But the sound/loudness/audio quality of this speaker are incredibly underwhelming and generally just bad. It sounds small there’s almost no bass and the clarity is lacking severely. I wouldn’t reccomend buying it unless it’ll sit on a shelf forever.

We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the Willen, did you return the speaker to the store and discuss it with a store agent? Something sounds not quite right, this isn't how the Willen is normally described so we wonder if something was wrong with it. Did you have the speaker standing up or on its side? We hope you will consider a different model of Marshall Speakers again in the future.

People raved about how loud it was and how it was better than the jbl. Must have been fake reviews. The charge on it only last a few hours. It only had a full charge for 2/3 months. And the jbl speakers I hear at work get way louder and more clarity than this speaker ever could.

Out of the box, it comes 30% charged, so you can start using it immediately while you make your connections. And it comes with a USB-C to USB-A charging cable for your future charging needs. There’s a nice quick-start guide that has instructions in just about every language you can imagine, and then some. This will help get you up and running very quickly. After connecting via Bluetooth to my phone and computer, I tested the unit, playing several genres of music. Everything sounded great and it was hard to believe that these high-quality sounds were coming from such a small, compact unit. There were no vibrations or tinny sounds, even at the highest volume level. Another nice feature I discovered is that you can control the volume using the volume controls on your phone. (One caution: you may want to turn off the “sleep” feature on your phone, or the music may stop when your phone goes to sleep.) This device can also be used as a speakerphone for your telephone conversations. You simply toggle it on and off, as desired. You can download the Marshall app if you want more control over your device (available for both Google and Apple devices). However, after doing so, I found the original settings to be just fine for my taste. One suggestion: While it may add a few dollars to the cost, I think Alexa would be a great addition to this device, since it would offer much more flexibility. With this Marshall Willen Portable Loudspeaker, you get great-sounding music in a very lightweight (less than a pound) compact portable speaker that you can take with you just about everywhere you go and that you can control with your phone. Highly recommended.

Posted .Apologies that the Willen was not a good choice for you. Perhaps going to the next model up such as the Emberton II or the Middleton would be a better choice for you as they are more comparable to what your other suggested brand have to offer.
