Warm sound with woofers sounding distorted at high volume. I have it in the box. A soundbar is better for the price. Alexa audio is worth it. Basic speaker npt worth it.

I have owned and review a bunch of different Bluetooth speakers over the last couple years... hands down, this one is BY FAR the best ever. First the look of this speaker is that of the classic guitar amp. From the casing, to the muted colors. to the dials, to the way the switches look... it is a classic look with modern functionality. the only knock I have on the case/look, is that there isn't a dedicated handle to carry the unit by. you can easily use one of the sub-woofer air-vents, and that works just fine... but it is just a tiny-est of things. Also the first time you use it, the power switch isn't obvious. you need to hold it in the on position for about 5 seconds and it powers on. Okay, now for the sound. and just WOW. this speaker for it size, is louder and powerfull then anything I have seen on the market at this price point. You will be absolutely blown away, and may even throw out some of your othe speakers. I tested this out with Hamilton and the Greatest Showman soundtrack. What those two pieces allow you to hear, is just how CRISP and CLEAR the vocals come across. And it also give you the power of the bass from those songs. You have the adjustment knobs that you would expect, so you can tune to how you like it. Connectons: Bluetooth, RCA, and headphone wire. So basically just about everything you will ever need in a portable device.... ON a daily basis, this speaker is now going to be connected to my Amazon Echo Dot, and I am getting rid of the older Sony stereo in my bedroom. Less space, more performance, and it just looks really really cool

Did not like this speaker. I had the original Woburn and it was so much better because you could EQ it to your liking but the Woburn II uses dsp as well as EQ and to me doesn’t sound as good.

    Bluetooth Speaker with Great Sound

The Woburn II Dual is a bluetooth speaker. It is a single device which packages two one-inch tweeters and two 5.25-inch subwoofers. That's where the 2-way comes from. It means there are two types of speakers contained in a single package, in this case a tweeter and a subwoofer. These speakers are specialized for different frequency ranges, with tweeters high and woofers low. The use of a subwoofer here, instead of a mid-woofer or woofer indicates the the Woburn II should be capable of significant bass. We will put this to the test. The actual speaker itself (I keep vacillating between saying "speakers" since it contains four of them) is traditional Marshall, and looks like amp. It has RCA inputs on the back and along the top, a 3.5mm aux input, button to select between inputs (including bluetooth), bass, treble, and volume knobs, a play/pause button, and power button. These controls look distinctively retro. And that's it. While there's a mobile app to set up the speakers, there isn't anything else special that the app or speakers do. You won't get google assistant, alexa, or some other smart features built-in. You just have an interesting looking, kinda heavy, set of bluetooth speakers. . . these better have great sound! With setup complete and nothing else to do or check out, I move to playing a few test tracks - some top 100 pop hits and a few of my faves from a man by the name of Marshall Mathers (fitting don't you think?). And this is where the speakers really come into their own. I started with the bass and treble at nuetral (in the middle) and volume low (one never knows what the base volume level is for speakers) and already got deep, solid room feeling sound. This is the same experience I get with good headphones except the sound is filling an entire room. I already have a couple other BT speakers peppered through the house but this is something else. Unlike speakers that you'd use for a party, just to have music playing discreetly through the house this is more of a "we're here to actually listen to and enjoy music" set of speaker, not a "it would be nice to have some music playing in the background". I've experimented with soundbars for my TV from time to time and while some have been good, never quite had one that blew me away. I think this could give those bars a run for their money. It'll still be lacking in feature - like presets for different movie genres and other modes, but sound quality wise, amazing. Going to Eminem for some bass tracks showed not only does the Woburn II bring the base, depending on placement, you'll get some wall vibrating bass! I expect it has similar effect on hard floors, but my test room is carpet covered which does a good job of damping. Cranking the volume to the max results in hit or miss results. I'd suggest it only for music that's mostly in the mid range of frequencies. That said, this is to be expected. They don't artificially limit the amp (what's actually driving the speakers) so you get the range to max out volume (and bass). The only other issue is the size/weight of these speakers. Being bluetooth, one expects a bit more mobility. For speakers that need to be tethered to a wall, I start to expect the ability to combine into a multi-speaker or some sort of multi-channel setup. What would be cool to offset not having these features is a guitar kareokee like input. That would be really cool and compliment the looks and sound.

Hello Nancy, thanks for your review and feedback. Did you try turning the Bass level down with the control knobs on top of the speaker? The Woburn II Bluetooth speakers have 2 woofers so they are definitely full of bass, a Stanmore or Acton model may be better suited to your preferences.
