The only issue i have with this speaker is that it rotates itself when playing (because of vibration i presume) and it’s kind of annoying.

Two words – ridiculous and shocking. Not in bad way, I simply cannot get over how much sound power the Marshall Willen BT Portable Speaker has in relation to its size. For a 4 inch by 4 inch by 1.6 inch speaker, it is amazing that it can fill up a room with both big sound yet maintains clarity. Now you do have to set proper expectations, the Marshall Willen speaker is not going to blow your doors off with deep resonating bass, no speaker this size will ( more on that later) but it is more than up to task in most uses. In review: Build – Solid construction and well built throughout. About the height and width of a bar coaster but 1.6 inches thick. Rubberized coating protects the speaker as well contributes to its IP67 dust and water-resistance rating. It has a bit of heft to it for its size. The Willen is not heavy by any means, but it is dense and solid. Controls- I do not like a lot of the controls on competing speakers. I find they are sometimes hard to find and use. Not with the with Marshall Willen, one brass control knob for volume, turning the speaker on/off, skipping songs etc. It works great and I love the tactile feel of it. High marks, Marhall. Battery- Marshall lists it at 15 hours. I was able to get over 6 hours with ¾ of battery life left. Charging is 3 hours for standard charge to full and it has a fast charge of 20 minutes for 3 hours. Sound – As I mentioned in the beginning of this review, the sound is amazing for this diminutive speaker. At moderate volumes, bass and treble are spot on. When the Marshall Willen is set to the highest volume, you will start to hear the bass start to sound restrained. There is probably a decent amount of digital processing going on in the background that affects this. There are adjustments you can do in the software to select different equalizer presets and it does make a difference. For my taste, the speaker really shines on acoustic and orchestral pieces. In conclusion, the Marshall Willen is a pleasure to use, sounds fantastic for its tiny size and is built well. The app is simplistic at best but does the job. Everything about the Marshall Willem says premium – just a great little speaker.

The Marshall speakers I had always seen have been large so I was surprised to see that the speaker that I received was very small. After hearing the sound quality I then decided it was worth the purchase price..

Many of us of a certain age have memories of rock concerts and stacks of Marshall amps/speakers displayed on the stage. The Willen provides a Marshall musical experience in a speaker you can hold in your hand. Looking for a Bluetooth speaker with good portability, I selected to try the Willen based on its specs and on the Marshall name. There’s been no disappointment in the choice! Getting the speaker ready for a musical long haul takes only the time needed to fully charge the battery. When ready, Bluetooth pairing was one of the quickest I have experienced. To allow me to have music outside on the deck, Willen is paired with an Alexa Show in my living room. It works great out there, with no sputter experienced on other brands I have used. In addition, from the same base, I have tried it upstairs and out in my garage. Still works great! In fact, I am hearing high treble tones in some of my music (Pink Floyd for one example) that I don’t think I have heard through other speakers, even with my hearing aids (too many concerts). When I got hearing aids, I rediscovered sounds I hadn’t heard in a long time. Now, the Willen is taking enjoyment of my music to even another level! Aside from the great musical output, there are other likeable features to the Willen. For example: *To control the speaker operation, there is a single toggle on the top. Power on/off, volume up/down, and forward/backward functions are all done easily. In addition, if connected to your phone, the toggle can be used answer/end/reject a call. *The speaker is “weatherized” to protect it while outdoors from dust and water. *If you want to create your own wall of sound, additional Willens can be stacked and synchronized to further magnify your listening pleasure. *Along with great output, the Willen welcomes input. It can be used as a speaker phone. Also, having it paired with an Echo, I can control function via speaking to Alexa whether inside or out. Google users should have the same positive experience. *Battery power that lasts. It is estimated to provide about 15 hours on a full charge, and I have not tried to disprove it. What I can say for certain is I have not yet had to even think of recharge after having it in use for varying periods over several days. By now, you already know I love the Marshall Willen and I highly recommend it for your listening pleasure! If you want to go put on a big show, buy more and stack them!

this speaker is worse than Eminem. I'm going to return this. when I turn it up full blast it crackles. I do not recommend this speaker at all battery life is actually terrible

Busted speaker within 4 months. Lots of usage 5 out of 7 days a week. Doesn’t charge all of the time.

I just have to say, Marshall has been killing it with their speakers and headphones. This is anther great speaker by them. The design on this thing is what you'd expect from Marshall. It has that signature look that only they have for all there stuff. It's controls are smooth to the touch and feel very well made. It's a premium feel. Definitely not something you would expect to get from this price point, especially nowadays. The functionality is very straightforward. It connects easily and quickly to my phone and I was streaming my music asap. It doesn't drop out and the bluetooth connection stays strong. Even from across the yard, it stayed connected to my phone while I was doing my yardwork with no issues. The sound, Oh man the sound! It has such clarity and detail. You would not believe it was coming from this little speaker unless you were there. It filled my outdoor space very well. The app for my phone works well and it has some cool equalizer settings but I am honestly happy with the sound straight out of the box. The battery life is excellent, I have been using it non stop and have only had to charge it once so far. This is by far one of the best bluetooth speakers I have heard at this price point in a very long time. So so impressed with it.

Wow-size doesn't effect sound quality! This small speaker has a BIG sound and it's a high quality sound! With bluetooth connection it's easy to connect this speaker with my smart phone and play music, podcasts, etc anywhere I want. I love the sharp style of it's appearance with gold accents. The small size makes it easy to pack to take on a trip in your luggage, in your beach bag, in your purse, in your car, etc. The sound quality is above and beyond other portable speakers I've had in the past. The sound is crisp, bold and perfectly balanced. I like to have the speaker in my bathroom and listen to podcast while I get ready in the mornings-I can hear it while I'm showering! The speaker is durable and made of high quality material. The Marshall brand clearly is one that has a reputation that is worth the price. I will know look into other products made by Marshall in the future. My only con against it is the one toggle used for all controls is a tad small and is very precise and sometimes difficult to get it in the right position when making a change. Overall, very pleased with this speaker and highly recommend!

Saved about $20 on the open box and was sent a broken speaker. The clerk at the store said it must not have been tested when they couldn't find the reason it wouldn't work .

I am in love with my new little speaker! I only owned 2 Marshall products, but I am seriously becoming a little fan boy because this company just does it right with their audio products. This speaker is elegant and yet built strong enough to take on mountain bike rides. Highly recommend!! 5/5 Built Quality - rugged and jet black so you don't have to be worried about getting this dirty or it losing it's color from tough use. 5/5 Sound - After using this the first time, I completely forgot about my two other portable speakers and actually gave them away because this one is it for me now. The sound is so clear and crisp and the bass kicks in just went it needs to. Extremely satisfy with the sound and the loudness. 5/5 Bluetooth - the range is great and had zero connectivity issues. 5/5 Buttons and Controls - the little speaker can full you at first when you don't find the volume or skip button, but it's so nicely built and elegant that you realize the company took time to built and design this little speaker. Don't think about it twice! This thing is awesome! Now I am seriously thinking about getting their wireless headsets just to compared them to what I currently use. Thank you, Marshall!

battery only had 3 bars and stayed on 3 bars. and then I returned it and bestbuy didnt give me my 50 dollars in gift certificate back. ultimate fail.

This is a compact, rubberized Bluetooth speaker branded to look like Marshall amps. As a matter of fact, you can even "stack" them with others of the same model, so you can wind of with a “Marshall stack” I’m sure if you are looking at this speaker you get the reference. Control of the speaker rests with a gold metal button on the front of the unit which will power it on/off, control volume, fast forward/rewind and track forward/backward. The unit comes with a USB-A to USB-C plug which goes into the side of the speaker to charge it. Also, there is a handy red LED which shows one to five bars to indicate battery level, a nice visible touch. I had no problem with paring it, although it appears with a device name as "Willen" the manufacturer The speaker sounds pretty good for a relatively small speaker, with a bit of tweaking of EQ on your device it can sound a lot better than a flat setting. As for battery life I haven’t really gone from a full charge down to empty, but expect to get the battery life that is advertised. Pros: - Good sound quality with some tweaking of your devices EQ - USB-C plug for charging the battery - Battery charging/level indicator - Built in carrying handle - Sturdy build, rubberized Cons: - none yet.

Wouldn’t charge, wouldn’t play, so practically useless and a waste of money too

I am in love with this speaker! First, it’s very nice looking. I love the feel of it. You can tell it was made with good materials. It seems like it will be able to stand the test of time. Did I mention how nice looking the speaker is? (Haha). There’s a clip on the back that you can use to maybe hang it anywhere you please. I was connected to my phone in no time. Powered it on went to my Bluetooth settings and viola. There’s a little guitar riff that plays when it’s powered on which I think is so cool. Let me tell you, this thing rocks! For such a small speaker it gets real loud. No distortion. It sounds great. I know it can be used for music at a small gathering at a home or even outside. I’m definitely bringing it with me when I get back to the beach. (It’s water resistant) Not only does it sound great, it also works great as a speaker for phone conversations. There’s a microphone on board to allow this. I’ve found myself using this on purpose when I’m on the phone. Battery life is also great. I think I’ve only charged it twice since I had it. If you’re thinking about buying this don’t wait another second and I promise you will not be disappointed! There’s a bigger model of this one that I’m going to purchase.

This Marshall Willen speaker is a great little mobile addition. It is very stylish and mimics their guitar amps. It feels very durable and well crafted. The buttons have a solid feeling and the battery level indicator is a nice touch for a mini speaker. Out of the box, the speaker did not have any battery life, so it needed to be charged for a few hours. It comes with a short usb-c charging cable, but no wall plug. After powering on, you will see the battery indicator on the speaker light up as well as the power light. You can download the Marshall Bluetooth app for a couple additional features like firmware updates when they come out, or linking several Marshall speakers together, or slightly adjusting the EQ level. The EQ adjustment in the app gives you Marshall signature sound as a standard. Then a heavier bass mode which just lowers the mid and treble and really doesn't provide more bass, just kind of muffles the music. That definitely needs some work and could possibly be adjusted via firmware update in the future. It also has a voice EQ setting tuned more around podcasts, audiobooks, etc. The Marshall signature sound is the best setting I feel. Battery life is pretty good, I have played over 8 hours so far with out a charge. The only thing I am unsure of is the real battery level. On the speaker, the battery level was full after completely charging, but in the app, it showed the battery level at 90% and would fluctuate around in the app, so I can't say I would depend on the app for a status like that. As I mentioned the build quality is good. It is very rugged and a good solid feeling. Nothing feels cheap or like it could break easy. I feel it is a very good value for its price point and would definitely recommend for a great compact Bluetooth speaker.

This is an excellently put together little speaker! Just from a build-perspective, I've dropped it from a height of about 5 feet, and it shows absolutely no marks and works perfectly. It is also nice to have an elastic strap on the back to allow you to hang the speaker or strap it to a backpack. SOUND: The sound quality is fantastic, as you'd expect from Marshall. This is a very small speaker, but it produces a great volume without any distortion in the sound. The only point that it misses, which is very nit-picky, is that the bass drops off a bit as you reach higher volumes. This does keep the audio clear, but changes the EQ overall. Still, at 50-75% volume, there is great bass for such a small speaker. SET-UP: Bluetooth set-up is very easy. Different phones may behave differently, but mine immediately brought up a screen asking if I wanted to connect this speaker before I even went into bluetooth settings. It prompts you to download an app which makes connecting multiple speakers easier, and has EQ, but you definitely don't need it for using the speaker. As I don't have multiple of this speaker, I was not able to test connecting multiple in the "stack" set-up. BATTERY: They advertise 15+ hours on the box, and in my experience it is definitely on the "+" side. I mostly listen to podcasts, with some music on most days but typically at a max of about 50% volume. I got about 25 or more hours of playtime this way, so the battery is excellent. It also takes about 3 hours to fully charge from being completely run down. Another nit-picky complaint is that there is no warning when the battery is low, it just powers off without warning. TLDR: Great battery life, really good sound with only a little bass drop-off at high volume.
