worlds better. Sound: 50W subwoofer, and 2 15W tweeters take this speak to a new level of performance for it's size. Bass is very deep [depending on the genre of music you are listening to], and trebles are very high. I have mine set at about 5 out of 10 for bass, and 9 out of 10 for tweets/highs. I love the bass, but you really don't need to set it too high with this speaker. It delivers, trust me. Design: It's a Marshall, so you know the quality of the design is going to be great, and the build quality is top notch. The rubberize texture makes it easy to move around, and also appears to be able to take a beating. I have been using their speakers for some years, and they hold up well. In the end, some might turn an eye to the price, but I feel it's totally worth it. As I stated before, my Kilburn II still works, over 3 years later.
